I won't be mean like Sara
What:scared1: ?! Don't be spreading those rumors!!:rotfl: I just spent 5 hours at Chruch today filling my soul with the Spirit(not confessing:rolleyes1 ) so I pray you really don't think of my racing persona as "mean." Definitely not warm or approachable but hopefully not mean:sad1: . Glad to see there seems to be a lot of 4:30 folks for Philly:banana: .

I can't post right now because I've been gone all day (see above) but I'll check in later.

Lou - :cheer2: Best of luck tomorrow!! I'll be thinking of you:hug: .

Mike - How are you makin' out?? Better question, how are the GIRLS doing? And of course, have you even HEARD from Kathy, or is she just kinda forgetting about things for the weekend :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :woohoo:
Ultrado - I've turned them into overtired, cranky, little blobs. They wanted to go to see me play softball last night. No problem (except that the last game was over at 10:30 and they needed hosed off when we got home and ended up in bed after 11PM). Then I had a bunch of yard work to do today. No sitting on their little butts watching TV. They were forced to be OUTSIDE all day!! Now it's 6:30 and they haven't had dinner and need a trip thru the decontamination bath again. And more of the same for tomorrow.

Kathy? Kathy who? No really, she called last night from Epcot (already had a margarita, a treat from Norway and was working on a glass of wine from Italy:laughing: ).

I hope your recovery is going alright. Just take it easy for a bit.

Dave - Nice job on your run this morning. It's beem a bit since you've hit double digits, hasn't it?

Sara
- "Not warm or approachable". Yeah, that's it. That's a world away from mean:rolleyes: .

Steve - Baby that achilles. Maybe you should see a PT. Oh wait...

Lou - Good luck again. A little rain is no problem. Kinda nice, actually.

How do you do's to everyone else.

Gotta go. The oven is just about heated up for dinner. Gourmet frozen pizza, don't you know.

Hey Guys,

Just got back from the Broad Street Run. I did pretty good. I kicked out a time for this 10-mile race of 1:12:50 for a 7:14 pace. That was the fastest pace I have ever run...race or training. My previous PR pace was a 7:43 at a 10K last November that ended up getting me injured. I actually felt great at the end of the race.

The weather held up. It was cloudy at the start with a lot of dew in the air but the sun came out towards the end of the race. It was actually a little warm by the end.

I through a race report up at the link below.

Lou - :worship: :worship: Holy smokes, congrats on the PR:cheer2:  . Makes me feel like I should at least TRY to get a run in today:thumbsup2 . I'm off to read your race report right now...

Holy Crapolla Lou!!

Were you hopped up on Sudafed? Steal the kid's Ritalin? Blood doping?

Maybe you were wearing some of those shorty shorts that you swore no one in Philly wore and were being accosted by a bunch of thugs???

Man, that is fantastic!!! WAY TO GO!

Now, you know we are going to hold you to a little higher standard from here on out, don't you?

Excellent job again.

Lou, Lou, Lou!

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Phenomenal! Congratulations. Fantastic run, fantastic effort!

I am truly not worthy. Upon meeting you in Philadelphia this Fall, please feel free to dispatch me to collect your race bib and goodie bag; procure your nutrition and hydration needs, and carry your luggage into the hotel. Upon my marathon finish I promise not to immediately contact you, as you will already be home napping comfortably. :goodvibes

Seriously, man---outstanding. Feel good about yourself and your effort; you deserve it. :thumbsup2

Lou - YOU DA' MAN!!! :worship: :worship: :worship:

Whoa, you were smokin'. Way to go on the run. Congratulations on the PR!

Mike - You know what...my shorts were a little shorter than normal. The shortie shorts may have made the difference. I found that the longer shorts were "wind resistance...just wind resistance."

It's nice to run a fast race but it was just a 10-miler. Hopefully I can keep it up over the summer and ran a sub-4 Philly Marathon. That's the big goal.

Lou

My lovely wife called earlier today fresh from a Minnie PR and a trip to Germany (where her little 5'2" friend proceded to drink 2 liters of beer).

I got to missing one of my favorite Disney activities so I thought I'd share some of my foolery with you all.

Sorry for the absurdly large size pictures of my ugly mug (my face, not the Optimator!)

AH, yes, good times indeed. Maybe Sara, Jodi and I will indulge when we are there in June.

Mikey, congrats to Kathy for her PR!!:cool1:

Lou, you machine, wowzie!:dance3:

No exercise for me this weekend, I did eat chocolate cake and ice cream.:sad2: But I am out of bed this morning and set to go to 6 a.m. yoga.:thumbsup2

Great pictures Mike! I need to get me one of those Optimators!

OK, so get this... I haven't even accepted the new job yet at SUNY/Geneseo (or even seen the official offer), and they want me to go to a meeting. They'll pay my expenses, but the meeting is coming up soon - May 16 - 18th. Yeah, that's right, the same weekend as the Cleveland Marathon (which I can't run). Guess where the meeting is? Yeah, that's right... ORLANDO!!! It's at the Gaylord Palms Hotel!

