Cindy- Good luck with the marathon on Sunday. You go girl! I can't wait to hear how you do.

Sorry I haven't been posting. Last week I was trying to catch up after being in Florida, and then we went to Cleveland to visit the Cool Aunt last weekend. This was to make up for not being able to go to Cleveland for marathon weekend. It's been a busy time with lots of traveling, but I got a good week of running in.

Tonight DD10 princess: is singing the national anthem with the 4th and 5th grade chorus at our minor league baseball game. Tomorrow is my wife and my 13th anniversary. We're going to see Wicked. It should be fun! Grandpa is coming in tonight to go to the baseball game and babysit for us tomorrow.

Go Penguins!

Cindy wrote: Howard - congrats on being almost done!

Thank you very much! I am just waiting for grades to post now! It feels surreal. I have two in the bag (Ethics = A; Buyer Behavior = A-) and two to go.

Steve wrote: Howard: Congrats on the race and on being back in the saddle...or back in the running shoes...or back on the roads; you get my drift.

Thank you Steve! I am back in it beginning today. I just got home from the gym where I logged 3 miles in 31 minutes and biked for 3.5 miles. Not much but it is a start.

Lou wrote: Howard - Nice job on the 5-mile race. I'll have to mark that race down for 2009.

Lou thanks! The race sells out quickly. Spring Lake is beautiful and the course is scenic. It begins and finished along side the Atlantic ocean. If you keep in touch with me through the thread, I can send you the link (next year) that we used to sign up online.

Hi to everyone I've missed (Jodi, SteveF, Mike, Dave, Colleen, Sara, etc.)!

Happy Monday... Oh, wait. It's Tuesday. I'm so confused!

Cindy - Looks like a good race but it's a weekend too late. I have to work that weekend. I also saw a half 2 weeks earlier in Poolesville, MD but I'm working that one too. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to sit around on my fat beehind all summer.

Don't worry about this weekend. You've really trained hard. You'll do great.

Sorry you missed the better Anthony Travel deals. Here's hoping for the lottery.

Lou - Glad your injury is less than it initially seemed. I hope all goes well on the work front the next few weeks.

Dave - Pretty cool about the ball game tonight. How did it go?

So, have you officially accepted the new job yet? Maybe you need a trip or two more to decide::yes:: .

Jodi - How's the abyss look from the bottom? Maybe some chocolate and brews will make it more comfortable down there!

I hear there's a 5K in January you could shoot for. You can count on us for motivation! (Hey, where's the winking smiley?? They changed all the pictures and I'm too lazy to go looking.)

Steve - Does that health food store of yours have a monthly arm pit hair contest for the ladies?? A free crystal or something for the best showing?

Howard - I almost forgot, nice job on the race.

Sara - How's the knee?

Alright, gotta go. First night of swim team for the girls.

I'm slowing sinking into the non-running abyss.....heeeelp!:worried:
Whaaaaasup Jodi?? How come you're not running? Nothing to train for? I need something to train for too. I just scrolled down and read your posts. Sorry about your ankle. How's it feeling? Is the swelling down?

Mike- How'd the swim team go for the girls? We've thought about signing our girls up for swim team too, but it's a huge time committment for them. The baseball game was fun. There were probably 400 kids on the field, and you couldn't see DD10 princess: at all, but we all had fun.

Howard- Congratulations on finishing the MBA. Wow, what an accomplishment! You've done an amazing job! You are an inspiration.

Steve- I hope your achilles starts feeling better soon.

Hello Colleen

Hello Lou

:smokin: Hi kids!!

Checking in to WISH Cindy the best of luck in San Diego this weekend:worship: . Have the best time and remember that the 26.2 miles is just secondary anyway:rolleyes1 .

Dave - Happy Anniversary:love: !! I hope you and DW have lots of fun at Wicked.

Mike - I have to go back to the doc tomorrow to "discuss" the prognosis::yes:: . I am hoping some cortisone and physical therapy will ease my tendinitis discomfort. I pulled out my stitches on Monday so I'm over the scope but not the bad pain from my other issue since he warned me the scope would irritate the tendon further:furious: . Don't be knocking the homeopathic route:hippie: .

