Hey Phillabusters!
Cindy - Welcome back. Hopefully you're reading this
after your 20 miler or else you're getting out way too late since it's going to be hotter than
Jodi in a bathrooom with no TP.
I'm super impressed at how dedicated you've been getting all your runs in.
I'll have to decide about the MCM 10K in the next couple of days.
Lou - Excellent job getting the 15 miles in with a less than perfect knee. And for what it's worth, I'm with
Jodi. You can nibble on some snacks the night before Philly but I'd like to EAT! Make some plans Bud.
Hey, what will you title this thread after the Philly Marathon has passed?
Stevie - I think we are forever destined to have the Philly thread since
Colleen forgot her Princess Mama login and can't edit the thread! BTW, I'm thinking maybe you should be well into a few Bloody Mary's/screwdrivers even if you are running the half at Philly. That'd be fun to watch.
Colleen - I guess I'm the only one that thinks a dog is way more of a pain than it's worth (an opinion developed by the fact that our dog was a mean little SOB and I have some allergy problems).
Also to belated answer your WDW question: We (meaning Kathy) haven't formalized any travel plans yet but we are shooting for a Thursday arrival and Tuesday departure. We've stayed at Pop the last 2 years and may again unless there's a better deal out there.
Dave - Good luck with/how was the Rochester Half? And BTW, what's with the holding out info about a big race?? We'd tell you if we were running a half marathon!
Sara - It sounds like a well thought out plan of saving your marathon miles for a new race vs. running WDW. The bulk of the fun is just being with everyone else. The race is just incidental.
Jodi - It's fun to see how excited you are about the Yeti!
You know how sometimes the airlines just use the same plane for the return trip? Maybe you could land, go run the 5K and make it back to the airport in time to catch the same plane before they refuel or restock the little bottles of vodka or whatever they do

.
Well, here's my saga of running woes. Friday's 12 turned into 10 but was really 6. ???
My legs have been feeling pretty achey during and after each run for a couple of weeks. I figured it was just getting back into shape. I even bought a new pair of shoes this week just in case. Well, my left quad down near my knee was bothering me more and more as I ran Friday. I finally decided around mile 6 that I should follow
Howard's lead and stop and stretch a bit. It didn't really help so I decided to just bag the rest of the run and not do any more damage. Unfortunately, 6 miles into a 12 mile loop leaves you a long way from home! I took a few shortcuts and kinda wogged the 4 miles home.
I'll try to play it smart over the next few days and hope it gets better.
Hell, if I don't get some decent LR's soon I may end up staggering a drunken half with
Chick Pea in Philly!
