Post continued... I had to jump computers.

Yes, but I can see Russia from my house!
So, is this secret code for Wonderwoman really has a bionic eye to find her plane or something about Saskatchewan being so flat that someone of your stature could actually see across the Yukon to Russia?

Jodi - I know you've already left, but have fun. I can't wait to hear all about your weekend.

Hey to everyone else.

I ran 14 on Monday. 8 good, 6 not so good. Took a rest Tuesday, ran 8 yesterday evening. It was a pretty nice run and I felt good about it when I was done.

I've also been sprinkling in a couple of miles of walking with Kathy. She started her Donald training last week and I'm looking forward to hitting the road with her as often as she'll tolerate me.

Have a good evening everyone.

Michael, Michael, Michael....seeing "Russia from my house" will make perfect sense when you see Tina Fey as Sarah Palin on SNL.

As to WW finding her invisible plane, it is Fall, so if her child plays soccer she probably has one of those folding fabric chairs in the cargo hold; she just searches the hanger for a floating folded chair and a cooler full of Capri-Suns.

Sooooo, I got the free dining bounceback offer in my room. It's for Sept. 2009. I'm debating making a reservation just as a placeholder. We weren't planning on coming to Disney next year, but I'm tempted by the free dining. What do you all think?

Oh, good. I thought he might be the last person in the country to see the skit. :confused3
Steve - I will admit that I did not see the skit but did read about it.

Also, thank you for solving the invisible plane. I should have known to look for the chair and Capri Suns. Classic!!

Dave - Book the bounce back and you can always cancel. We booked 2 or 3 weeks at the Poly for August last marathon weekend and cancelled all but 2 nights. Nice to have it there if you decide to go.

Quick post - I need to focus on getting work done today so that I can get out of here at a reasonable hour so that I can pack for Disney! My flight tomorrow leaves at 6:30 AM:scared1:

I ran 12 instead of 14 this morning. I'm happy with that.

Dave - Do you think anyone here is going to tell you not to go to Disney? This is not exactly an unbiased group. In all seriousness, if you can cancel it, why not book?

Dave - I think that's why Disney puts those offers in your room. If you were not thinking about going to WDW next year you are now. Just like when I got back from the WDW Marathon and get an email to run the DL 1/2 and get a "special" medal. I had no intention of visiting California this summer but they reeled me in. I guess that's why Disney is so successful.

Quick post - I ran 4 "easy" miles yesterday at 10 mpm pace. Still not feeling completely right but I'm not in pain. It's sloppy here today so I bagged any planned run. May try to run a LR on Sunday.

Elite Racing posted my time for the PDR. I think they just took my word for it and posted what I told them I ran. At least it's official now.

Ah ha!! Now I know how to qualify for Boston!

Cindy
- Nice job on the 12. Have a safe trip and have fun.

Dave - How is your non-planned time going?

Howdy to everyone else.

I ran 16 miles this morning. It was all kinds of wet and plenty cool but actually not too bad overall. The run went pretty darn good.:cool1: One more decent outing like that and I'll declare that I've turned the corner and am now ready to run a race or two.

Ah ha!! Now I know how to qualify for Boston!
Mike - That's true. I think you just need to hide along the course and make sure you jump out at the right time so they photograph you finishing around 3:00:00. Just give the camera man a big thumbs up right under the clock. :thumbsup2 Nice job with the 16 miles. You and Cindy with these LR's during the week. Where do you guys find the time?

Good luck with the Yeti Jodi , Chester, and Dave.

Lou

Hey all! Before dancing and after work, I got 5 miles in. It was misty raining the whole time, overcast, ugly and wet. I had to make sure of my footing as I ran and couldn't see much due to the fog on my lenses and the mist of rain that covered them the whole run.

Here are my results:

Miles: 5.0
Time: 42:49
Pace: 8:34

Splits: 8:34, 8:58, 8:18, 8:43, 8:15

Have a great weekend!

Hey guys - Just got back from one of my worst runs of the year. I ran 13.5 miles in some muggy, drizzly, humid weather and my body is hating me for it. I think I was ready to give up around Mile 3 and I seriously thought about bailing at Mile 7 when I was close to home but I forced myself to finish. For most of the run I struggled to maintain a 10 mpm pace. It just never felt right.

Howard - I think I am going to pass of the DE Distance Run. I have the LBI 18-mile run on 10/12 and after today I think I need to find a way to run 15-16 miles next week. I don't want to get to LBI and end up walking the last 6 miles.

On a positive note, my PHILLIES won and I was at the game last night to see it!!! I'm 40 years old and I would have to say I have been to maybe 100 games but none like last night. It was great because my dad was to my right and my son to my left (plus it was DS's 10th b-day!!). Just an awesome game and great for 3 generations of Phillies fans to experience something positive for once. Hopefully it will last a few more weeks!

