I know that through disney you can have your pictures put on a dvd if you give up your prints and pay like $350 more, but my question is if you do the MK shoot will you have to pay for another dvd, does anyone know how that goes?:confused3

If you are having an Escape event, you can give up all your prints and the album/folio thingy and pay $395 to get all your images on disc. They will include your Magic Kingdom photos too if you give up the prints and folio that normally come with that package.

For Wishes events, it's a whole other ball o' wax....

Thank you! and ball o' wax :rotfl:

Has anyone done this? and did you think it was worth it?

I'm getting the DVD. I'm a scrapbooker and to pay their overpriced amount for prints my album would cost a lot of money. This way I can have my pictures and order them. I'm going to be ordering them from Kodak's professional line which is 30cents a pic but that's better then $12.

It also allows me to make digital photo frames for our parents.

We're getting the DVD as well. It was worth more to us to have all of the pictures on a disk, than an album in which someone else decides what our best pictures are.

We're putting our ceremony photos and our MK Bridal Session on the disk.

It's $750; the price goes down to $350 if you wait 3 years.

For my money, the printed products that come with the Escape package and the MK shoot are not worth the $350 more you'd be spending than if you bought the $395 disc and skipped the products. You could buy an album and a folio and stick prints in them plus have a 4x6 print of each image professionally printed for less than that.

Thanks for the info! I definitely need to have the digital copies, and I think it is worth it to print them myself, and have the pics I like!

Thanks:goodvibes

What about someone in my situation? I am DCL but still doing a MK session. How much would the disk be for me? Do I still have the option of skipping the folio etc.?

Does anyone know if they include retouching if you opt for the DVD instead of prints? Some photographers do overall color correction on all the pictures, but only do extensive retouching and "special effects" on prints that are ordered or included in an album.

You only get the retouched photos on the dvd. Disney does not distribute the raw images.

Well, our DVD only had about 5 retouched images on it - the rest were "raw" dumps from the original files (not RAW formatted, though - they were jpegs). However, it seems like these days they apply filters to a lot more of the images and seriously doctor a handful of them.

How does that work when you are having a wishes wedding?

For Wishes weddings, the DVD costs $1,000 if you used Disney for your wedding photography too or $750 if you had an outside vendor do the wedding. The price drops to $500 after three years.

However, if you use Disney for your wedding photography, you can get a break on the price of the DVD by swapping out some of the things included in whatever package you bought. For the $5,225 Enchanted Rose package, you get it free if you give up the 4x6-inch prints. For the $3,650 Dreams package, you have to give up the 4x6-inch prints and pay $200 extra. For the $2,800 Romance package you give up the 4x6-inch prints and pay $400 extra.

For Cruise Collection events, the cost of buying the DVD is $750 (or $500 after 3 years) just like the cost for Wishes brides who haven't used Disney for their wedding photography. However, definitely talk to Disney Event Photography about whether they would allow a swap + cash deal like they have for Escape weddings. It could be that nobody's ever asked. :thumbsup2