Howard - Congrats on the race and ENJOY your weekend as well:banana: .

Lou - Best of luck getting through the work nonsense and I hope you're able to sqeeze in a few good runs to relieve some stress:eek: .

Steve
- Lots of :wizard: for the achilles.

Colleen - Any good car rates for MCO late Junepopcorn:: ? I've changed the flights so many times and the car rates are killing me!!

Jodi - Get some miles in for those of us who are unable to right now:sad1: . I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get into the NYC 1/2 and that'll give you motivation:cool1: . We have to talk WDW '09 since it seems I'll be available now:rolleyes1

Pool guy's coming back today so I may have to slip into my wetsuit before the week's out and swim my little heart out in the early mornings:yay: . I am going to ignore the fact that I hate swimming and concentrate on the fact that it is what I need to do in order to retain a cardio base. I am walking as I'm able but I am craving something more at this point:hyper: .

Happy training, racing and celebrating to all this weekend:drinking1 :rockband:

Colleen - Any good car rates for MCO late Junepopcorn:: ? I've changed the flights so many times and the car rates are killing me!!

Oh, Sara I am driving now! Those AirTran bums cancelled my non-stop CLT-MCO flights on me and had me routed through ATL in both directions. My little 75 minute flight turned into 6 hours of travel time!:scared1: So I called and cancelled the flights and got a full refund. I just hope I can make the 10 hour drive solo (without DH but with the two kids).

Dave, have fun at Wicked and Happy Anniversary! I saw Wicked the weekend I ran the Chicago Marathon, ah, good times, good times!

Jodi, you will get the drive back to run. Some of us just need time to rest.::yes::

Mike, what's going on???

Howard, congratulations on those great grades!!:yay:

Cindy, getting nervous yet??

Yoga for me this morning and I hope to get in 4 miles later today. Ah, I love not working! Actually, I do have one of my homeschoolers coming today, but that is just for an hour and then I can get the miles in before the kids are finished school.

Later!:banana: I am a happy girl today!:cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay: :banana: :hippie: ::yes::

Hey Bots

Howard - :worship: I mean really, with those grades & everything?? [/B]Nice job, dude:thumbsup2 . And WTG on that run. Look forward to actually meeting you one day @ some run somewhere :) .

Sara - Glad to see your checking in...pool guy, eh????:rolleyes1 "Bount chika-bount-bow";) Sorry that you're in that much pain...can't you keep popping drugs? YES, WDW '09...you've gotta go!

Colleen - Hey mom. I see you're driving to Disney now?? That's awesome, I love driving long distances like that. You'll be fine, just go nice & easy. Heck, I didn't know it was only 10 hours from your house to the World...I'd be down there every other weekend :lmao: . :thumbsup2 on the yoga & walking, I've gotta try that yoga stuff soon, before I seize up!

Dave - Happy Anniversary to you & your wifey-poo!:bride: Wicked's an awesome show, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Very cool with the DDs singing:thumbsup2 .

Mike - The abyss looks like it always does when I'm down here:rotfl: , I kinda like it. I did the chocolate thing last week & will be drinking an Optimator (we bought a 6pk over the weekend...they're gone, so of course I had to get another) tonight while I cook dinner, thinking about our final mile in Epcot (somewhere near the Germany pavilion). How was your DD swim team gig? Doesn't that involve getting up @ unGodly hours??:bitelip: Have fun!

Lou - Bike riding AND running?? Are you gonna spring a triathalon or dualathalon on us sometime soon??? You've gotta be jonesing by now, it's been a few weeks since your last race. You too, Mike.:hyper:

Cindy - RU & the hubby getting excited yet???? I so wish I was going? How's he feelin', by the way?? Painfree? Do you think we'll find out tomorrow about NYC????:hyper:

Hummus - I hope your frickin' achilles give you a break soon :furious: . These smilies they brought to this page are funny.

So I ran today (thank goodness - I was becoming a beee-atch on wheels :moped: ; even more so than usual). The ankle felt fine, it's almost done being puffy. I iced it afterwards & we'll see what happens tomorrow. Only went 4 miles, but I'm happy with that for now. Eeewww! I put lotion on today @ the store b/c my hands were really dry, and it smells like butt. Gotta go wash it off as I'm getting nauseated. (they need a barfing smilie).

