Hi!

Just four more sleeps to Disneyworld!

Only problem is that my husband will have to be on call for work and will have to check emails and make phone calls frequently. What have you found to be the most economical way of doing this? We are staying at Pop Century and I believe they charge $$ for every call made.

Thanks for the help!

Does he have a 1-800 number for work access? My DH always has to bring his laptop, cell phone and pager when we go on holidays.

I think they do charge for the 1-800 number call but confirm that when you check in. We used to dial in and then leave it connected for the length of time that we were in the room.

Keep your bill and tell the company that they need to pay the phone charges, unless of course you get on-call pay then I suppose that wouldn't be right.

If he has to check voice-mail and the company has a 1-800 number to do this, do it from a pay phone and then it doesn't cost anything.

Hopefully he won't have to do too much work while he's gone.

Do call from a pay phone (you can buy a phone card offsite but they only work from a pay phone). Everytime you pick up the phone in your room to an outside line costs you $.75. This happened to us when we tried our dial up internet - we were trying to access a local provider number-everytime the laptop attempted to dial out it cost another $.75 - you should have seen the look on our faces when we had a $52.00 phone bill when we checked our room charges at guest services. There was nothing they would do about it-won't be doing that again. I think I read that the only time you are not charged for a call is if you dial the operator and ask them to connect you to another room or to another WDW resort.
