PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

Oh yes. I've had this monstrosity, shared it with Savannah! I'm not ashamed to say I could put the whole thing down (ok, yes, I am) but I could. I LOVED it! The icing didn't seem too sugary to me, which is good because there is SO much of it. I think I also remember the top was "crusty" and crunchy. Mmmmmm

:worship for even attempting to eat this all by yourself...yep, I remember the top being "crusty" which really added great texture to the cupcake!

It was just how I like my Disney cupcakes...HUGE.

:scratchin Me too!!!

Yum!!! I MUST go to Starring Rolls this trip!

I bet you will make sure after you see the next few cupcakes...

Virtual 10: Platform 9 ¾K by the Hogwart’s Running Club
November 8, 2014

I have never done a virtual run before, so this was a new experience for me and great motivation to get out there for a much needed long run! Another cupcake introduced me to the Hogwart’s Running Club in FB. I love Harry (okay Ron) almost as much as I love Mickey and love to venture to the “dark side” of Orlando. So when I saw the Platform 9 3/4K medal I instantly fell in love and needed to add that bling to my growing collection! Cammy, being a huge Harry Potter Fan herself, signed up too and we decided to do it together just as soon as her doctor cleared her to begin running again!

With medals arriving safely (but not opened), bibs printed out, trail map in hand and cupcakes picked up for afterwards we made this virtual race into a trail run at our local state park. That way Cammy would be forced to take it slow and easy and we would have a great place to run our 6.05 miles.

The day was simply beautiful, one of those non windy days (which is pretty rare for us) along with great warm fall temperatures. We ended up plotting out 3 trails that basically ran into each other and were listed as easy or moderate on the map to run for our race. The map made it look so easy, but there were several times when we found ourselves having to search for the start of the next trail.

Along the route back we ran into something so fitting for a Harry Potter themed race and Cammy stopped to talk to it in Parseltongue while I stayed as far back as I could…she felt sorry for the poor little guy and tried to remove him from the trail.

Run finished, we opened up our envelopes to reveal the bling! Took our pictures and celebrated with of course cupcakes!

Sorry I haven't been keeping up. I have been in such a funk the last few weeks after finding out I cant do PHM weekend & it is like rubbing salt in a wound everytime I read about plans from you girls. But, I am super excited for everyone & still looking forward to following along on the journey.

Wednesday Wonderings

In honor of a new resort reservations (even just for 1 night), let's do some resort dreaming. I like to say that a resort is a place to lay your head...but on this trip I want more from the resorts I stay at...this trip I want a little (or a lot) of down time sipping a drink poolside....

1. Where are you staying at for PHM (and dates)?
2. What resorts have you stayed at in the past?
3. What is your favorite/least favorite resort you have stayed at?
4. What is your DREAM stay resort?

1. No longer attending :sad2:

2. CBR
BW (Deluxe CL room)

3. Favorite -- BW
Least favorite - CBR (just because of the long walk everywhere)

4. Dream resort -- BC

Race Report
HITS Oklahoma City-10K
Sunday, October 12, 2014

Of all the non-Disney Races that I have ran, the HITS OKC was the one that I was looking forward to the most because I was not going to have to run this alone…DISmeet/race! My 2 DIS Oklahoma neighbors and I decided this would be a great race together, plus we could get in a 10K to submit for time for PHM. The theme for this race should have been “WHAT?” It started off with a special shirt for the race but somehow the first one sent ended up being one about Running for Wine?! WHAT? Not for this race, although a good reason to run! The lady that I ordered from sent out the correct one, which should have arrived on time because on Thursday prior to the race it had arrived in my town and then on Friday the tracking showed that it had been sent to another town 2 hours away...WHAT?! Sad that I did not get to wear my new shirt (which I will share another time), I ended up going with my favorite running shirt. On Saturday, I picked up…

Priorities but they did not have the normal Saturday flavor that I wanted to get, WHAT? Saturday afternoon, Debra messaged that she now she still was not feeling good and would not be making the race or the trip…WHAT? I was very broken hearted about not having her along! She lives 2 hours away and we have yet to meet up after almost 2 years into our Disney/Running Friendship! But I know we have a couple more races planned for meet ups and of course PHM so all it good…It was so easy to get up EARLY Sunday morning to make my way to OKC, which for me is about a 4 hour drive, because I was a bundle of nervous excitement. Of course I had to stop off for both some car and prerace fueling long before the sun would appear…

