Hi all -
I'm going to WDW on October 23rd and thought I would get my DME luggage tags and give them flight information. I'm staying at OKW - renting a DVC member's points.

Tried to search for the phone number I call but just got more confused :confused3 - sorry

Can someone please give me the phone number I call to begin the process of giving them my flight info and getting my luggage tags. Do I call Disney or DVC ??

Thanks for your help - sorry to be a bit "clueless."

For any reservations made at DVC resorts with DVC points, the arrangements for Disney's Magical Express (DME) need to be initiated through DVC Member Services. I would recommend asking the DVC member from whom you are renting to assist you.

Once the DME arrangements are in the system, you can call DME at 1-866-599-0951 with questions or to update flight information in your DME record. (The DME CMs don't have direct access to the DVC computer system, which is why DVC MS needs to put the record into the DME system.)

YIKES! I entered all my info on the website (the Magical Express questionnaire)but we are DVC members using points for our stay...are you saying that calling DVC Member Services is the only way to make these ME reservations? Did i just waste my time filling out the details for everyone in my party? You'd think Disney computers would kick out info that they can't process!

If the site accepted your entries, I would think everything is okay. You might want to call DME at 1-866-599-0951 to confirm.

At one time, the only way to make DME reservation when staying at a DVC resort on points was to call DVC MS.

Please let us know if you were successfully able to arrange DME online for a DVC reservation.

I'll call tomorrow and double check...will let you know! THANKS!

what is the phone number for DVC MS - is it an 800 number?

The phone number for DVC MS is on the back of the DVC membership card. It's a toll-free number, but it's funded by DVC member dues.

It should not be posted in a public forum.

gotcha - sorry - I didn't mean to offend. I just needed a phone number b/c i'm renting points and wanted to do the ME. I totally understand not posting since DVC members are paying it.

The saga continues...I DID call to check on the ME reservations which i had so smugly (and it turns out ERRONEOUSLY!!) believed I had entered on the www.disneysmagicalexpress.com site, using their online submission form. Long story short, when I called the DME # a while ago, they basically said that until about 40 days before my trip, nothing would show in their system, even if i had entered it. They couldn't tell me where that info might be vacationing between now and then, nor could they assure me it would magically reappear when the "around the 40th day" rolls around. They also said emphatically that if a reservation was made via DVC, then all DME reservations should be made thru DVC (Of course, the Magical Express website doesn't say that, nor does it kick out DVC reservation #s, plus it happily accepts and confirms receipt of the info and sends a confirming (sort of) email...but, hey,it's only time I am wasting) SO then I called Member Services which took forever because the CM also told me I was checking out a day earlier than I really was so we had to spend about half an hour to straighten that out...their error) Once we got to the DME issue, she had no idea about the website entry and said to call Member Services to make all ME reservations. She also said that, even tho we are a party of 9 coming on nine different flights out of different airports, that EVERYONE'S luggage tags would come to my address and then I would mail them to the other 8. Glad I asked. I think. Anyway, in the case of ME, looks like all the early bird gets is aggravation. No advantage to calling more than about a month before your flight.

DME packets (which include the tags in the booklet) are usually sent out not earlier than 21 days before your departure.

My annoyance is not related to when they send the packets. I know that they are sent out 21 days before your stay, adn I am fine with that. I just think it is bizarre (and probably should be noted somewhere by Disney) that if you SUBMIT your travel info more than 40 or so days before your trip, it might disappear and cannot be verified or corrected because the Disney system can't "see" it til then.. Sorry my post was not more clear.

That may explain why some people were not showing up in the database...interesting to see how this all pans out as time moves along. Thanks for your post so we all know not to do anything regarding DME until about a month before our trip so we have a better chance of not getting "lost" in the system.
