Dave - You & me in Philly, dude!! Let's go for a PR! ok? :rolleyes1 Seriously!

OK, after these posts I'm real psyched to run Philly  . No really, I am!
You got it Jodi! A PR for me would be 4:27. I'd take that at this point.

Hi Bots;

Dave - I'm not sure what my PR is for a marathon...in the 4:26-25 range, I think. I'd love to do a 4:15 or something :rolleyes1 popcorn:: . Think that's possible?:scared1: I'm sorta scared to commit to anything but finishing @ this point :rotfl: .

How are all you MCMers out there feelin' today?

Real quick (I'll post more later tonight or tomorrow).

Howard and Mike (Congrats again!)

Did either of you notice Matt and I cheering for you? We were about 10 feet before the 26 mile marker on the left.

Howard - I actually don't think you noticed us (although we were screaming your name at the top of our lungs). You looked so focused and deteremined.

Mike - Matt and I really thought that you saw us but were maybe in a zone and didn't want to be distracted. You passed about 2 feet in front of us and looked really unhappy (maybe that's just your marathon face :confused3 ) We cheered loudly for you!

Jodi- The way my training's been going this fall, I would just be happy to finish the marathon too. I don't know if 4:15 is possible for me or not. I haven't even run for a couple of weeks. :lmao:

Cindy~ Hi! It was great to see you and Matt pre-race. I am afraid that I did not see you close to mile 26. I am sure by that time I was either running very slow or in one of the walking breaks I had to take from time to time during those last 6 miles. I appreciate your being out there for us! It was an awesome race...tough, but awesome. The fan support towards the end and at the beginning and at various points on the course was the best I've experienced.

I'm looking forward to reading about your 10K.

Howard

Jodi - You definitely have a 4:15 in you.

Dave - You've been keeping your fitness up. I think you'll have to wait and see what the day brings.

Cindy - I'm extremely sorry to say that I didn't see you and Matt. You should've grabbed me! I also didn't see Kathy or Cam on the fence going up the hill. Hell, I guess there could have been naked dancing girls riding dinosaurs at that point and I wouldn't have seen them.

I'm also sorry to hear that I didn't look very happy. I wasn't feeling too bad at that point but I guess I wasn't ready to dance a jig or anything. I may have been doing some running math to figure out how much more I could walk at that point.

Well, I've definitely got that "I ran a marathon yesterday" feeling today. The legs are a bit sore and I'm doing that funny post-marathon stairs walk. I'll try for an easy couple of miles tomorrow.

Congrats again to everyone!!!

Cindy - Waiting for a race report, times, etc.

Mike - What, you with an unhappy look on your face?? Peeshaw!;) . Unhappy dispositions is MY department! 4:15? You think? OK, if you say so.:confused3 . Glad you're sore (hate to think you're super-human 'n stuff).

Dave - You'll be fine! I'll grab you by the arm & drag you! (it'll probably be vice versa!). Will you talk @ me for the entire time?

Cindy - Waiting for a race report, times, etc.

Ok, super quick race report:

Me - 53:10 (8:33 pace)
Matt - 45:17 (7:17 pace)
Both - very happy

Cheering during marathon = fun

My hand hurts from ringing the cowbell (Saturn was giving them away free).

Wish we could have stuck around longer but I kept getting all these work emails and was getting really stressed out.

WOW!

Congratulations Howard on your great PR! You deserved a great result with all that training.

Mike, So happy you were able to get in the 20 miles you wanted and not over-exert yourself for Philly. Philly is nice and flat so you should have a VERY nice result there after this training run.

Cindy, awesome 10K, you were flying girl! Can't wait to meet in a few weeks!

OK, after these posts I'm real psyched to run Philly  . No really, I am!

Me too!:cool1:

Kids have a day off school today so I hope to get in a few miles if I can ship them off to friend's houses this afternoon. Ten miles planned for tomorrow.

Congrats to the MCMers again!

I'll be honest, I am not the least bit focused on running today. It's hard to focus on much more than Game 5. I went into Philly to do some work today and drove by the stadium on the way out. I went into the stadium store to by a program and some memorabilia. The store was nuts but it was actually very quiet in the city today (the calm before the storm). Nicole, the kids, and I are headed back into the city tonight to watch the game at my sister's house near South Street (Center City Philly). We both figured that we lived in the city for 9 years and we want to experience the insanity first hand (assuming we win). Hopefully the people celebrate in a positive way if we win. There is already enough bad press about Philadelphia. I'll check back tomorrow.

Lou

Hey Lou- I hope you have a good time tonight, and there's something to celebrate. Have Fun!

Hey Jodi- The more I think about it, I think your PR is about 4 min faster than mine. Ask me how I know that, go 'head, ask me...

Just back from Dallas:yay:

Congrats to all of the SUPER MCM PR's:cheer2:  You guys definitely are great for the inspiration needed leading up to Philly in a few short weeks:thumbsup2

I'll be back in the a.m. to post more and catch up but I had to drop in to let you know you DEFINITELY did the WISH team proud:grouphug:

Hey folks! I am posting to say that my muscles are still sore, but nothing like yesterday. I think I'll be pretty much back to normal (whatever that is) tomorrow. I'll probably start running again on Thursday, weather permitting. My blisters, what are left of them, are in the process of healing and are not painful at all.

