Leaving Xmas morning at7am. Does any one have experience w/ using long-term parking at the airport???? According to one of the managers at the airport. xmas is a down time because business are closed and I should be able to find parking. I don't want to use outside parking. Did that last year and they damaged my car.

Any suggestions.

Chris

Hello from Cherry Hill!

Chris, the problem with LTP in philly is that the bus picks you up in designated areas. So you have to lug your bags and the kids to the bus stop, to get the shuttle to the terminal. If I were travelling alone on a business trip it might be ok, but if I have my kids and a lot of luggage I would not do it.

For winter trips we take a car service to the airport. It was a good move last year because we flew home from a cruise at the end of January right after that big snowfall. We had someone pick us up and did not have to worry about digging out our car at the airport.

If you want names of limo companies in our area, send me a PM. Good luck!

yes it may cost more to get picked up but it is better in case it snows. but if you drive my husband drops us and the bags at check in and he parks the car and meets us the same on the way home

AMPCO has covered parking and a shuttle to your designated gate. The drivers I have had were all helpful(tip included).

My friend recommended AMECO and I went on their web-site and it wont take reservations....my guess is that they are filled.

Thanks any way

WE travel over Christmas all the time out of New York. Don't drive to the airport without a confirmed resveration for your car. By Christmas day most if not all the long term lots will be full. We use an offsite parking lot all the time and have never had a problem, The company is Avistar. The web site is avistarparking.com. They have a lot in PHL. Don't wait to long they fill up quickley.

We have used Winner airport parking on Essington Ave. The last two trips with excellent experences. They will valet you to and pick you up in your own car when you return. It wass great not to worry about boarding a shuttle after just getting home.

Good luck ::MickeyMo

Rather than drive our car from NE PA and leave it in a lot at PHL for the week we usually rent a car locally from Budget for one way and drop it at PHL and do the same in reverse from PHL to home. It actually works out a little better cost wise since it runs us about $80 and for the more secure parking at PHL it's about $100. We just jump off 95 the exit right before the airport (I think it might be Essington, not sure) to refill on gas before we drop the car off and DH drops me and one of our DS's in front of the terminal with the bags. We do curbside checkin while he and the other DS take the car to the
Budget return and shuttle it back to meet us. Takes all of about 30 minutes total and we don't have to worry about our car sitting in long term parking all week.

We used the long term parking once and it was fine. Got lost on our way to Pacifeco Ford and were too late to turn around. We are going to use pacifeco again this time. It's open 24 hours a day. They use your car to take you over and pick you up. It has always worked great for us. My sister just used it Halloween weekend with no problems!!!

Have a great trip

My 2 neighbors use Pacifico Ford Valet especially in the winter months. You can research to see if this is for you by visiting www.pacifiocars.com/valet/. I think she said they have a coupon or you can use AAA. Have fun!

We use winner valet also. They are great. they look over the car with you and write down all the dings you have on it so this way there can be no descrepancy. I just love the fact that their is no shuffling around of luggage they drop you right off at the gate. We use them at Christmas with no reservation we just used them last week and they are great. It ended up being around the same price as long term parking. Thye offer AAA discount.

Word of caution:

Stay away from SUNPARK! Damaged my car and other problems!!!, that I don't want to talk about on this site.

You could also try the stay at the airport hotels the night before which will drop you off at the airport and allow you to park in there own lots??
