Is there anywhere in the park where you can get/buy a wrist band or badge for children to wear in case they get lost?

I was thinking of just making badges or something to put our mobile numbers on, but if there's something that would be more readily spotted by CMs etc then even better.

Thanks
Lucy

thats a good question and something I need to think about with my two, hope someone can help with the answer:thumbsup2

I've never noticed anything in the parks so it would probably be best to make/buy something before you go.

On our last trip we came across a little boy who was lost in front of the Castle. I told a CM who was sweeping the ground nearby and within seconds there were other CMs on the scene. Luckily the boy's parents hadn't gone far before they realised he was missing so they were quickly reunited but Disney obviously have it well organised for lost kids.

I have never seen anything in the park, but have not really looked.

We had some business cards printed. They give my DD name and both mine and my DH mobile numbers. We pop one into her pocket (usually one with a zip if she has one) and she knows if she gets lost to show it.

There are loads of sites that offer free business card, normally 250, with you only paying for P&P ( Just try searching: free "business cards"). I think we paid about £5.00. Also I know that there are some machines, I've usually seen the in stations, that will print business cards fairly cheaply as well.

The cards are also very useful when DD goes to a friend for tea or when she goes to a birthday party as she just gives a card to the mum.

If you haven't got time for this we used to make our labels and just put them in her pocket. We did this because we found that she got fed-up of having the bracelets on, especially if she needed to wear them on more than one day and the stickers always seemed to come off.

For those that are concerned I tip that I picked up.
Take a photo each morning of your cerubs, either with your camera or camera phone.
Then should the worst happen you will not have to rack your brains remembering what they are wearing :)

We do this as part of the morning routine for the holiday snaps, but the troops don't know it serves as another purpose ;)

I usally wrote the phonenumber with an texmarker on there arm."( use a waterproof marker)

Not so nice but they cant lose it.

Thanks guys, all good suggestions.

Someone I know was convinced that you could get something at the park, so I wanted to check with you lot, as there's not much you don't know.

I can easily run something up on the computer, I already bought the little hard plastic covers to make them rain and finger proof:rolleyes: .

Having searched the forum before posting, I had already come across the recommendation to take pics on a daily basis, but it is really worth knowing, and so much easier to show someone then trying to describe a child and their clothes (especially if language gets in the way). So thanks for that Cyrano.

Now I have to consult my lists to see what else I have to do in the next thirty-seven hours, forty-five minutes:coffee: (must remember to schedule in some sleeping time).

I'm not sure where we got them from, - BUT - it was from onsite - we've had in the past a cardboard clip on, which was all 'Mickey' branded.

It had space on it for you to write - so you could put a Mobile number or similar.

(Memory really isn't doing my any favors on this one - sorry).

There were some in a small dish on the Reception desk at Salon Mickey when we went in November - BUT this isn't where we've got them from previously. I'm think we've got them from the Disney Hotels, and I'm fairly sure that I've seen them in City Hall before.

Now he tells me - after I have just laminated my very own hand-crafted 'business' cards (well I did have to use my hands to operate the computer!).

Actually Iain that's handy to know, I'll keep an eye out while there and let you all know if and where they can be found - and then I can give a bit back after all the help I've been getting from you all over the last few months.

Thanks
Lucy

I was just about to post about this...

Thanks a lot for the tips. We're going back in April and I'm really worried about DD2 (she'll be 19 months then and running around) so really grateful about the ideas.

They have badges at the hotels and City Hall/ guest relations. They are in very heavy paper, have Mickey on them, and a place to write nameS/ phone numbers.

If you want something to last I know Boots sell wristbands that you can write your phone number on the inside of. I got some for my kids ages ago and they gave me piece of mind when we went to WDW earlier this year. They are bright yellow and come with a VERY permanent marker to write on them and there are three in a pack. I think they are about six quid and were in the baby section with the nappies and stuff. I'll be taking them for my three when we go in February to DLRP.
