PHM15: A Frozen Cupcake Celebration & Carnage as No Cupcake is Left Behind

4 Parks in 1 Day sounds tiring, especially considering the races. Looks like you are onto a good start!

4 parks in 1 day after a race ... wow! I don't know if you made it or not (I suppose I'll find out), but I never could have done it. I was so exhausted from the early wakeup that I barely made it through 1 park ...

I think it's hard to decide whether it's best to do the races at the beginning, middle, or end of the trip. We did our one race at the beginning of the trip, and I think that worked out okay, but I really would have prefered to arrive in Orlando more than 12 hours before the race. Next trip we're hoping to do 2 races and do them in the middle of the trip (that's just how it works out best for our schedule), and I don't know how that will work out. I think it's a process of trial and error and figuring out what works best for you.

:crutches:4 parks in 1 day before your race! Seeing as I know you ladies survived. I'm glad the plan is to play afterward in 2016.

Park #2…Finally Some Cupcakes
I still have no idea why we had to go back to AKL; Cammy thinks it was for her phone…but for whatever the reason we still pulled out of the AK parking lot ahead of the Tweedles who were rushing to get to DHS. Our detour was brief and on our way to DHS we received a text from Tweedle Bossy, telling us that they were about to eat some cupcakes! So of course, what do the 3 of us do…rush to meet them!

1.jpeg
We found Tweedle Confused outside holding the table and Tweedle Bossy inside take pictures of all the yummy treats. Finally, the cases FULL of all the flavors we had been dreaming of the last year. With so many choices it was hard to decide, but there were a couple that we knew we just had to try. Tweedles picked out Peanut Butter Chocolate and the Butterfinger,

3a.jpg
While we had to go with the Flat Kafi’s favorite Red Velvet Cheesecake

2.JPG
And knowing that Flat Debra would pout we also picked out the Glass Slipper (no chocolate…which really was not a problem since we had to get it for the theme of the weekend).

3.JPG
Of course we had to share and tasted a little of each. Cupcake craving satisfied for the time being, we headed out to use our first fast pass of the day…which Tweedle Confused also had an overlapping time for…

5.jpeg
We left Tweedle Bossy in charge of all the bags near the entrance to catch a little nap and then headed for the fast pass line. WHOA….I wish I would have taken a picture because the fast pass line looked nearly as long as the regular line. Thinking we were making a mistake we walked up to the front of the line only to learn that only 1 elevator was working and yes, the end of the line is clear back where we left Tweedle Bossy. What luck we are having with rides today, not good! We watched lots more people do the exact same thing as we did…INCLUDING THE GROUP OF CHEERLEADERS THAT DECIDED TO PLOW ME OVER! No way was I going to let them cut the FP line as we heard their adult leader try to do with the people in front of us…we have a window just like you! Thankfully I did not morph back into my evil twin as the line started to move. Behind us was a family of 4 with a little guy who was not so sure about the ride along with a little sister what was apparently the dare devil of the family (look at back row of elevator picture). I have so been in those shoes dragging a reluctant child onto this ride. We did our best to console the little guy. When it was finally time to load into our elevator, I handed off one of the Flats to Tweedle Confused as apparently I was getting a little too attached and selfish with the Flats. Really I handed her off so that just in case I needed to hold on…

6.jpeg
NAH, who needs to hold on? I have to tell you that this was probably one of the best sequences of drops that I have ever experienced on ToT! So wish the wait time was less to we could have ridden again. We found Tweedle Bossy right where we left her and made our way back down Sunset Blvd where we said goodbye to the Tweedles who were heading to their next park and us to our next fast pass which was Sing Along with Anna & Elsa! Along the way we spotted...

7.JPG

but really had to time to wait in the line for pictures. Why not sing Let It Go another time today? Before the show started we had the most annoying little girl, probably no more than 3 years old, behind us who kept squealing at the top of her lungs and kicking our chairs. Grumpiness sat in on all of us until…

8.JPG
The show began and this little demon behind us turned into the cutest little angel…singing at the top of her lungs and every time Anna or Elsa would appear she would scream out their names! Totally a magical moment for us to see her so happy and excited! Afterwards, we made our way back across DHS to use our 3rd FP of the day…

9.JPG
One that I had been planning to ride with Amy for many years! And of course we had to drag the 2 frightened flats with us.

10.jpeg
With the FP used and DHS completed we headed off towards Epcot via the walkway to the BW area. Looking back we should have used the boats…

Quite the start to the adventure. Looks like the Yeti is bothered by the cold but Elsa isn't. Great Photopass photos tho! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the day.

You would think that the Yeti could handle Elsa's cold...grrr!

