Phone calls

Why is it when someone calls early in the am or late in the pm, I automatically think the worst thing has happened to someone?

There's no telling what I say in the am if someone calls and wakes me up though.

Not all phone calls, Jason. I love it when a telemarketer calls and tells my ds we've won a trip to WDW. The expression on his face is hysterical.

I don't have caller ID, Todd. I let the answering machine pick it up sometimes, but then I wonder if it's an emergency if they'd leave a message. I have callwave when I'm online and it startles me when I see the "ring ring" message too.

Being a substitute teacher I'm used to early AM calls!

But....calls late in the night, I get SO nervous to answer esp with a DS at college.

We had one of those calls last Sunday at 3:30 am - one of the kids grabbed a cell phone from DD's friends and proceeded to call all the numbers listed in her directory and then hang up. DD was home , in bed. I, too, have caller ID and called the phone right back - I was NOT amused!

I just figure it is Boo calling for Simba or his girlfriend Cali.

Pam, I wonder what that girl's parents would've thought if she accidently called her own house at 3:30 am.

Jeez,

I dread answering the phone for those wierd hour phone calls since my kids are away from home.

Once I had the PTA president call me at 6:45 a.m. and ask for help with a volunteer project. Unbelievable, but at least it wasn't bad news.

Like you Shannon, I too think the worst when the phone rings early in the morning or late at night..............

I've had calls at 2am & it wasn't even meant for us..............but they rang twice & I was worried something was wrong with my Mum

I hate those calls too but I usually think it's work calling me. I try not to panic because I have no control over what might have happened.

Hate those telemarketers - ever had one call around 9pm?

Yep, me too. Hubby used to work in an area called "the crusher"....they crushed BIG chunks of rock and once in a while, a person would get caught in the machines and get killed. I HATED late night phone calls when he was at work......

I agree, calls at odd times of the day make my heart skip a beat. I hate when that happens!

Actually, I've grown to like middle of the night calls because that's when Titus calls Ashli. There haven't been many of them (less than a half a dozen) so it's still really an event when he calls. LOL, come to think of it I guess it would still be an event even if he called everynight since we haven't seen him since March.

I'm the same way, if I get a call very early or very late I expect bad news and I'm rarely disappointed. Thank goodness I haven't had a very early or late call in a long time.
