Got to Animal Kingdom today and were the first ones at our gate! They opened at 7:45. We did the Safari first (Whew! What a hike! ), no wait, we were on the second safari car. Saw all the animals, the lioness did a perfect pose for us! Standing stretched out on her rock like she KNEW she was the Queen! Dinosaur ride was really fun and intense. Sit on the right hand side if you can. One of them breathes right into your face! It's Tough to Be a Bug - great! Kali River Rapids - glad I took my shoes and socks off and put them in the bin! It was nice, but too short.
Had PS for lunch at Rainforest Cafe at 11:30. Daughter had Chicken Club sandwich, I had Chicken BBQ pizza(let me warn you about the size, I should have split it! Also, very spicy), son had Paradise pizza, and husband had the meat loaf. When waitress asked how everything was I was honest and said my husband didn't really like the meatloaf, but that was ok, he helped me with my pizza. When she came back with the check, she said the manager took off 20% because of the meat loaf! We were shocked and thanked her! So with our drinks and the 20% off it came to $46.58.
My daughter and I ended up going into the gift shop while waiting for our food and bought shirts cuz we were so cold from the rapid ride!
After lunch we did the trails which were nice and then we went to Tarzan Rocks. This was nice, but not as good as expected. Thought we'd see more of the Tarzan character. It was very hot in there.
Went to Rafikis Planet Watch-didn't spend enough time here. Had to get to Lion King Show. This was also very nice. Beautiful costumes. A little cooler in here.
We headed back to hotel and were so exhausted, especially from the heat. The kids decided to stay in for the evening. Husband and I went back to Magic Kingdom for Spectromagic and fireworks. We went early enough to go through some shops. Had hotdogs, fries and sodas at Casey's for $12.25. Then found a perfect spot for the parade and fireworks. Just across from Casey's, right on the corner, was the place. You could get a perfect view of TinkerBell as she slid down her wire! The parade was wonderful and the fireworks were nice, but not as good as Illuminaions, in my opinion.
Next up...our final day, departure
Sorry, that's Illuminations...I'm getting tired now!
