PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

I hope everyone got signed up!!!

I'm still so sad to be missing out, but we are almost completely moved in to our new house, and have been living here since Saturday.

We are exactly three weeks away from Disney World right now. In fact, three weeks from this moment, I will be performing CPR on my kids as they recover from ToT while we get in the FP line for RnR.

The kids are going to be away next week so I hope to get some good runs in :)

Need pictures of that new house! So excited for you. We are going to miss you, but mark your calendar for Wine & Dine 2016! You do realize we expect you to stick around and train with us as you train for ToT! I love when the kids are gone, lots of me (and running time)...enjoy!

It took about an hour and 10 minutes for me to get registered at noon. Hope everyone else got in that wanted, Happy Training Everyone!
More training equals more booze or cupcakes for us all!:cool1:

I think I was in right at round 56 minutes and afterwards I felt like I had run a 1/2 marathon. Yep, now lets get training...need lots of cupcake, booze and running in order to get ready!

Wooo! Registered! So excited to be running with all you fine folks!! So I signed up for the PHM and the Race Retreat!! First time doing the PHM and first time doing a half marathon at all!!!

Any tips or advice on getting a good hotel (closest vs $?) or on getting park tickets etc? I feel like I'm a little lost amongst all this awesomeness!

Thanks everyone!! 218 days!:woohoo:

Patsy...glad you survived too and glad you have you along in this craziness...hope you will do more than just run with us!

As for hotels...I always set my budget first, then make a list of what I need...and then match resorts that fit my budget and my needs. I think your resort need to reflect what you want out of the trip and still within your budget. This trip its AKL...I need a good pool and hot tub...I see more resort than park time this trip! We were able to save money by renting DVC points. How many people are you traveling with? Last run trip I stayed at CBR, which I have no complaints about...The good news for PHM all resorts are Run Resorts so you have busing for all the events.

Not sure how awesome we are, but I can account to how crazy we all are! :rotfl2:

What a registration day! Was able to register for the PHM and 5k within an hour of registration opening so I'm thankful for that. So excited though to officially begin the countdown! :cheer2:

I am most happy about getting a trip with my evil stepsister...be aware of dark corners at AKL...

Poor Debra is going to have her hands full with the 2 of us and Cammy! I get the finish line this time that I wanted the first time around...not letting you out of this trip!

Cupcake Special Edition: Celebration of Registration
(We Did it...)

Frost Cupcake
Contemporary - Contempo Cafe

It was stressful leading up to registration but we did it, and there is only 1 way to celebrate (well 2 ways if you talk to our resident lushes) with a cupcake. And no ordinary cupcake will work! Today I bring you the Frost Cupcake, perfectly themed with the PHM this year!

Frost Cupcake

The Frost cupcake is a chocolate cake infused with caramel and topped with a mound of blue swirled butter cream icing decorated with candy snowflakes and a non edible souvenir featuring the characters from Frozen.

Review

“It was wonderful. Cake was moist and I loved the caramel inside. I love the reminder that the plastic ring is non-edible!"

Really they have to remind people that the ring is not to be eaten? Okay, now if we were on our quest to expose our lusciousness selves, this might be a good thing! LOL

My thoughts?

This might be a fun celebration cupcake after the Frozen Themed 5K, that is of course if it is still available (which since the PHM looks Frozen themed I am betting it will be). I can imagine we could have a lot of fun with the blue icing...grrr, I hate colored frosting especially when my boys are around.

Life's not the breaths you take but the moments that take your breath away

Today was full of moments that took my breath away…some not so great, but others totally amazing. Today was the day we have had circled on our calendars for months, the day of Princess Registration. The last few days the cupcakes have all been stressing (okay not so much our AP & DVC holders), practicing logging onto active, refreshing, trying to calm each other’s nerves with funny messages and counting down the seconds until 12:00 pm EST. Let’s recap the events as they unfolded…

This morning I awoke to Nicole’s message that she wanted to know where the stress cupcakes where…Today found me at work training a group of teachers for a new intervention program that they would being using on their respective campus. I arranged with them that lunch would be early…like at 10:45 am so that I could get on the computer and refresh to my hearts delight…or much to my hearts beating and pounding. Before training began I logged my computer in my office to RunDisney and Active so I would be set once I rushed my teachers out the door to lunch. All through the morning I would periodically get a text from a cupcake double checking our plans, seeing how we were holding up, and sending something to calm the nerves. It was so hard to focus on the content I was delivering…finally the time to push my teachers out the door and I raced to my office while at the same time loading my phone with Active and RunDisney…flipping on the lights, I sat down to my computer and found…

