PHM 2015-In Pursuit of Cupcakes While Running in Glass Slippers

I'm back for a little while, anyways! We had a really nice 4th of July at our cabin with some friends and family. Then Ab, dh and I took a 26 hour car trip for a 3 hour college visit...

Usually I don't like mail, but I came home to 2 GREAT pieces of mail...

Welcome to my newest SparkleSkirt...BlackSilk! She is joining her 3 sisters in my closet (no where near the vast collection in Betsy's closet)...but I am sure she is going to be envied by her 3 sisters when she gets to run in Rome and snorkel in Capri in a few weeks. I really needed a workhorse skirt that could match basically anything, plus the added bonus of using her for a swim bottom that I feel comfortable in for our trip to Europe! I even took her out for a run today...

And who does not like Mickey Mail...

Looks like Debra, Cammy, Amy and I are officially booked at AKL for PHM! I could not be more excited about this and I  not stressing about a room. My last trip it was over 10 months of STRESS about booking a room! I like setting a budget, making my wants/needs list for a room and then finding a room that fits it all! Now we can focus on what really matters...food, fun and of course cupcakes!

Well Cupcakes, I have bad news and I have good news. Which one do you want to hear first? The bad news? Ok :(

I'm out for the Princess Half. No birthday trip for me. I'm very, very sad.

BUT...I have a good reason (here's the "good news" part):

We can't book another vacation right now b/c we're buying a house!! :yay:

We're moving in on August 1st!! We leave for vacation August 4th, and fly to Disney on August 5th.

Yes, I'm crazy.

We get the keys this weekend. We're buying the house from my husband's boss, and it is sitting empty, so she's not making us wait for anything. Everything happened so fast! Like, in the last 9 days.

I've decided to shoot for the ToT ten mile race in 2015, or the wine and dine...so we can finally do the Food and Wine festival. Even though I'm so excited about the house and the move, I'm pretty torn up about not being able to run the race and be in Disney World on my birthday. But I have to be positive!

One positive is the new house is in a neighborhood that links up with one of my favorite running trails, so no more driving to get somewhere to run!

So you can kick me out of the club if you want, but I'd like to stick around and offer support and encouragement, and to comment on all the yummy cupcake pictures.

Now I guess I've got to get packing! I still can't believe we're cutting it so close to vacation :crazy2:

We will certainly miss you at PHM, but how exciting for you! A new house! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE KICKED OUT...cupcakes are cupcakes no matter what race they run! Remember we have Susan the honoree cupcake and Buffy too! We want you to stick around and keep you supported and encouraged for your races!

that is great news! The race will be there when you can go and I have a feeling there will be other races with cupcake crawls if the group members are game.

I like how you think Amy...in fact Debra, Amy H and I are talking F&W 2016!

Registration is right around the corner and my thoughts turn to 2 questions:

1). GSC or no GSC?

2) Princess selection for bib? And a costume to coordinate with said bib?

1. I am going for it...GSC, plus the 5K! Although I plan on walking most of the 5K...

2. Have they announced Bib choices yet? I think Debra, Amy and I are doing the Fairies from Sleeping Beauty...

Hi cupcakes! I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent sympathy for the passing of my grandfather. It seems with the traveling for the funeral and trying to get back to life as usual that the past couple of weeks were gone in a blink! And now it's July!

Hope you are doing better...continued prayers for peace and comfort!

I ran in my first Sparkle Tech skirt today! Yay! I'm still a bit self-conscious about the exposed skin (used to running in capris), but other than that it was great!

AP registration opens in one week! Woo hoo!

Rock the skin! What skirt did you get? We need pictures! I was running in capris too...but oh those pockets...one run and I was hooked.

Wish I had AP...so nervous for registration!

I hope it's ok to post here, I have never crawled for cupcakes. . I am wondering if anyone can give me a link to see the bib colors? I haven't found a link that works yet. Also, after reading these posts, I am nervous that I won't get registered!!

Welcome!!!! There is always a first time to crawl for cupcakes...I am looking for a bib link, too! LADIES?????

Hope everyone celebrated a great 4th of July!

I dragged my mom along for a 3 miler on our local bike path. We did ok. Focused more on talking than running and came in at about 40mins. Good time for mom, not so great for me. But we have a 5k at the end of August and I stick with her for those!

Getting excited for this week. I'll be registering for the 10k early!

Heck I am totally focused on running and I am at 40 minutes...:dance3:

I did it! I ran this week. I woke up early and didn't really feel like falling back asleep so I hit the dreadmill before everyone got up. Restarted C25K and got 2 miles done in 30 minutes, not far off my average time even with taking a 9 week hiatus. I won't lie, I am sore, but it was nice getting back in the swing of things. My only regret was not going to the green to run. It was gorgeous out but if didn't want to take off while the whole house was asleep.

Great Job Buffy!

DEBRA...

Your Ranger was so inspiring! Way to go! I love the orange skirt! Ranger sounds like a fun race, not sure though if I could do it! I am glad you made a bunch of new friends to share in this adventure, too bad about Van #2...apparently they forgot to be cupcakes and enjoy a little along the way!

