And for a change, this week is a R-E-A-L spring-y stretch.....

This groundcover plant is an old-fashioned cottage garden favourite. It has beautiful silvery white leaves and wonderful white flowers that just blankets the ground when in bloom. No wonder that it is called Snow in Summer; and is my (spring) take on First Frost :rolleyes1

Just catching up. Everyone's been busy it looks like :thumbsup2 there are some great shots here! Definitely capturing the essence of fall!

Loving the moons, the apple donuts, hot drinks and apple ice cream, the Frankenstein, the cobwebs, and the adorable dog and llama shot!

Tazdev, I have that same set of Mickey candle holders that are out on your table. :goodvibes

Princess, you get extra credit for actually making the fall foods, Wow! princess: It must feel strange to be experiencing spring, yet seeking out fall goodies! Please explain...

Keep em coming! :hmghost:

Folks - Great minds think alike. Look at what I came home with last October.

Pea-n-me, I'll try to answer your question as best I can. I've been playing on your Scav hunts for over a year now and part of the reason I like participating in them so much is due to the challenge of seeking out items that are in the complete opposite season to that in the northern hemisphere. And then trying to work out how to get a reasonable shot of the item (or sometimes just getting a shot) to post up on the boards. I guess living in a city of over 5 million people....and a city that prides itself on being cosmopolitan as well as multicultural....there is usually something around that I can find or use the magic of photography frames and angles to make it 'fit'.
And if I shared that my one of my personality traits is a very stubborn streak....where if someone tells me it's not possible to do, I'll dig my heels in to find a way to make it possible!; well..it may explain why I stick to trying to find items that are just improbable to get in the opposite season. Plus....with google as my friend, I've decided that I would make a very scary stalker!

In the case of the Fall hunt, there were items there that I really didn't think I was going to get....all I can say is thank goodness for the Royal Melbourne Show. And in terms of the food? Well....before I found the Dis and before I picked up a camera, one of my hobbies was cooking. I'm loving being able to combine both the cooking with the photography!

My luck at these scav hunts has been such that sometimes, I just literally stumble over items without even trying. Aussies don't celebrate Fall at this time of year....and we definitely don't have this item in our shops at any time of year.

I bought these when I was in Half Moon Bay, CA......LAST year.

Fall Flags

CAUTION! LOOK AWAY IF YOU ARE SQUEAMISH

This week, I saw my neighbour and I hadn't seen him in about a month. I was shocked to find out that he had been diagnosed with some sort of cancer and had an operation in that time! (Best he can tell....they caught it really early, no radiation or chemo required and they are expecting full recovery). He was kind enough to let me take this shot as he hadn't even seen the outcome of the surgery.
