Phoenix Air Fare

My friend from AZ and I are trying to plan a WDW trip some time this year. She has never been to WDW only Disneyland. I have never paid over $200.00 for air fare from Chicago to Orlando but when I look at the air fare from AZ to MCO I'm shocked. It's like twice the air fare that I'll be paying. Can someone tell me what kind of price for air fare that I should be looking for and is there a certain airline that I should check?

Check Southwest Airlines - fares from Phoenix usually run around $200.00 round trip. Stay away from the major airlines unless they are running sales. Have a good time!

I checked SW and the earliest she can get to Orlando is 2:35 PM.
Does this sound right?
Because I was going to arrive in MCO at 10:18 and since we're not getting a rental car I really didn't want to sit in the airport for 4 hours. I suppose I caould take a later flight. I really appreciate any help you can give me. This will be our first trip together.

We're flying in from Phx on May 31st- We booked America West at $320 a ticket because we'd rather fly nonstop than mess around in airports all day. A lot of the tickets from Phx that are cheap have stops and/or have limited seats available. I checked for months and decided to spend the extra money for a quicker trip. As it is, we lose 3 hours- we depart at 9 am and don't arrive until 4 with a 4 hour flight.

Thanks, I have been checking America West and I found some really good deals. We just have to pick a time but I'm sure that's what we'll use.

We paid $220 with tax for our May trip. I have never paid more than $240 in 7 years from Phx.
But we have only traveled in May and Sept.
We also always fly Non-Stop.

there are usually cheap fares but you have to book ahead. I have never really seen them higher than $400 and thats Easter, Xmas, etc.
