Can you put something on top of it? Our copier (connected to computer) has a lid, so we just close it.

Oops, just realized you're asking about taking a picture with a camera. How about using small paper clips on the corners to a firm board, either cardboard or wood.

Same here. We just scan it and the scanner lid keeps it flat.

I just take a picture of the photo page. No need for the facing page.

Just use my fingers. You can see them in the photos, but they don't seem to care.

I just take picture of photo page. Use one hand to open. Other to take photo. I don’t even lay it down. I hold it in my hand

I just used my fingers, and put them as far out of the photo/away from any of the critical information as I could (I live alone and don't have a scanner, so that's the best I could do, lol).

Take lots of cruises, so your passport is less stiff.

I really just open it a bunch; I have no problem if having it not wanting to close. Bend it open beyond flat.

This is what I did! Worked great