Yum…my standard prerace fuel…chai tea latte and oatmeal! Not long I found myself on the open highway with my new 10K Running Playlist going and thank goodness for Siri…a little hands free texting with Amy who was getting up and around to make her drive to meet me in OKC (for her 2 hours). As I made my way down the road, I thought about the last 4 years of my friendship with Amy. We met on the DIS when we both were planning Christmas trips for 2010 and for me it was like an instant bond. It just clicked between the 2 of us, I think because we lead pretty similar lives, share the same humor and outlook on the things that happen in life. We had planned on running ToT in 2013 together, but life happened and got in the way of our Disney Trip together…but she was still by my side in spirit through the whole event! The drive east is pretty uneventful…

There is the North American’s largest cross (which I passed as at dawn), then the state line (potty break time), Debra’s hometown (which I waved and passed through feeling a little sad…

messaging her that I would pick her up if she felt well enough to ride along)…all with my nerves building so much that I had to find something to calm my nerves…

I texted Amy, who told me that she had dibs on the chocolate one and it better be left by the time she got the race. I am not sure what I was expecting when I pulled into Remington Race Track Park, but what I found was not what I was expecting. WHAT? For some reason I had in my mind a HUGE race…after all this was going to be a full marathon, ½ marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 mile run so you would expect LOTS OF CARS. Wrong, the parking lot was pretty empty as I drove though looking where to go. I spotted a race start inflatable arch and knew I was going in the right direction but still I was a little confused because I expected a run expo (cause they put out a really nice race book and it had some coupons and mention of a race expo) and all I saw was a few porta potties and a couple of awnings.

I parked and headed towards the awnings and found the table to pick up my race packet (bib, t-shirt, a couple of fliers, and a little travel stick of deodorant for MEN). WHAT?

I must say that I love this shirt...so soft and I like the design! I have worn it quite a few times now on runs. Now I was nervous…I thought I was going to be hidden among the crowd when I ran and it was looking like my turtle speed was going to be front and center for this race…and considering I had not run a lot in the last month thanks to my never ending shin issues, I was in TROUBLE. I received a text from Amy that she is about 10 minutes out and wanted to know where I was…of course I truthfully answered her my current location…inside the cleanest of the 3 porta-potties (and let me tell you they were NASTY). I headed back towards my car when I got the text that she had just pulled in so I started scanning the sparsely populated parking lot and found her climbing out of her car. You would think that this would be awkward meeting for the first time, but from the quick hug you would think that we see each other on a daily basis because it was instant chatter about normal every day stuff. We walked over to the tent and picked up Amy’s bib and then tried to decide what to do with ourselves for the next 2 hours since we had arrived so early expecting a HUGE Race. So what do a couple of girls do…walk down the hill to the race track casino and play a little slots. I feel like I need to make a little disclaimer here, we decided to walk down there for a clean bathroom and we just happen to head upstairs to look around which just happens to be a casino (yep, that’s my story and I am sticking to it). Another disclaimer…I have watched other people play slots 1 other time and tried a little but gave up because I just did not understand what was happening. Amy had a couple of dollars and all I had was a $20 with me which ended up in the machine and off we were killing the wait time in the best air possible, ROFL. You should have seen us in our running apparel walking around trying to figure out which machines to play on a Sunday morning…I am sure we were a sight to the regulars.

We chatted, we played, we cashed out…both of us as winners. For someone who just pushes the button to play and has no clue what is going on…I made $35.05 on the slots…

as we walked across the parking lot back to the race start I prayed that I had some luck left for the run because I had a feeling I was going to need it. As we waited, we talked about how we were going to run this race and put together a game plan…what we did not know that within a mile that entire game plan was going to change. The crowd had grown a little more while we were taking our bathroom break, but not much at the start of the 10K I would say there was less than 75 people. WHAT? Ugh, not a good thing when you are to 40+ girls who are out just to survive and get a corral time. But we would make the best of it until we came face to face 1 mile in to the HILLIEST course I have ever seen. WHAT? Amy being a native from Oklahoma was a little stunned too, WE BOTH THOUGHT Oklahoma was flat…WRONG! We tried to get into sync with our intervals but the hills were proving to be killers and we started running down as much as we could and then walking up. The great thing was that we had a group of walkers behind us, so no matter what happened we would not be last! After about 3 miles Amy sent me on ahead of her as at this point for her it became just to finish the race and she knew I needed to push myself a little harder. I felt really awful leaving her, but I knew that she had to work out this course and distance on her own…plus a mile into it we knew that we would NOT being using this 10K for our proof of time…thank goodness we had another 10K picked out in November.

