My DH and I have booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour on one day and Behind the Seeds on another. According to what we have read, we may not bring our phones or cameras on the tour. The camera is not a problem, we don't even own one. I told my DH that we could do without our phones for one of the days. However, we will need the phone on the Epcot tour day. What do most people do with their phones? Do you just get a locker?

We just kept ours on silent and in our pockets/purse. They just don't want you taking photos or recording the tour.

They had no problem with me just keeping mine in my purse. You just can't remove it from your bag backstage.

Last time I did the tour someone pulled his out and started taking pictures... We were all taken back on stage to watch security meet him, then we returned on our tour..

Just keep it put away and you'll be fine.

In March I did both these tours, and you're definitely in for a treat! For keys to the kingdom my family powered down our phones and put them in a purse. As for behind the seeds, our CM actually encouraged us to take a lot of pictures and even took pictures of my family! This is probably because the tour is pretty much on stage.

Know well you can always take pictures while onstage on all the tours, just not backstage. I have taken many tours, several multiple times, all the same photo rules, except one, the Train Tour. On that one, you can also take pictures most places backstage, except a few places, and they will let you know when those places are coming. I have taken a lot of pictures on the many tours, including the two in the OP.

When we did the Behind the Seeds last year we were allowed our phones and cameras and were even encouraged to take photos. At one point our guide took photos of us so people could get their full groups in one picture.

We did the steam train tour, have quite a few pictures from it, was awesome. Looking at doing the behind the seeds tour this summer.

Haven't done Keys to the Kingdom, but have done Behind the Seeds. Like the previous posters, they had no problems with phones. It's probably only KTTK that has an issue with it because you'd technically be seeing the things they hide from guests on purpose.

You can bring your phone on the tour, you just can't take any pictures or record in backstage areas. I think you may also have to keep your phone totally in your pocket so that there is no question of it being used to record/photograph things. Not as much of a big deal as you are imagining it to be. (eta: this was our experience on the KTTK tour)

Fun story time!

My mom, best friend and I did the Keys of the Kingdom tour. While we were on the tour "onstage," we found out my other best friend, who is my best friend's sister, was in the hospital ready to have a baby. We go backstage and our guide, who was awesomesauce, told us to turn off our phones. We told him about the baby coming and he said, "Okay. You can keep your phone on, but you have to promise not to take pictures." We solemnly swore and continued on the tour. Right before we were about to go down to the Utilidors my best friend checked her phone then raised her arms in the air in victory. The guide said, "Baby?" She yelled, "Baby!" and everyone cheered. Then she turned off her phone.

The end.

Thanks all for the answers! The Behind the Seeds tour was the one I was most concerned about. During Keys to the Kingdom, I don't really care if we have access to the "rest of the world", we need to get away from everyone but us:). However, on the day we will be at Behind the Seeds, I'm expecting my sister and her spouse. We will need to be able to get in touch with them and coordinate meeting up with them when they arrive at WDW.
