Phone booth in Epcot...

Myself and DBF stood in one to get out of the rain during F & W one day. The phone rang three times and I answered each time but no one wanted to talk

I called this week when I was close enough to see who answered but where he wouldn't see me. He was a 13-14 yo. I told him I had lost my prince and needed help finding him. He told me he thought the prince was at the castle waiting for me. I told him I couldn't find my way and could he give me directions. He gave me directions from EPCOT to MK I asked how I would know which man was my prince and he told me mine would be tall and holding a rose for me.

Ooooh, so sweet! There's a young man that's not too old for the magic!

eta: well someone just ruined it for me. I finally got through again and the guy was a real jerk.

You should have told him you worked for Disney and he was being monitored by video surveillance while security was on the way to escort him out of the park.

Now there's an idea! I'll try to remember that next time (I know there will probably be another one because I got another rude person later who said some words I can't say on the DIS). I kept calling for a while though and got some nice people and people who played along when I was being silly!

I didn't read through all these pages but just had a clever idea. My kids have done pics in the booth before bit I had no idea they worked. Next time I'm going to try and get one of those phone call services to call, so it sounds like Mickey is calling. Anyone done that before? I <3 these threads and all the additional magic I get from all off you!

We were there this week and the every time we called the right booth all we got was static when the receiver was picked up. Thus the left and center phones got all our calls. Calling can be lots of fun when you can see the folks in the booths.

I called around the holidays and got people to pick up. It doesn't always work and people don't always pick up.

It was definitely working two weeks ago when I called. Quite a few people hung up on me, but I got a few good chats in. I found (if I remember correctly) the second number works best.

thats what i got too I guess they got rid of it??? This makes me so sad.

We are heading down on Friday. I just heard my DH whispering to DS about how he discovered these phone numbers. I had to burst his bubble and let him know they weren't working anymore. Bummer. We tried all of them and got "your call cannot be completed as dialed".

I'm not upset over Disney switching them off. After all, they had no control over the type of folk calling or the things being said, to little kids at that.

I hope Disney grabbed the opportunity and rigged the booths up to randomly ring with a good selection of recordings pertaining to the UK area and/or the Disney characters. If they added some giggles in, all the better Anyone going down, please check to see what's going on there.

Universal actually does this with the pay phone outside the Quik-E-Mart beside the Simpson's ride. It rings randomly and when you pick it up you get one of a number of Simpson's characters talking to you.
