PHL Luggage

Has anyone gone through Philly for their return trip lately? I've traveled for business but always did carry on. We'll be checking luggage in November and I was wondering if baggage claim for US Airways is any better.

Better than last Thanksgiving and Christmas, but still totally unacceptable!

I have traveled through PHL quite a few times with luggage and had no problems.

Luggage can be slow but more importantly find out what carousel and terminal your luggage will be at!! Last time we landed at one terminal (D, I think) but our luggage was at another terminal's carousel. walk, walk, walk!!!

I don't know if it's a US Air issue specifically; last time we were at PHL it was with Delta and United, and both were long waits in very dreary surroundings.

We just came back in August and there was no problems with luggage at all. By the time we landed and walked to the baggage claim the luggage started to come out. It was 100 times better than 2005, so maybe things are getting better.

You were much luckier than us. Hour and a half for luggage to arrive in Aug. It is all of PHL . . . and USAir most inefficient. They are constantly advertising for baggage handlers.

Traveled through PHL on USAirways this past August with no problems...and we don't travel lightly, either! Maybe we've been lucky, but we haven't had any problems on US Airways via PHL over the past year. On the other hand, don't get me started on IAD, or CLT!

PHL is notorious for the carousel change. Just when you think you've staked out a great spot at the carousel, you wait, and you wait, and you wait. 45 minutes later, the buzzer goes off at another carousel. But no one's waiting there. Then luggage starts coming out. Sure enough, it's the luggage from your flight. But hey, it may be slow, but it gets there.