Look Amy brought her own cheering section...

Running along Route 66...

Only 1 of about 10 hills on this course...and this one was not the worst of them!

I finished the 10K in a decent time considering the hills, talking much of the first 3 miles, and not being where I wanted to be in my training at this time. After I finished, I went back and walked the course until I met up with Amy who was about a mile behind me and then walked and cheered her on to the finish. She made it…her first long race and under the time that she had set for herself despite the course from H***. I was so proud of her for sticking it out and finishing. We sat around recovering as awards where being handed out…the finisher medals had been misplaced and would be mailed out later. We kept searching for the official race times posted, but never found them so instead we headed back to the cars for our little celebration in the parking lot…before saying goodbye and making our drives back home.

This picture makes me laugh...I am short and Amy is tall so trying to get a selfie of the 2 of us was quite entertaining! The drive home was interesting...I ran into a huge rain and wind storm...WHAT, this was not in the forecast, not fun at all...

On a side note a few days later, race results were posted and apparently Debra ran the race for me as her name was posted instead of mine (even though they called my name out when I crossed the finish line) and I ended up coming in 2nd for my age group and had an award. Amy was able to get the name thing straightened out for me and then I emailed about my award being sent to me. They wanted me to pay $10 for it to be shipped to me. WHAT? I protested that I sat there for the awards and my name was never called (duh, cause I was Debra according to them but then again I never heard her name either) and that I should not have to pay to get my award since it was their fault my name was never called…they did not back down and quoted from their run book that all awards not picked up on the day of the race were subject to a shipping fee. I again protested that I could not pick it up because there were no official race results posted and that how would I know that I won if they did not announce my name. Needless to say, they still have the award cause I aint payin! Plus it seems really weird to get a 2nd place plaque when there were only 3 people in my age division (and the person in 3rd was a walker). LOL.

The finisher medal came in the mail this week, love the OK theme. I am so sad Debra missed out on the fun...

Not my best run ever, but my FAVORITE RUN SO FAR BECAUSE did this race with my FRIEND, Amy…who has been a true friend to me through thick and thin the last 4 ½ years! I am not a trusting person when it comes to relationships, but she has shown me more than one time what a TRUE FRIEND is. She is one amazing lady and I am so proud she is my evil stepsister from another mother AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GET INTO TROUBLE WITH HER DURING THE PHM...with DEBRA keeping a tight rein on us as we stalk dark alley ways and hotel corridors looking to create nervous havoc!

I hate that I was sick and missed out on this. Glad you finally got the medals in the mail though. I have been meaning to ask.

Wednesday Wonderings

Debra and I were talking plans this week and we both need lots of MK-Wishes fixes as many as we can get in. Then we got to talking about other things in MK and which brought up my confession...

I HAVE NEVER SAT AND WATCHED A DISNEY PARADE

Okay let me put in a little disclaimer to that confession...I have seen electric light parade and I have seen bits and pieces of lots of the daily parades and even parts of the Halloween Parade from afar. But I have never really sat down and watched a parade like I want to. Looking at the schedule I think I have found a slight opening for which I can sit on Main Street and watch the Festival of Fantasy Parade. Wish me luck!!!

I have never watched electric water pageant...or been on Captain EO or Ellen's Energy.

If we go to MVMCP during our W&D 2016 race weekend, then you will have to watch the Christmas parade. It is beautiful at night.

Cupcake Friday
As if just being Friday is not sweet enough

King Cupcake
POP: Everything POP Food Court

After throughly checking at AoA on Wednesday morning, I think we will head across the way to POP so Cammy can see this resort too. While I love the theming of POP, it just is not the resort for me, at least for this trip. POP just seems busy to me and not a place where I would be comfortable enough to rest up for the big race....MORE LIKE HEARTBREAK HOTEL. While at POP we are going to have to POP (of course with our BLUE SUEDE SHOES on) into the food court because it is NOW OR NEVER for this HUNK, a HUNK OF BURNING LOVE or we will be singing some ROCK while we sit in the JAILHOUSE of cupcake shame. May I introduce to you the king of all cupcakes at Disney...THE KING, inspired by the POP icon himself, ELVIS.

