Phone cards as tips

I had read that some people tip the counselors in the clubs with phone cards etc. What increment did you tip? Also how many did you use as tips? TIA!

It has been quite a while since I cruised, but I stocked up on the multi-packs of AT&T cards from Sams Club to use as additional tips to those that gave excellent service. I know that those Cast Members can use those cards to call home when they are in port.

We also did the Sam's Club thing and we were pleasantly surprised at how well they were received! We got the package of 60 minute cards, I think there were a dozen in the package.

We also bought a pack at Costco and ended up bringing several home. Probably just our crew, but they did not seem to be received very well. We had a lost luggage issue that Ericka took such great care of, we gave her two of them and that was it.

Another item to consider are Walmart gift cards. I bought several of them off of their website and am taking them on our cruise. I found out there is a Walmart near the port and crew members can go there and get personal items they may need. For more info on the cards go to www.walmart.com and look for their gift cards, I think they have them in 7 different amounts from $10.00 up to $200.00.

I gave each of the five counselors in Common Grounds a 60 minute ATT prepaid phone card. I also gave one to each of our servers and our cabin steward, in addition to a regular "cash" tip (I tipped about double the suggested to everyone in cash--they were worth it!)

I gave one to each of the kids to give to thier favorite CM. This time I think I'll go with more cards in lower demoninations. Common Grounds seem to have lots of exceptional CM's and my DD had a hard time picking just one.

They seemed to be well recieved as lots of folks don't even think about the people who entertain thier kids.