Lou

Lou~ I'm sorry that you won't be running the DE Distance Classic with me. I will give you a full report though. Get some runs in so that the LBI run will be a bit easier for you. I am glad you enjoyed the Phillies win and that they have moved into the playoffs. The Mets dropped out today I think, the Brewers are in as a Wildcard team.

My run this morning sounded exactly like yours. I just never felt good, like I had no energy, etc. I got out this morning early with the following results:

Miles: 10.01
Time: 1:30:45
Pace: 9:04

Splits: 9:30, 10:02, 8:40, 8:50, 8:33, 8:54, 8:48, 8:57, 9:08, 9:19

Conditions were far from desirable (aka miserable) with 100% humidity, misty rain and overcast skies.

Hi to everyone! Jodi, Sara, Cindy (& Matt), Colleen, Mike, Dave, Chester, Steve, etc.

Have a great week!

Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to check in . Anxiously waiting to hear some Yeti reports. I have to admit that I haven't read too much about it so I'm curious to see what it was all about.

Lou - Sorry you had a crappy run. I've had more than my fair share of those lately. Don't sweat it. Take a day or two break and go at it fresh.

Cool that you got to share a special night with your dad and son. I've got no real stake in any of the National League teams (vs. the American League where at least I dislike some teams for perceived wrongs against the Indians) but I'll probably go for an underdog like the Brewers.

Howard - Ditto with the sorry about the bad run. You've been knocking out plenty of good ones. No worries.

Steve - How are you doing up there in hurricaine country?

Yesterday was a rest day. We went apple picking. Bought 6 lbs, ate about 5 in the orchard.

I got 7 miles in this evening. Ran a little harder than I had planned but it was pretty consistent throughout.

Take it easy all.

Greetings Everyone: I got back from Disney last night. I had a good time. Saturday was the best day. DW and I hung out at the pool at the Yacht Club, went to the ESPN club to watch college football, and then I went to the race.

I thought the race was a blast. The 5K was fun, the obstacle course was fun, and the scavenger hunt was fun. I was just laughing and having a great time the whole time.

I need to apologize to my WISH team-mates about Saturday. I had to leave the party about 9:00pm. DW and I had been having some disagreements over the weekend, and I needed to get back to my DW. So I had to pull a Jodi pretty soon after the race. [Not until after I rode EE with Rhodri though.]

Cindy- I really enjoyed meeting you and Matt. Sorry I couldn't hang out at the party to chat longer. Please give my best to Rhodri. He was great, and I was so impressed with his run. That was so cool seeing him in 3rd place on the 5k at the turn-around point.

Chester- It was great seeing you and your daughter.

Jodi- It was good seeing you and your son too. I hope you guys had a great time. Did my clue passport book help you? Or did you get a different one?

Dave - Glad you had a great time and are back home safely:thumbsup2

Mike - Apple picking is definitely a fun time:yay: . I'm sure the DD's all loved it:love: .

Howard - Great job on the 10 miles depsite having to struggle through the terrible conditions:banana: .

Lou - Sorry you were having a stonker run as well:headache: . Shake it off and hopefully we'll all enjoy some cooler weather soon. I'm sure the Phillies game more than made up for it:cloud9: . Happy birthday to DS:cake:

Colleen - How'd the 15 miles gopopcorn:: ?

Nasty, nasty run for me as well yesterday:scared: . I realize I am still working my way into a routine all the way around but it was beat regardless:rolleyes: . The aforementioned weather didn't help any either:sad2: I've gotta shake it off as well and resign myself to the 1/2 in November. Too much other stuff going on these days to sweat getting miles in necessary for 26.2 in two months:rolleyes1 . Now I wonder if I'll set my sights on 26.2 in January:laughing: .

Anxiously awaiting more Yeti reportspopcorn:: . Have a great week guys:grouphug:

Welcome back Dave,

Sounds like Yeti was a blast. :cool1:

Jodi, Chester, Cindy, when are you all back??

Mike, good job getting those runs in. 7 miles here, 8 miles there, sounds like you have really turned the corner.

Sara, Lou, sorry about the stinky runs.

Colleen - How'd the 15 miles gopopcorn:: ?

I DID IT! I hurt, but I did it. I actually feel better today than I did after my 12 a few weeks ago. DH came home from work at lunch today to check on me:love: . He is so sweet!

My time really sucked. It took me 4 hours to walk 15 miles, but I walked the first 4 miles with two other moms and their dogs and it was at a more 'leisurely' pace.

More later, must get ICE!

Hey everyone: I came in 7th!!! of the solo men who got all 4 items correct. Awww man, I lost about 5 minutes waiting to cross the path of runners or I might have been in the top three. Now I think I have to go back.

Here's some pictures I got during the race.