This cupcake is a tribute to the King of Rock n Roll's favorite sandwich. What you have is a super moist chocolate cupcake filled with banana custard filling. The King is frosted with whipped peanut butter frosting and decorated with crispy bits of savory candied bacon, a white chocolate POP Centry logo and chocolate drizzle.

Reviews

The cupcake was nice and moist. I would’ve liked a bit more banana custard inside, but it was nice and tasty. The peanut butter icing was to die for. You really need to like peanut butter, which I do — so I loved the icing.

It was my first time eating candied bacon. It was different. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. I think it’s a bit of an acquired taste. I would definitely have this again.

My Thoughts?
I CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE with this cupcake, in fact it gives me FEVER just thinking about it! I personally think this is a well rounded breakfast...you have fruit, bacon, peanut butter (and chocolate) and I have already decided it will be my breakfast come Wednesday morning!

Your Thoughts?

I want to try this cupcake, but there is chocolate

Wednesday Wonderings

What is your favorite dining experience/meal at WDW?

I have quite a few wonderful dining moments at WDW...but if I had to pick my favorite meal of all time it would have to be at Nacroossee's! I am a steak kind of girl and they serve one of the best steaks to be found in all of WDW!

But I think our waiter was not to thrilled when I asked that the chef put the verde sauce on the side instead of on the steak. I like my steak flavor to be steak and not some sauce! Although the verde sauce was good! And dessert...well Almond Crusted Cheesecake was one of the best desserts in all of the world.

I can't wait to get dressed up again for a girls dinner here in February! And while I am always in search of new dining experiences at WDW, this was on both Cammy's & mine must repeat meals. This time I am enjoying a couple glasses of Moscato with my meal...not listening to running advice that I was given :rotfl2:

We always enjoy our meals at Le Cellier & I love Yachtsman. Eventually I want to eat at V&A with hubby.

Cupcake Friday
(As if just being Friday is not sweet enough)

Butterfinger Cupcake
DHS: Starring Rolls

Let’s hope on the bus at POP and take a short ride over to DHS where we will find a huge selection of cupcakes to satisfy our sweet tooth. The holy grail of Disney Cupcakes is at Starring Rolls in DHS. Now you have probably walked by it several times and not even known it was there, but trust me you are going to want to search this place out, it is worth a little back tracking!

For this week’s cupcake, we have one that I have had personal experience with…

the Butterfinger Cupcake! With just the name in mind let’s start on the outside & top of this MONSTROUS cupcake and work our way down & inside. The mound of this cupcake is decorated with crushed butterfingers! If who love butterfingers, like I do, there is lots and lots of pieces coating the HUGE mound of frosting. Once you carve your way through the Butterfinger topping you will find vanilla buttercream frosting, which is a nice compliment to the chocolate.

Under that mound of frosting you will find a chocolate cupcake and a very good chocolate cupcake…not dry, grainy or tasteless. Once you cut through the chocolate cupcake layer you will find a hidden surprise…a center filled with chocolate fudge!

Reviews
“It was pretty much one of the most delicious things EVER. “

“A treasure, certainly a cupcake worthy of a snack or better yet breakfast.”

“Year after year this cupcake remains on my top tier list of favorites, never a disappointment.”

My Thoughts?

I mentioned that I have had a personal experience with this cupcake, and yes for breakfast. While I loved the cake and the thick coating of Butterfinger candy bars, the frosting was WAY TOO MUCH for me! But then again, I tried to eat this cupcake all by myself. For me this is a cupcake to share with about 4 people, a couple of bites are all I need (and a huge glass of milk). Anyone want to meet me at Starring Rolls and share?

Your Thoughts?

Mmmm...Butterfinger
Yuck...chocolate

Motivation Monday

Only 71 more days till Cammy & I leave for PHM! I can’t believe how the year has gone by so quickly!