SERIOUSLY…the IT department has decided that this day and this moment they will update my operating system….ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME. Quickly I snapped a picture to share and went in search of another computer that was working at 10:58 I was set on a new computer, whew 2 minutes to spare and I started refreshing both my computer and phone…and yep, the computer freezes, but I have the phone working and get the message at 11:04 that I am now in line to enter the site, I did a happy dance right there as I waited…little did I know the drama was really going to begin. I wanted so bad to check in with the cupcakes and see how it was going…but I was on my phone and no way to check in. Promptly that 11:07 I got the green light and clicked PHM registration…it then took 5 refreshes to get off the darn agreement page but I made it…but none of my form was filled with my active registration so then I sat out plucking in my information on my phone…submit, error, fix, submit, error, error, error, error, fix, submit, error, error, error TEARS, error, error, fix, submit, error…well you get the picture…at that moment I felt so alone and wondering if I was going to be the only one not to get in and cussing like a sailor (which is not me)…about that time the computer unfroze and I went about trying to get the 5K done on it…so now I am working 2 submit, error situations…finally at 11:57 I was able to get into PHM with confirmation…but I was still in the endless cycle of error, fix, submit for the 5K…but a little less stressed because I got into PHM. Finally, around 12:15 I finished my registration and was able to start checking in with my cupcakes. And what I found took my breath away and made me proud to call these new people in my life friends…what I found was everyone was helping each other get registered…those that got in where now using their computers to get others registered…totally amazing how a group of ladies can come together without any drama to support each other. This time happy tears were in order, as well as breaking out the cupcakes and booze!

Carol found this shirt for us…I think there needs to be some cuss words on it!

And Andreah and her computer talents made each of us this for surviving the registration process.

Here is my celebration…

A picked up a cupcake at my local cupcake shop…their signature cupcake, Ruffle Truffle…a chocolate cupcake with a dark chocolate truffle center, topped with a buttercream icing that has a hint of peppermint. Tonight, I am going to see what booze I can round up…LOL.

Thanks Cupcake Ladies for taking my breath away today! You are an amazing group of ladies who have now moved into the friend category with full membership! I don’t give my friendship away too easily…I can’t wait to peruse those cupcakes with you in February!

:lovestruc

I've had that cupcake twice! So good!

Karen... I was like "hello my cupcake friend" chocolate and caramel is a Yes!!!
Happy Happy Registration Day, Cupcakes!!! Glad you are going Buffy!!

Congrats to everyone that was able to register for what they wanted!

I ended up deciding against doing PHM as between the Star Wars Registration Fees last month, my July Disney Trip (Dining Report in Signature) and the Cruise in about 6 weeks, I just couldn't swing it. I'll still be here following along & supporting though! We are going to do Wine & Dine instead in 2015!

My 8 year old kept asking me what was wrong. :) Then when I finally got in we had a dance party to the song "Happy" with the baby too. :goodvibes

I don't like colored frosting for the kids either. lol. But, this sounds yummy!!

Hello Cupcakes!

Wow, that was a stressful day! We are on vacation at my in-laws and my husband came back in the room and said, "What's wrong." Yep, the look on my face must have said it all! But in the end I was able (after a million refreshes) to register both myself and my friend for the 5K and 10K! Mission accomplished! :cool1:

Oh man, I wish I had one of those Frozen cupcakes to celebrate! I think one after the 5K will most definitely be in order!

Congrats to everyone who is registered! I am already thinking about costumes!

Wednesday Wonderings

What is your Favorite Foods, New Things you want to try, things you will never try again in World Showcase?

We have picked our favorite countries and favorite drinks as we make our Tour Around the World (showcase)...One of my favorite things to do is to try a little something in each country! So tell me what are your favorites, things you will never try again, or new things you have read about recently that you want to try?

Something I have to get every trip is some Fish & Chips and of course I have to use Malt Vinegar on them!

Most of the time when I get to France one of 2 things happen...A. I am not hungry because I have eaten too much already or B. It is too packed...but, I want to this trip visit Les Halles Boulangerie & Pâtisserie and see the remodel. I also want to slip into

and get this...

I have also recently read about the Croissant Doughnut at refreshment port, I think it is calling my name too!

:grouphug: So excited to be embarking on this awesome (cupcake and alcohol filled) journey with y'all!

Look- Tammie's Texan accent is wearing off on this Midwestern gal!

Would it shock you that I am not really a Texas girl...but a Mountain State/West Girl? But if you ask my family back in Colorado I do sound like a Texan...what????

Congrats to everyone that was able to register for what they wanted!

YAY, you got in. I think we all ran an emotional MARATHON yesterday. Totally crazy!

Mmm, that croissant doughnut looks good!

Eh, I loved F&W because there were many options but I only have a few things I normally get in WS. There aren't a lot of options for vegetarians...except sweets...which is fine with me! ;)

I LOVE the vegetarian platter at Tangierene Cafe, I have to have it every trip, without fail.
ReyKarenAKL1330.jpg

I usually try to get something in France (when I'm there getting my Grey Goose) :lmao:

and you can never go wrong with funnel cake...even if it is CRAZYexpensive for just one!

So glad to see everyone seems to have gotten what they wanted :)

Let the official countdown begin!!

BUFFY...your going. I am so happy!

I don't think DH is to happy with me at the moment, but I don't care!!
I think this will be my last destination race for a while. Now it better freakin be a Frozen theme!!! :rotfl2:

Frost Cupcake

UM, YUM!!!!!!!! I want one! I too hate blue frosting, with a passion!! Got a blue cake for DS18's 10th birthday. Let's just say that the next day he came out of the bathroom in a panic. It's funny now, not so funny then.

I love the Pesto at Tutto Italia, caramel apples at the Germany pavilion, certainly Fish and Chips and love the Japanese Restaurants.

Off to family vacation - landing in Denver in about 20 minutes, Tammie!

Congrats to all you ladies who got registered! Especially excited to see the two original OCDs running together!! ;)
