Photo announcement in newspaper $$$???

Just got back the price quote for our announcement and photo in our local newspaper, it was 165.00. Is this normal? It is 7 1/2 inches and includes a beautiful photo of us of our first kiss with the ocean in the background. I am wondering if we should reduce it somehow? The thing is, no one was with us when we got married. We had a very intimate wedding without family and friends. We have not had a post reception either. We did send out announcements to a few family and friends. We both have many peers that we have known over the years that we did not sned announcements to. I would like to put it in the paper, just not sure if the amount is excessive or not.

Our announcement was free. It was just the picture and a small write up.

Ours was free too - our paper doesn't have an option for a longer announcement if you pay for it. It was just a wallet size black and white photo and a quick write up listing where we got married, who was in the bridal party, our parents names and our hometowns.

We had the free option, but it was for a tiny picture and like 50 words. I think that your price is within $5 of what I paid for a larger picture and longer writeup. I should have paid an extra $30 for a longer writeup, because I didn't even get to do the "dress details" part that I love seeing in other people's.

Ours paper does it once a month and it's free. The picture sizes flucuated due to images size and space. I wouldn't pay too much for it asit seems like it went from a regular announcement to an ad.

If it's worth $165 to you, do it, and don't worry about whether anyone else thinks it's reasonable.