Even though I lots to motivate me last week, I sure did not get a lot of running accomplished. I ended with week with 3 walks of 2 miles and a run of 6.2 miles. A Christmas Program and a rainy drizzle sidetracked my 2 shorter runs for the week. Sure not where I need to be, but at least I am moving I suppose. This week I am doing the Barb Galloway Virtual 5K and already it is not looking good for evening runs thanks to lots of events…hopefully I can make sure that I walk every day at lunch! I hate saying this but, this week it is not a winter wonderland around here…and frankly, I don’t want any winter wonderlands until March!

How about a little YouTube Video to keep us motivated…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn0Fla_-hfI

I hear you on the winter wonderland! My kids were questioning where all the snow was and I was silently thanking mother nature that we don't have any snow right now! That stuff can stay away until Christmas Eve and then be gone by New Years!

So no running happened this past week for me. 2 words, Stomach Flu! Hit my house hard.

Well, it's another week so let's do this!

I still have no desire to train. How do I get motivated? I am in a serious funk. Plus all I do is drive, I have no desire to drag my butt to the basement to run, I just want to sit in fuzzy pajamas in front of the fire. Sadly my waist line is showing the effects of that laziness!

Someone drag me off the hamster wheel!!!!

I am not giving up hope...I am so sad about this. I totally understand that it hurts watching us continue to plan, trust me I am already missing you! But we do have other trips coming up, right?!? Cupcakes take on DL and Coast to Coast...

We have the same dreams...maybe for one night during W&D?

I hate that I was sick and missed out on this. Glad you finally got the medals in the mail though. I have been meaning to ask.

We have got to get your luck changing and get you well!

I have never watched electric water pageant...or been on Captain EO or Ellen's Energy.

Saw the electric water last trip...never been on Ellen and don't plan to...Captain EO, well very dated!

If we go to MVMCP during our W&D 2016 race weekend, then you will have to watch the Christmas parade. It is beautiful at night.

First thing on your list to do...have to do party and parade

I want to try this cupcake, but there is chocolate

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

We always enjoy our meals at Le Cellier & I love Yachtsman. Eventually I want to eat at V&A with hubby.

I think it would so much fun to really dress up and have a date at V&A

Mmmm...Butterfinger
Yuck...chocolate

How do you eat a butterfinger and not eat chocolate?

That snake still freaks me out!

Me too...it was only about 6 inches long, pretty much dead...but I swear if Cammy would have flipped it at me...

I hear you on the winter wonderland! My kids were questioning where all the snow was and I was silently thanking mother nature that we don't have any snow right now! That stuff can stay away until Christmas Eve and then be gone by New Years!

I know it can snow and melt off any day that I do not have a run scheduled. I am hoping though during Christmas break it will completely hold off so I can get some serious miles in!

So no running happened this past week for me. 2 words, Stomach Flu! Hit my house hard.

Well, it's another week so let's do this!

Hope everyone is on the mend...

What are we going to do with you...you saw our pictures over the weekend...even Karen running in rain poncho. Come on girl...I am so jealous of you doing glass slipper...I wished I would have gone for it...but I was so worried about injury sidelining me.

Wednesday Wonderings

Who is your favorite Disney Princess or Queen?

In my younger years I would have to pick Ariel as my favorite princess

(although in recent times I think it would be so much more fun to be Ursula and I have been known to use my best Ursula laugh and sing poor unfortunate souls).

Tonight (or most early mornings before dawn thanks to middle aged female insomnia, I really admire Sleeping Beauty!

I love Elsa because of her ability to tell those haters off in 1 song in the best way I have ever seen...love to use that line on a couple of people...

I love Elinor, her name is my beloved Grandmothers and I see a lot of her in me as a parent...yep, I am demanding!

Hmmm, I don't know if I have a favorite. I like princesses that push the limit of being a princess usually or at least have something redeeming about them other than being pretty and being able to sing. ;)

Mulan was the first that came to mind, I also think Anna doesn't get enough cred for being the brave one in Frozen. Belle for putting her father first and being pretty fearless. My true favorite I think is Alice, even though she's not a princess or a queen. She questions everything, I like that. :goodvibes

I know, deep princess thoughts this morning!

We definitely need to do some serious talking about C2C in 2016! I am totally up for the idea. Main thing for me was getting my C2C in WDW & not DL, I know...I am weird. It would just mean more to me getting it in WDW. So...yes, lots to talk about after PHM.

BC for a night during W&D sounds like a dream!! And MVMCP!

