I remember for years cameras/flash photography was not allowed on dark rides or shows. In my opinion the phone cameras should not be allowed on dark rides or shows. There are people with many different low vision problems that a light of that sort compromises the person's vision. I have advanced macular degeneration which is just one of the many low vision problems that camera lights in a dark situations is a problem. I attended multiple HR conferences at the Disney Institute and Disney HR stated that the restrictions on flash photography or lights in the dark rides and shows was to enhance the enjoyment of the guest. Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hall of Presidents and Haunted Mansion were their examples. I guess that is not the case now. I feel sure that the majority of guests would not have a problem with the restrictions now.