Been thinking about ADRs lately since I will be gone for the 3 weeks and when I get back I will be in full school mode since August is a busy month for staff development for me...I don't want to stress but I want to get our meet up/carb loading ADR head count!

Cupcake Meet Up & Carb Loading

Via Napoli in Epcot
Saturday, February 21 at 4 pm

What could be better than carb loading for our big race together and be served by cute Italian boys! If you want to join in, just PM me or post your intentions here on PTR (by August 20) and we will add you to the list and Debra will make a ADR reservation for our group on August 22nd!

Can I come to the carb load at Napoli? Do I need a park pass to eat there since it's in Epcot? I was thinking of the pasta dinner anyway but the photos look good..and like it was said..served by cute Italian boys. :).

Wednesday Wonderings

I know I stifled your love for sharing a few weeks ago when I only allowed you to tell about your favorite country in the World Showcase and not allowed you to talk about the really fun part of WS...the drinking...so today...Anything about drinks in Epcot is fair game for this Wednesday working but NO TALKING ABOUT FOOD!!!!

What is your favorite drink (or for Karen and Nicole favorite DRINKS) in Epcot? Or what is one new one that you really want to try? Or what is one that your tried that you did not like?

My favorite drink is either the ice cream martini In France or the Happy Lychee in China

Of course you can!!!! We would love to have you! Silly question, did you post a Cupcake Bio and I missed it. I have not been very prompt in updating our Cast of Characters or Run Reports...I promise to TRY to do better!

Dang you are fast...hmmmm ice cream martini that is a new one for me. I am going to have to research that one!

Although my name is usually associated with being the resident lush here (after Karen, of course).. the truth is I must sheepishly admit I've only ever had a frozen Margarita from Mexico in Epcot and nothing else.

I solemnly swear I am up to no good (oh wait, this isn't Universal Potterland)... and have plans to expand to MANY at PHM.

Top of my list to try are Grey Goose Slushie. And a margarita from La Cava (although I have heard they are not pre-mixed and nowhere near as good..but still quite a bit more in price!).

The ice-cream thing has me interested as well............ hmmm.........

I LOVE the grapefruit beer in Germany! Nice and refreshing!

Grey Goose Slush is very very good!

On a running note: I went out for a quick one mile run yesterday and to my surprise I ran the whole thing! I have NEVER done that in my life. I am a Galloway girl and even my Magic Miles have included really short walking breaks. I was just in such a good run I couldn't stop! I wish I could have more days like that!

However-my mile time? Yeah, it was EXACTLY the same as if I would've taken my walk breaks! Ha! I guess Galloway knows his stuff!

Tammy - you'll love your black silk. That is my first and only (for now) one. I have a navy slim cut on the way, as my 2nd one. For long run days, I love them to carry my car keys (I have to travel to find a less boring running spot), phone, snacks. And the added bonus of no chafing! I had no idea they could double as swim skirts! Genius!

And you gotta love Disney Mail! We have changed our hotels/nights/packages so many times for the TOT trip that I have like 90 of those Disney Mail packages. Well, maybe not 90, but at least 5.

Hands down, Grey Goose Slushie at France! But close 2nd would be the Spiced Rum Dole Whip (is that a drink?) at the Flower and Garden Festival. Think they'll reprise it for F&W this year?

[What is your favorite drink (or for Karen and Nicole favorite DRINKS) in Epcot? Or what is one new one that you really want to try? Or what is one that your tried that you did not like?

Shakin' Jamaican from the kiosk at the America Pavilion. Sooooo good!!! But sneaks up on you.

Nothing new I want to try, I'm not a big drinker.

Didn't like was the lemoncello from Italy. I love lemon stuff, I didn't like that.

Clearly, I am missing out on some delicious cocktails. I guess wrangling small kids makes this less doable. On my only trip without them I enjoyed a couple but now I have some guidance for next time. Still on the fence for GSC. If I wait until Tuesday to register, will I get a spot? I think I could get my mom who has active AP to do it today.

Did someone say DRINKS?!?!?!? :bitelip:

Ok, in photos...

Ah...Grey Goose Slushie, let me count the ways I love thee...

In France, for those of you that don't know.
Even though the Citron Grey Goose slushie is my favorite, the orange Grand Marinere (sp...whatev!) is really good too!

Strongbow from the UK...I am NOT a beer drinker folks, but this stuff was good. It's ciderish...but not ubersweet. Very good!

WDWPrincesshalf00332.jpg

and you can NOT go through Mexico without going to La Cava. The frozen margaritas outside are refreshing...
WDWPrincesshalf00273.jpg

But The CAVE has the best margaritas. Blood Orange, Passion Fruit, and Pineapple are my favs.
WDWPrincesshalf00271.jpg

AND...just for you Cupcakes...a drunken shot of me with two margaritas in 2009 (DH gave me his b/c he didn't like it) where I had spilled all over myself already! :p I actually don't think I was drunk here, seeing as these were my first two drinks...but I look like I am, so work with me. ;)

Tweedle, you are gonna have to step it up if you want to continue to be known as a lush around here! :lmao:

and I know I have a fanny pack on, don't judge, I was a WDW noob.

Debra, I loved reading about your Ragnar!!! Thanks for sharing, it looks like so much fun, I hope to do one someday.