Butterfingers...its weird because I will eat chocolate candy or brownies, just want nothing to do with chocolate cake...or chocolate ice cream. I am a weirdo ;)

Favorite princess would have to be Belle I think. I do like Elsa, but I think Belle is my favorite.

If you're a weirdo, so am I! I only like chocolate in small doses, when mixed with things like peanut butter or caramel. Unless we're talking about white chocolate (which isn't even really chocolate). I could eat a pound of that!

Cinderella is my favorite, for totally sentimental reasons. I also love Belle...brown-haired princess who reads! What's not to love?

Reese's are my other favorite...Butterfinger is my #1. OOH...and Twix. Yeah, I really have no problem with chocolate candy at all. I mean, you wont find me buying a whole Hershey's bar, but I will eat the mini ones.

And white chocolate  One of my favorite desserts is a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. :cloud9:

Hi Cupcakes!

I haven't checked in in forever and I apologize for that. I've done some reading, just haven't had time to comment much. I was doing really well on my race traiing, but it got cold in Florida and I find that highly unmotivating. (I know I should stop whining since so many of you run in crazy weather...I'm just a wimp!) I haven't run at all this week, which is surely going to make Saturday's 3.5 miles pretty hard. I did purchase another layer to run in though so hopefully that will help since I run so early in the morning.

So far three of my girlfriends who were running have backed out! Our group is dropping like flies! At least my roommate is still with me since I bought my plane ticket and park ticket (non-refundable military ticket) already!

Butterfinger cupcakes are one of my FAVORITE Disney snacks! I agree they are great for breakfast and to be shared. I'm intrigued by the King cupcake. Wish I'd seen that the one time I'd stayed at Pop! I don't get there too often since we're just not value people. I have a family of bed hogs so those doubles just don't work for me!

I just ordered some heat transfer vinyl to try to make the I Run For Cupcakes shirt! When I finish it I will post it. I just have to find the perfect shirt to put it on!

Anyways, I am going to try to check in more because I need some motivation to keep on trucking on my training plan! Have a wonderful day cupcakes!

2016 Coast to Coast would be amazing!

My favorite princess is Belle. She likes to read, isn't afraid to speak her mind and is willing to make sacrifices for her loved ones. :) Aurora is another favorite just because she has a pink dress. :rotfl2:

Cupcake Friday
As if just being Friday is not sweet enough

Treasure Chest & Sorcerers Hat
DHS: Starring Rolls

This week we continue our visit to what some call the Cupcake Mecca of WDW. Although, I really beg to differ because we have looked at 3 resorts that I have a lot more to offer in terms of cupcake selections, but I will go with the "experts" and then after our crawl we can be the experts and set the record straight!

Let's take a look at 2 cupcakes, yes 2 this week...because I am not sure whether either one of them are just seasonal or special event cupcakes but they look fun and noteworthy (and honestly if they are available they certainly might be an option).

First,

the Treasure Chest. Now this little gem conquers up a couple of famous Disney pirates in my mind who quite frankly are a little more yummier than this cupcake. We recently had the debate and they ended in a tie (because some cupcakes don't watch OUAT...and it they did well Killian would win hands down).

SIGH....guess that means back to the cupcake. But it might be fun to pilfer and loot on the first date.

Back to the cupcake...This little gem (and I do mean little compared to most Disney cupcakes) is nestled inside of a souviner plastic treasure chest...some reports have a chocolate treasure chest?). The cupcake is a standard chocolate cupcake with a thick fudge icing on the top decorated with crunchy pearls of chocolate. Also in the treasure chest you will find white chocolate pirate head coin, key, and chocolate curls.

Second,

theSorcerer's Hat cupcake[. Now I am thinking that this cupcake is destined to be fade away into a distant memory with the removal of the Sorcerer's Hat in DHS much like I am sure that on Once Upon a Time we will see it disappear and Mr. Gold will once again be trying to figure out how to capture all the magic in the world for himself, thus another season we can rest assured of happening! Now back to the cupcake starting from the top.... Let’s take it from the top…the Sorcerer Mickey’s hat is made of milk chocolate, seriously thick and generous in size. Then there are the colorful and ample chocolate shavings sprinkled all over the icing to make this cupcake pop to the eye. If you look closely enough you will even find a few hidden Mickeys. All of these colorful decorations are embedded in the true star of this cupcake, the frosting! Now this frosting is a little different, first of all it is a lemon cream cheese frosting that is dense, creamy, and super citrus-y...almost like having a slice of cheesecake on top of your cupcake.