Jodi - Your posts are so much fun I could read them twice! Oh wait, I just did.

So, you picked the a** scented lotion? Seems a strange choice to me but(t) to each her own.

Happy to hear the ankle is almost normal size. Happier to hear that you are fondly remembering our jaunt through Epcot. Truly the bright point of a bad memory for me.

The swim thing is just a little more relaxed since it's the summer team. They have to be at the meets at 6:00AM on Saturdays but all the practices are at decent times. We don't have to travel all over God's green Earth like Colleen does since it's a local league. It is a lot of time but keeps them active and takes up a few of those hard to fill summer hours each day.

Dave - Happy anniversary!! Enjoy the show.

:duck: :duck: Can somebody tell me where in the course of a normal conversation you would use this goofy smiley? "We were at a wake when the funeral director started throwing strawberries at people!"

Sara - Ditto what Jodi said about the 70's era XXX-film music and the pool boy! I read that 3 times trying to figure out what all was related. I decided it's none of my business and moved on.

Take it easy on the knee for a while still. No need to rush things.

Colleen - Great to hear :listen: you are a happy girl! I hope the happiness continues.

Howard - Wow! Great job on the grades. That's really something to be proud of.

Cindy - You still with us?

I've had a really pleasant day to this point. Mowed the grass, did a little work around the house, had a rousing Best 2 out of 3 series of Candyland out on a blanket with DD4, and went on a nice 6+ mile run. Oh, and Kathy baked a batch of brownies. It doesn't get much better than that.

Hello.

I just spent 45 minutes typing personal responses to everyone and my G-@$%%& computer did not accept and erased them! :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

I need to step back and take a breath. I shall be in touch.

Hello!

Dave: Happy Anniversary!

Cindy: Ooooh, just a few more days and you are off to the left coast! We will be awaiting all the details. popcorn:: Good luck!

Sara: The 70's adult film soundtrack references have already been posted; let's just say that I wish you pool boy eye candy. Let me know what your PT is up to. Of course, as I have said before, my specialty is brain injury; so if you need me you are in more trouble than you thought.

Colleen "Happy Girl": Your good mood is permeating my computer; you are SO in a good place! :goodvibes. I can tell this from all the smilies in your post even after saying you may have to drive 10 hours with the kiddos!

Howard: An "A" in Ethics? Come on, man! Oh wait; I remember from Business School that you have to learn all the rules before you can break them. :lmao:

Jodi: I'm so glad you could run today. I am right there with you on the Jekyl-Hyde thing when you can not get on the roads. I fear I am spiraling into the abyss-I have not run in 3 weeks and thought everything was progressing well, but I took a few quick steps today (I'm coaching DD 10's softball team) and Zwing! my achilles let me know that it still hates me. [Many, many expletives deleted.]

Mike:
Steve - Does that health food store of yours have a monthly arm pit hair contest for the ladies?? A free crystal or something for the best showing?
In my health food store crystals are reserved for those patrons who win the colon cleanse product aisle contest. (Truly, I do not want to know how they submit proof of success. :scared:)

Hi Lou. I hope you find some piece of mind slogging through all the work. :)

Hello everyone.

Hi all. I'm still here. Last day at work. Of course I have a million things that need to get done before I can leave (this always happens). I only be out for the race on Fri and Mon but I'll actually be out of the office Tues and Wed next week for work. (We land at BWI sometime late Monday night and I have to catch a 7 AM flight out of National to Kansas City Tuesday morning - I'm sure my post-marathon legs will LOVE all that sitting on the plane).

I'm feeling very :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: right now.

I'm not sure when I will get to get on here and post after the race, but my bib number is 11134 if anyone is interested.

Thanks for all the good WISHes. Sorry to be all about me. I'll try to get back on here later to respond to everyone.

Good luck Cindy! Have a great time. Best WISHes, and you go girl!

Good morning all!