I posted this in the MCM thread, but I wanted to post it here too. This are my corrected splits from the MCM timing mats.

I just missed beating my Half Marathon (Phila. Distance Run) time which was 1:50:08. There was a lot of traffic in the first mile or two that slowed me down a bit. In hind-sight, maybe that was a good thing. :confused3

Lou~ I hope the Phillies can wrap it up tonight. It is going to be bone-chilling cold out on the field and windy. Go Phillies!

Have a great day!

:grouphug:

Howard

Howard – I have to say it again – Congratulations on an amazing PR! I’m so happy for you – I hope you are really proud of yourself and what you’ve accomplished!

Cindy - I'm extremely sorry to say that I didn't see you and Matt. You should've grabbed me!

Mike – No need to apologize – you had just run 26 miles! I’m just really happy to read that you had a good race because Matt and I were afraid that you might have been hurting or something – guess you were just concentrating. And, I don’t really think that grabbing someone at mile 26 of the marathon is likely the best idea. Seeing as you didn't notice someone screaming your name 2 feet away from you, I think you may have been more than a little startled if we actually grabbed you:lmao:

I am actually excited about getting in the miles!!!! :confused3 I know what a switch!!!! popcorn::

Yay!

:cool1:

I'm excited that everyone is getting excited.:cool1:

Sara – So, how was Dallas?popcorn::

Colleen – How is you DD doing? All better?

Lou – I’m rooting for the Phillies for you! Congrats on getting the 20 miler over and done!

Jodi – I saw the VIP port-o-potty from the outside – it didn’t look all that special.

Steve – I hope you are staying warm up in Maine

Dave – How is your hip feeling?

Chester – Race Report?

As for me, other than my short RR, I don’t think I’ve posted anything about running since the middle of last week. I ran 4 slow recovery miles on Friday, and then I did 16 on Saturday – that was supposed to be a 17, but since I cut my 17 down to 16 before the ATM and had a good race, I figured I would do the same thing again – guess it worked! Rest yesterday and today ran 5 recovery miles this morning (in the cold, wet, nasty rain). I’ve got 10 (with some killer speed work), rest, 10, 4, and 20 for the rest of the week. And then - taper:cool1:

Hello all! Great racing at MCM, I'm jealous of the great times ;)

I had a wonderful time in Disney :yay: We had tons on fun at NSSHP (my tech support aka DH will help me get some pics posted later)

The ToT race was fun. I'm a much slower runner than most on this thread-- my goal was to maintain 12min miles through the race. I came close, but a week of carrying DD5 through the parks took it's toll on my legs and I fell a few min. short of my goal finishing in 1:41. It was fast enough to hit the post race party and do Toy Story Mania with nearly no line three times in a row :lmao: I took yesterday off from running to recover from vacation, now I need to get back to training...

Jen - Congrats on a great race! Riding TSM with no line is almost enough reason to in and of itself to do the race!

Hey!

Jen - Welcome back & congrats on your race!! Sounds like you had a blast!

CindyBoo - Loved your race report!;) Nice TIME!! Tell Matt I said congrats, too. BTW, don't believe for a minute that Mike didn't see you...he was just ignoring you!:rolleyes1 :sad2: . You actually went out in that weather this a.m.?? Man, you are dedicated!:worship: I think I'll be happier than YOU when you begin tapering, I'm exhausted just reading about all that running!

Sara - Welcome home! . Glad your team won for you!! Can you believe all this stellar running that's going on in this group? Thank goodness Philly is right around the corner & I can bring everyone back down  !

Colleen - HI! Are you out walking right now? When's your next long walk/run? I'm supposed to do 20 this weekend, but may do a 1/2 marathon instead @ race pace :lmao: . Race pace....that term just cracks me up!

Mike - How ya feelin' bub? Love the cute pic. of you  Kathy that Cam posted on the MCM thread.

Howard - Glad you're feeling less & less sore, that's great. Tell Cam the pix are great that she posted! You guys look like you all had a blast!:dance3: Still reveling in post-marathon glory?

Chester - Eagerly awaiting a ToT report, is this something I should try & do next year?

Lou - Sorry Earl didn't cooperate for the game last night. Wish the Phillies could have wrapped it up...think they'll get the game in tonight?

FrozenChickPea - Getting cold up there?? How's the heel area issue?

Dave - Hey, are you going to go to a massage therapist or something soon? You need to get that hip loosened up! Did you get snow up where you are?

Slogged 2 with Spencer yesterday then continued on for 3 @ tempHo pace. Started off awful, but then actually felt ok after the first mile. So yeah, I'm thinking about doing a 13.1 run real close to home Sat. a.m., then some miles on Sun., in lieu of my 20 LR. :rolleyes1 Go ahead, be honest, what do you think? Really, I just can't get my head wrapped around 20 miles  .

Didn't you already do 18? You seem to do really well at marathons (and 50Ks) without doing a 20. Maybe do the half on Saturday and then do something like 16-18 next weekend? You'll probably be fine.

Alternate advice - Suck it up and run the 20;)
