I am sure everyone has seen the big red phone booth in England. My friend got the number to it and I was wondering if anyone has ever come home and called it. I was wondering if it works to recieve calls??

If it has a 'real' phone number listed on it, it can receive calls.

Phones that are outgoing-only do not have phone numbers.

Why don't you get the number from your friend, and call it during the day (use a cell-phone with free Long Distance) and see if someone picks it up.
Ask to speak with "Sir Mickey" or "King Simba" or "Princess Aurora" or...

OMG - this is soooo neat. Imagine the expression on the person answering the phone while walking thru WS!!!

The more I think about this, the less likely I think you can "ring" this phone.

With SO MANY guests who carry cell-phones with them at Epcot, I'd think the "Red Booth" would be ringing 11am-9:30pm (or longer) every single day.

And... since I have never heard it ring in all the times I've stood near it... I doubt that it's number is valid.

But let us know.

This thread has made me smile!! When i go to Epcot (Friday May 12th) i will go and listen for the phone ringing.

Phone booths used to be everywhere like this, i can remember one by the local police station (well, it was his house that doubled up as the station!!)

could you imagine posing for a picture in front of that booth/in that booth...all of a sudden it starts ringing and the person asks for Mary Poppins or something.

I feel sorry for the person who may answer the telephone as it gets really hot in that box. I thought it would be fun to call my Mum from there (as girlsontour said they used to be everywhere in the UK - sadly no more) but even in November it as so hot I had to keep the door open and I was sweating buckets!

Every time we go, my kids always use that phone booth to call their grandparents at home. While they are talking, we take their pictures! It would be cool to also answer a call but I don't think it receives. It's still fun to place a call though!

I don't remember seeing this phone but I am going to find it next time I go home (to WDW). By the time we were going through world showcase, it was the end of our week and I was suffering DISNEY SENSORY OVERLOAD. But I can't wait to notice ALL the things I didn't notice the first time!