Cindy - I'm excited for you!! You're going to have such a blast. Isn't that always the way with work? You get a couple of days off, but man do you pay for it!! Make sure to soak your legs after your run...your flight back may be a bit heinous, but you'll be all set by the time you have to head out to Kansas City.

Hummus - Really sorry to hear about your achilles :( , it's so not easy being sidelined. The abyss isn't so bad, just get some chocolate & beer (organic, of course) & you should be all set. I think I knew that your PT specialty was for TBIs, but forgot :worship: . That must be a fascinating career & very rewarding. I took a lot of people to Gaylord Hospital here in CT (where the Central Park jogger re-habed) & they did amazing work. In fact, a partner of mine @ the time was in a terrible MVA & had a wicked TBI. He went there unable to walk or talk & 3months later walked out conversational.

Mike - Is the Goofy really a bad memory for you?? . Listen, although I frequent our local health food store (& their cool restaurant) I want to go on record that I DO shave my armpits. OK, now that we've cleared that up...

Colleen - Still HAPPY?? You go, girl.

Sara - So did the pool/cabana boy show up yesterday?:rolleyes1 popcorn:: ::yes::

Dave - How was WICKED??

Lou - Hey, I think I may be running a 5K this weekend...trying to pick up on your good habits. :thumbsup2

My son & I bought Wii Fit the other day & tried it out last night for the first time. It is AWESOME!! I've found my CT & will most likely dump my gym membership!

Totally OT. Need your guys opinion: Do you think it would be totally nuts for me to rent a small RV (they're running a huge special...rental would only cost about $220 for 7 nights/ all inclusive w/ 3,000 free miles) & drive out to AZ with my son, step-son & step-daughter? It's a one way rental & we'd fly back. I've ?drove/driven? cross country twice b4 & loved it. Bruce thinks I am completely insane & says it's too dangerous. I think he's more worried about his children's well-being for the week :stir: . He says I'm like a gypsy, but I think it'd be cool for the kids. So, am i nuts (i mean about this)?

If you need another gypsy for your bus, I'm available:hippie: . That sounds like WAY too much fun. Definitely go for it:moped: !! Poor Bruce is going to get an ulcer over it but it's all good::yes:: .
The pool guys are just opening up the pool and I didn't really get a great look at them since DH was making sure I wasn't checking them out:duck: . I did strut out in some spandex for a walk while they were there:rotfl: but that was mere coincidence:confused3 .
I am still popping Vicodin like candy and I need a cortisone shot in the leg today:furious: . It's not about running at this point but merely being able to perform my daily functions without being in agony or becoming a drug addict. If my yahoo ortho had given me the MRI way back when I would have addressed the tendinitis in September but now it's nearly June and the tendon is real mad:headache: .
Glad you got out for a run to improve your sunny demeanor:hug: .

See, I KNEW it was a good idea!!

Pool guyS?:rolleyes1 ahem....::yes:: Have you gone "swimming" yet?

I vote for the drug addict route, agony is way overrated!! (but I really am sorry you're in so much pain :worried: ).

Wicked was awesome. DW and I had a great time. The music was great, and the musical was sooo much better than the book was. The book got way too bogged down in details, and the musical was much lighter and funner.

OK to play devil's advocate about the RV plan - how much is the gas going to cost? In all honesty, I think it would be a ton of fun. DW and I say we want to do the cross-country camper trip sometime with the girls to see the western national parks. However, $4/gallon gas is so expensive, and what kind of gas mileage are you going to get in that RV? Alright, that's enough of me being a wet blanket.

Hey Sara, good luck with those vicodin. Uuuugh, it doesn't sound like you have much of a choice there between agony and addiction. I think I would take the addiction route too. Heck, they can always wean you off it with methadone. Plus, you can meet some more interesting people when you go in for methadone. Boy here's a picture of a strung-out addict hopping aboard the hippy bus with Jodi. Can I come?

Have fun with the pool boys... spandex, vicodin, and pool boys, sounds like the 70's XXX porn music is still playing at your house.

Hi Lou. I hope you find some piece of mind slogging through all the work. :)

Hey Lou: I'd like you to know I was wishing you peace of mind, not hoping that all the work resulted in you having to search for pieces of your mind.