It's such a tricky thing being at WDW during race weekend & figuring out how to still have fun post race, but not over-do it. I am already trying to put together a plan for Dopey since I will be there for a week. Obviously I don't want to push myself hard playing around in the parks, but I know keeping moving is good too. Thank goodness I still have plenty of time to work all of that out, but I know I will end up in the parks a little bit since I will be there solo most of the trip.

You have a set of ears for me??!! I feel so special now!!! Yea!! and I am happy about new shirts for W&D!

Is it bad that I already have a spread sheet going for W&D16? I am trying to convince myself that I don't need to do it all and eat it all...UGH! I have my favorite ADRs but I know from experience that with W&D you don't need a meal!

Yes I still have ears for both you and Kafi! Maybe in July I will drop them off in Weatherford when we drop DS#1 off at band camp.

we started off well....

For ToT we did all of the trip a week before and went home the afternoon after staying up all night for ToT 10-miler. I vowed then never to get on a plane right after a half marathon. Also, I want to drink and eat...not worrying about the half...so it looks like W&D16 Cupcake Reunion will find us arriving in time for Expo and playing afterwards!

:crutches:4 parks in 1 day before your race! Seeing as I know you ladies survived. I'm glad the plan is to play afterward in 2016.

So glad we figured this out the hard way...we need party time with Kafi!

Well even with your detour in the beginning you still managed to so much. Those cupcakes look really good especially the Cinderella one. You guys had some great Photopass photos as well.

I am impressed that you were able to hold onto the flats on EE, RnR, ToT...I probably would have dropped Kafi or myself. I love RnR though...it is the one ride I truly scream on though.

I have a few things on a computer doc for W&D, not much though. Mostly just costume stuff...and...that's it really lol. The F&W food looks awesome though. I can't wait to see next years selections. Marathon weekend on the other hand, I have more stuff written down already mostly because I know I will be there by myself most of the week.

Those cupcakes look yummy from Starring Rolls. The Butterfinger one would be perfect...except for all that chocolate. The red velvet cheesecake one looks good, but I don't know that I could eat that much red velvet cake. The Cinderella one was cute. Perfect for PHM weekend.

La, La, La (that's me singing) I got my red velvet cupcake!! I think I would have ate Debra's glass slipper one. They both look so yum! I survived EE and TOT that is totally flat me cuz real me would be like :crazy2:!
Can't wait for more 4 park day hopping stories.

Park #3…Dragging Our Way Through
We left DHS via the walkway between DHS & BW Resort. I am really not sure why we did not take the boats other than probably that we thought they would waste our time since they stop 4 other places before arriving at Epcot.

imagesCA72K91G.jpg

Looking back at it, we should have taken the boat ride because by the time we reached the BW we were all running on fumes. So much so that we decided we needed another cupcake to help and stopped at the BW bakery…guess what they had…a line AGAIN that wrapped 2 or 3 times around the inside queuing system. Oh well, we have one more attempt at the cupcake of my dreams...Oreo Truffle coming up on Sunday night. The third time is the charm, correct?

BLG402.jpg

Seriously, I have stayed at the BW and visited the bakery often and never had to stand in line. It was not long before our ADR, so sadly we just moved on. We figured that somewhere along the way we would stop and get something to drink in the world, but instead we just keep going. Never stopping, by the time we reached Future World we HAD to find something to eat and drink.

IMG_2069.JPG
Settling down near Test Track we looked up wait times and found there was nothing that we could really walk on in the time we had left. We did not make RULES to 4 parks, we just said we had to enter 4 parks…next time I need to find out more about this 4 park thing from the Tweedles and do it correctly with Rules. Feeling a little better with some food in our tummies we stopped for the picture to prove we had made it to park 3….

Before boarding the monorail to take us to our evening ADR…a meal that had been in the works since 2012!

I was a little disappointed with the Cinderella...while it was pretty to look at (and since they have even prettier ones now...GRRR) it was just a standard vanilla cupcake dressed up!

I am impressed that you were able to hold onto the flats on EE, RnR, ToT...I probably would have dropped Kafi or myself. I love RnR though...it is the one ride I truly scream on though.

Costumes...ugh I have thought a little but not much! I really have to look into marathon week...that one is going to be tricky since we will be coming straight off of Christmas Break. I probably will end up staying AFTER and just get there on time for full.

Not only did you survive...but you are ready to do it in real life!

Can't believe you walked from DHS to Epcot instead of taking the boat. I love the boardwalk bakery and haven't experienced much of a line there before. That Mickey pretzel looks very good. Can't wait to hear about your meal.

