Okay I know that someone said that I could put 4 2x3 on a 4x6 with a photo editing program. I am computer illiterate. I managed to crop the photos all to 4 x6 (cause they were digital) without a online program (I guess I have always relied on snapfish etc to do this) and now I am wondering how to put the photo onto one jpeg so to speak. I cropped with Photshop Album 2.0 Started Edition any idea if I can put several photos onto a 4 x 6 jpeg so to speak. TIA.

I think it was NEE who suggested to do this. I am showing how computer stupid I am. Ii am shocked I can keep up with the board sometimes :)

Buffy- per the orginal question that for the photo site I cannot wait to try them. Has anyone tried the metallic photo processing sounds interesting anyhow.

I'll try the best I can to explain it. I have a different photo editing program, but I imagine the steps would be similar no matter what you use.

First for 2 photos on a 4x6:
Open the 2 photos you want to use. They need to both be vertically oriented, so if they are not, rotate them so they are.
In the first photo, make it smaller by clicking the bottom right corner and dragging it upward and to the left. It doesn't have to be exact, just about half the size it was.
Now go to your second photo, copy it, and paste it into your first photo. Resize it using the same method.
Move the 2 photos so they are right next to each other, resizing either so they are roughly the same height.
Then, use the "cropping" tool/feature to select the whole area that pictures are taking up, and eliminate any white space at the bottom or sides. The software may say something like "Cropping this project may flatten it and you will not be able to work on individual projects later." Say okay.
Then choose the "Resize" feature to make the overall picture 4x6 (otherwise the photo developing may cut off one side) That may mean you get a white strip on the top or bottom and the cut down pictures will be a little less than 2x3, but it should be pretty close.
***Make sure you hit "Save As' and rename your photo otherwise you will be saving over your original 1st photo. An alternate plan is to open an empty project (if you know how to do that) and copy and paste both photos into it.

For 4 pictures on a page it is the exact same process, except all the pictures must be oriented horizontally. Then you would have 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom.

I hope that helps. Ask more questions if something wasn't clear. I'm not always the best explainer. I'm not familiar with your exact software, though, so I can't help you there.

Thanks I think I totally understand what you are saying, put I don't think any of the software I have is capiable of doing that. At least not those I tried. I don't have photoshop elements or anything like that so....... Too bad knowing how to do this and having the software to do would save me a ton on a current project for grandma LOL

okay I got photoshop 7.0 is there any chance someone can explain how to do the above for me step by step from the very beginning in this particular program. It is really I want to be able to do with the program for now. Totally TIA if anyone decides to take up this task I will be forever greatful!!!!

In simple

Open 4 photos in the same orientation (horizontal or vertical)
Set crop tool to crop to 2 high x 3 wide if horizontal
Crop the four photos.
Open a new 4x6 document (horizontal)
switch to the move tool
move the 4 small photos to the 4x6 document
click on the layers tab - you'll see they are four seperate layers.
On the layers menu click merge visible layers
save your new composite photo as a jpg
DO NOT save your cropped individual photos - that will change the originals

The same thing works with vertical photos, only you crop them 3 X2 instead of 2 x 3, and put them on a 6 x 4. once you get the hang of it, you can rotate your little photos and put a mixture on a 4 x 6 if you need to.

Thanks for your wonderful tutorial for Photoshop 7.0, but I have a question. When I opened the pictures, they opened at 33/3% RGB?? RBG??? I shrunk them to the size I wanted (2x3) with no problem. BUT, when I moved them into the new 4x6 box, they didn't "fill" the box by a long shot. What am I doing wrong??

TIA,
Brenda
