Phineas and Ferb are the debbil, or not?

That's a little weird, but to each their own I guess.

I just worry about kids that grow up in a house like that (depending on their age.) Aaron has some cousins that are teenagers and are incredibly sheltered. They are not allowed to watch PG 13 movies, go on dates, etc. Their older sister is doing well in college, but one of the girls is showing definite signs of rebellion and all the cousins are very worried about her.

The family keeps a non-domestic, protected animal as a pet.

This has got to be the reason; the promotion of a platypus as a pet. A male platypus, I might add. Male platypi have poisonous stingers. Not cool. We must protect our children!

Also, for those considering, naked mole rats also do not make good pets.

Yeah...I can't think think of a single reason that would make sense to me. DH and I watch P&F all the time...and we don't even have kids, lol.

At least it has some intellignence to it, unlike almost all children's programming these days. DH and I used to sit and try to figure out why it seemed like the quality of cartoons was so low now. We couldn't figure out if we were remembering the cartoons we watched as kids as being better than they were, or if current cartoons truly have fallen that far. P&F is refreshing, and after watching two or three episodes we said if we ever had kids, we'd have to buy this show on DVD so they could watch it instead of all the other mindless, crude crap.

On a side note, maybe the parent that banned it is worried Ferb's oddly mishapen eyes will freak their kid out? Seriously..what's up with that? All the other characters have normal eyes that are both the same size. lol.

We love Phineas and Ferb!! What I have stopped is the Suite Life on Deck..I can't stand how they are constantly talking about hot girls and the way they treat adullts. I just find that show obnoxious. Thankfully my kids aren't huge tv watchers anyway. Can't think of any reason Phineas and Ferb would offend anyone though:confused3

Actually, I don't care for any of the Disney Channel shows. Adults are treated as buffoons and the mean kids seem to be glorified. However, eventhough I don't like them, I still don't ban them. We talk about those things and try to use them as teaching moments.

P&F, however, we all love. They aren't hurting anyone or treating anyone badly. My ringtone is the Doofenschmirtz Evil Inc jingle. I ran into our former pastor at a diner once and we got to talking. Wouldn't you know it? My phone rang. He laughed. Come to find out their entire family loves the show, too. His wife told me she challenged the family to go 1 day w/o quoting it and nobody could do it. LOL!!!

I'm okay with Phineas and Ferb, They show my kids can't watch is SpongeBob Square Pants.
Several years ago I had to ban SpongeBob too (and I love that show. My son was becoming a little smart aleck, and I figured out he was acting like characters in that show. We banned it, he quit acting that way, and then eventually I let him watch again with the warning that if he started acting like a little jerk again, it would be gone for good.

I watch it with my Grandgirls, its not Scooby, but its OK!;)

We enjoy them! We even have a sing a long CD. S to the I to the M to the P. Squirrel! Squirrel!:lmao:

It seems this is just a rehash from decades ago from the folks up in arms over Bugs Bunny and company.

We have stopped watching most live action on Disney channel. The "maturity" rate of the kids has outpaced my children and touches into themes that my kids just aren't into yet. It used to be fun--but the story lines grew up. My kids actually removed themselves from it as they didn't like the shows anymore.

Love Phineas and Ferb!

We bought the Christmas DVD...can't listen to "we wish you a Merry Christmas" without laughing at Doofinshmirtz "ooh is that a threat?" hahaha

That is the BEST part! DS3 goes around singing "I really don't hate Christmas" from that video all the time too. He calls them "Lady and Vern" (we have no clue why!).

DD17 had a Perry birthday. She made a Perry cake all by herself and got the transforming Agent P plush as a gift.

I'm okay with Phineas and Ferb, They show my kids can't watch is SpongeBob Square Pants.

My DSSs aren't allowed to watch SpongeBob either. I'm not sure why and they don't either. :confused3 I guess I have never really paid much attention to that show but what is so offensive about it?

To each their own, and I do understand her POV.

That said, I absolutely LOVE Phineas and Ferb! :lovestruc I also have some episodes on my Tivo.

Favorite episode? I think it's "Got Game (F Games!!) / Comet Kermillian (S to the I to the M to the P!!) Ahhh, to be that creative and come up with these episodes. Can't imagine how hilarious their writer's meetings must be, LOL.

Also not a fan of Spongebob.

I adore P&F. Squirrels in my Pants is one of the best EVER!

We are huge fans of this show, watch several times a week and have a CD of songs to play in the car.

However, I can understand why some with young children may ban it. I don't let my girls watch Spongebob, because they said something I didn't want them repeating. I think it may've been "crap", but I can't remember.

From P&F, the line my oldest daughter latched onto was one time Major Monogram said "I hate myself". She would say it, thinking it was funny and would get a laugh out of us. We just ignored it and didn't laugh, and that stopped it pretty quickly. But if that was a common occurance from the show, picking up lines like that, I'd probably phase it out until they were old enough to understand the jokes. Hopefully that won't happen, I don't think there are many lines like that, but we don't always pick them up until our 4 year old starts saying them. I think all the lessons in the show are very good ones. :thumbsup2

i am pretty picky about what my kids watch. but we all watch P&F. DH and i love it too.

one show i had to ban was Lilo & Stitch. Nani and Lilo were always yelling at each other. and my DD started to pick up on that. so, i said no more. i don't even know if it's on anymore.

we don't watch a lot of the stuff on Cartoon Network because i just don't think its appropriate. but every parent has to make decisions for his/her children. who am i to judge?

i have no objection to phineas and ferb, although DD13 doesn't watch cartoons much anymore. the only things we ever forbid her to watch were "rugrats", because angelica talked so mean and hateful-"shut up, you stupid babies!"; and "spongebob squarepants", because...well...it's just very poorly drawn and spongebob is annoying.

I'll agree with another poster and say I was unsure of P&F at first because I was afraid of another cat/dog type thing. I dislike those types of shows immensly. However, after watching it occasionally I have to say it is really cute. We DVR it.

Of course, we watch Spongebob too so what do I know? :rotfl: I *did* try to keep Rugrats from becoming a big deal but it wasn't as much to do with attitude as the fact that they all looked weird. Like scary weird, and just kind of downright filthy. Grandpa freaked me out LOL

We started watching it when we had our DD & GDD living with us. Recently DH has started DVRing the episodes. In fact we just finished watching about 4 episodes of it.

We both like it and think it is cute and funny. Sometimes I end up with the theme song running through my head. "Mom, Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!"

Have to tell you GDD is 8 months old and knows when P & F is on. We decided right away that we are not going to get into the Cartoon Network shows because they can be a bit "off". I do like the Playhouse Disney time and GDD loves those shows too.

Personally I love P&F! I think it's a great show. lol The girls think it's hilarious and I honestly adore Agent P! In fact the girls got me an Agent P tee shirt for Christmas this year. :) :) I love it! I don't think Candace is too whiny or a tattle tail and I love that the guys use their imagination so much. I really don't see anything wrong with P&F :)

My kids are older, so I don't watch P & F. I'll weigh in on Sponge Bob. We liked it and watched with our kids many times when they were in grade school. However, we made them turn it off every time the "I'm going to kick your butt" episode came on.

"Mom, Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!"

My three year old will call this out at random times. Really funny, espcially when she does it in public and I look around to see who caught it.