Excited to hear about the meal thst has been in the works since 2012.
You and Cammy almost have me convinced on EE but man I am
A certified bonafide wuss when it comes to TOT!!! I would be worse than the screaming cheerleaders!!

I know what meal is coming up & man oh man am I sad to have missed it!!

BW!! BW!! BW!!! Seeing pictures of BW Bakery make me happy because I can see the balcony from our club level room we stayed at in 2012. The big balcony just above the word "Bakery"...yep, that was ours. AMMMMMAZING!! Anyways, I have never waited more than a couple people in the bakery either, no matter what time of day. I will be seeing lots of the BW come Marathon weekend 2018, that is where I have decided to stay...yeah!!! I will be there Mon-Mon, so after being there a week, there will be no way I can stay any longer  We will have to plan well for meeting up at the race. Hubby & the kids are still planning on coming Friday night to Monday. We will figure out something though, that is still a long way from now.

I didn't know there were "rules" for 4 parks in 1 day either. I would think entering & doing "something"...whether is be a ride, show, food...that would be my thoughts.

Ohana Means Family

I HAVE NOW REALIZED WHAT A TERRIBLE PHOTOGRAPHER (both lacking in picture taking and quality of pictures) I WAS ON THIS TRIP…me the scrapbooker who takes pictures of everything, didn’t this trip. What is up with that?

While on the monorail Betsy texted and wanted to know if we were on our way, as she, Lisa and Carol were waiting for us to get our Lapu Lapu on! The 6 of us had early dinner reservations at Ohana, which was a meal 3 years in the planning for Amy, Betsy and myself. Entering POLY Amy had to spend a little time looking around at all the changes in the lobby, since the POLY is the resort her family likes to call home on their trips.

1.jpg 2.jpg

I have to say I love the openness of the lobby now and it is beautifully decorated, but totally miss the waterfall and how lush it was. It does seem more modern and not so “Brady Family Goes Hawaii” blast from the pass. We quickly found the rest of our party (at the bar) where a round of Lapu Lapus was ordered and just as we got them, our table was ready.

3.JPG 4.JPG

Last time I ate at Ohana’s I was disappointed in all the trees and vegetation that blocked the windows and the view to MK. Now with all the construction those had been cleared and we had a perfect view of MK from our table at the window. Although having a huge open window behind you really makes for bad pictures.

5.JPG
I really don’t remember much of dinner other than it was really good. I think we were all so tired of our lack of sleep and our park adventures that it was all a blur. I do remember at some point Amy apparently fell asleep, we met Melissa who was dining at another table close by, Betsy insisting that we wait for the more “expensive meats” and not get filled up on the first ones they brought around, and then there was Cammy who loved the noodles so much that she asked for just a little more and they brought her a huge serving.

6.jpg 7.jpg

8.JPG
Of course something that I did not forget,

9.JPG
I want some NOW! As the meal drew to a close I remember feeling extremely happy that finally this meal was happening…even though Heather was not along (next time). Betsy, Amy and I had been through a lot since that meal originally was planned back in 2012, it was totally bittersweet! And they are not just my friends, but my family!

10.JPG
The next question on our minds, would this family of mine make it to our 4th park of the day.

The pretzel was very GOOD! Of course by then we really needed something...

Excited to hear about the meal thst has been in the works since 2012.

There is NO OPTION YOU ARE RIDING EE and YOU ARE RUNNING A MARATHON!

I missed having you share the bread pudding with me...

I can't believe how much you already have planned for 2018!

Don't think that our W&D trip is going to have a 4 park day...although I would really like to try to do it again...but with needing a much needed date to the Dark Side with Ron there just may not be time, plus MVMCP! I am still trying to figure out how to squeeze in the AK Safari Trek.

I have done Ohana for breakfast and it was really good but I have never done dinner. I also like the lobby being more open but I wish they could've had a little but bigger of a water feature than they have in the lobby. Can't wait to hear about park 4.

Ohana looks so so good! Can't go wrong with meat and Lapu Lapus!! I am glad everyone enjoyed the dinner. Cammy as always being her cute funny self.
2018 marathon where is that emoticon that describes my feelings :crutches:.<---that right there!!

That bread pudding makes me want to lick the screen and the suspense of park 4

Mmmm Ohana is one of my faves!! Too funny that Betsy said to hold off & wait for the expensive meat lol.

It's kind of crazy how much thought I am already putting into 2018. Nuts really.

I don't think I will be joining you on the "dark side" to visit Harry, as much as I want to, that would mean staying another day after all the W&D fun & I just don't know if I can. Never say never though, I might...just have to hear what your plans are with that & go from there.