Moving underneath the frosting we find a simple, moist vanilla cake. There is a small bit of blueberry filling at the bottom – not in the center as with most cupcake fillings at Disney that is both a little sweet and tart, complimenting the cake well.

My Thoughts?

While the Treasure Chest is cute, at over $8 it suddenly loses the cute factor for me...and I would rather gaze at Killian then this cupcake. However, I am all over the Sorcerer's Hat Cupcake. It sounds like a refreshing departure from all the chocolate overload that we are going to be doing on Disney cupcakes throughout the week! I just hope I can find it!

Your Thoughts?

Hmmm, I don't know if I have a favorite. I like princesses that push the limit of being a princess usually or at least have something redeeming about them other than being pretty and being able to sing. ;)

I hear you...I like princesses but I really don't have a favorite!

I think if you look at the modern princess movies Disney has done a good job working on more than singing and being pretty!

We definitely need to do some serious talking about C2C in 2016! I am totally up for the idea. Main thing for me was getting my C2C in WDW & not DL, I know...I am weird. It would just mean more to me getting it in WDW. So...yes, lots to talk about after PHM.

Totally understand this...so that is why W&D has to be our last race...I have to run through 3 parks! I sure hope they keep Osborne lights till 2016....with all the changes coming to DHS.

BC for a night during W&D sounds like a dream!! And MVMCP!

Then lets put a budget together and make a night or 2 happen. I don't mind split stays! AND I AM NOT LETTING YOU BAIL OUT ON THIS TRIP!

MCMCP is a must for me!

Gotta love a reading princess!

:cloud9:

You can have the fruit...the only fruit flavored chocolate I like are chocolate covered strawberries...

Now you lost me with the raspberry. lol

Cold in Florida...Oh yes it does the Christmas we decide to go to WDW...

I have not done many short runs during the week but I have really been trying to get in 2 miles walking at lunch! I hope that will keep me free from injury when I attempt long runs on the weekends. I cant run with many layers...I get hot way too fast and then what to do with the layers? The start is pretty cold and I do have ear muffs and gloves on with long sleeves...but within 15 minutes I am pretty toasty!

So far three of my girlfriends who were running have backed out! Our group is dropping like flies! At least my roommate is still with me since I bought my plane ticket and park ticket (non-refundable military ticket) already!

Sadly we have lost 2 cupcakes...and remember we are here to hang out with! I am sending you a private message!

I think it depends on the trip whether I am a value person or not...for this trip I want a resort that I can come back to and relax at.

I just ordered some heat transfer vinyl to try to make the I Run For Cupcakes shirt! When I finish it I will post it. I just have to find the perfect shirt to put it on!

We have a cupcake shirt...again PMing you!

Anyways, I am going to try to check in more because I need some motivation to keep on trucking on my training plan! Have a wonderful day cupcakes!

Keeping us all motivated and accountable...HERE THAT BUFFY?

2016 Coast to Coast would be amazing!

My favorite princess is Belle. She likes to read, isn't afraid to speak her mind and is willing to make sacrifices for her loved ones. :) Aurora is another favorite just because she has a pink dress. :rotfl2:

Brandy...lets do Coast to Coast in 2016! That way we keep the Disney blues away by planning another trip!

The hat cupcake sounds unique and yummy...but I think you are right and it's doubtful it will be around in February since the hat will be gone.

the treasure chest...meh. It's just a chocolate cupcake with a fancy surrounding.

This gorgeous Sorcerer's Hat cupcake has my name written all over it! I love chocolate, but this one sounds divine! And looks it too! (Plus, we will need to break up the monotony (what?) of all the chocolate! Count me in!

As for the pirate's chest...it's pretty, but I'll stick to real pirates or more interesting cupcakes! ;)

Your whole response made me smile Tammie! I needed that. I have been feeling a little bah humbug lately, so thank you! Looking forward to hanging out with the cupcakes! :grouphug:

I bought all our tickets!! It's almost real!!

We purchased 5 day hoppers and I'll upgrade them to DVC APs after we arrive. We have a big (10 yr anny) trip planned for October to APs are the economical choice ;)