I WANNA GO!!!!! And I wanna take the family with me toooooo!!!!!

HOLY CRAP

Lou - :worship: :worship: "We're not worthy, we're not worthy". I can't even WATCH people run that fast, sheesh! :thumbsup2 Sweet pace...are you like a new superhero with your shortshorts & super speed...I will NOT write my idea for the new super hero name...:lmao: , but a few choice ones popped into my head :rolleyes1 .

Dave - Just TELL them you'll take the job & go to the meeting!! FREE TRIP!! The wife won't mind if you leave her home, will she? lol

Mike - :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: LOVE the photos!! We definitely all need to get together AFTER a run, as opposed to a night b4 water drinking carb-fest...it could get interesting w/ alcohol involved popcorn:: :rolleyes1 . Glad Kathy had fun & I'm assuming the girls survived as I didn't read anything in the news to the contrary! What's on tap w/ running for you? You're tapering, right??

Sara - Any running? How do you feel?

HummusSteve - How's the achilles thingie? I hope Lou tips you well for all your hard work in Philly!:yay:

Colleen - :rotfl2: :lmao: And what's wrong with chocolate cake??? Kudos for getting up this a.m. for Yoga.. I think I need to starting doing something else as the gym is just not doin' it for me for Xt. I'm working on the June trip to Disney...not sure yet, though!

Cindy & Chester - popcorn:: popcorn:: Anxiously awaiting if any sibling fights errupted or if Tracy's headed off to the divorce attorney's offices this a.m. :rotfl2:

Well THAT didn't take Disney long, did you see they already posted for the PRINCESS 1/2 marathon to take place on March 8 '09?? The medal is a Tiara:confused: :confused3 . Mike, I KNOW you'll be racin' this one!:lmao: . Great, another innaugural race I'm gonna HAVE to do, I'm such a d-bag!! Registration opened today!:scared1: SHOW ME THE $$ says Disney!

I ran 3 on Sun. & got up @ 5:30 for a short 4 this a.m. I'm feeling sorta like Forrest Gump in that I'm just "done" running. Although it was nice to get out this morning. Toes are almost healed.

:confused3 :confused3 Yes, that is a great idea, but how do you propose we do that?? You do realize you will have to do STAY an extra night?? I am sure Mike will be buying the first round.:thumbsup2

Hi all, I'm back!

My flight was delayed and I just got into the office, so it's probably going to be a long night, but I couldn't resist coming here before starting work.

Lou - Wow!:worship: :worship: :worship: Congrats on the PR!

Dave - Congrats on the job offer.

Mike - Tell Kathy congrats on the PR. I never did see her - I was too busy trying to keep my sister from hating me.

Chester - It was great to meet you and Tracy this weekend.

My sister did finish the race btw. I was really nervous that she was going to get swept, but I actually don't think they swept people.

We had a good time in Disney despite the fact that my sister said that she hated the race and that she would never do anything like that again. And her telling me that she was so happy that it was over because it had caused her so much stress and anxiety over the past few months. That just made me feel terrible. I didn't force her to do it . . . sigh.

I'll do a real race report later, but for the races themselves, I had 2 really, really, really good races. The 5k was a huge PR for me (24:48 - just sub 8 min/miles) and the 15k was my first 15k - I was trying to stay just under 9 min/miles and I did with a 1:23:16. I'm very happy, but honestly, this is making me a little nervous. I've had a number of really good races in a row, I seem due for a bad one, I just hope that it isn't the marathon . . .

Ok, I really should get to work.

Cindy - I'm sooo happy for you & your awesome times!! :worship: :woohoo: :yay: . What is goin' ON with you people on these boards w/ the paces??? Don't tell me I'm going to have to start doing tempoyukkie runs  . Sorry your sister was less than thrilled, but don't sweat it! She's a big girl & IMHO, shouldn't have dumped all of that on you...ahhh, but family will do as they please with eachother, no? Hey, it's over now & perhaps you'll have a good "laugh" about it one day! In the meantime, don't sweat the marathon, you'll do fine & don't forget to bask in the afterglow of a great, great race (2 of 'em)!!

Colleen - I walked into that one, huh? Allright, one day I'll stay for another night so we can party :rolleyes1 popcorn:: . C'mon, I think you'd look great in a tiara!! You can glue a little maple leaf on top! .

Oh, crap! I think I am going to have to think about re-newing my annual pass now. Just think, Jodi, Cindy, Sara, Kathy, Kathy's sister , a round of tiara's and a round of Optimators (the beer)! Ah goodness!:dance3:

a round of tiara's and a round of Optimators (the beer)! Ah goodness!:dance3:
Thanks for clarifying. I had a flash of performance anxiety there for a minute!

Cindy - Nice job on a great weekend. Sorry you never saw Kathy. She missed seeing you.

Greetings Team: Yesterday I did 5 miles in 41:33 min for 8:18 mpm pace. Wow, that was my fastest ever. I'm going to consider it a tempoyucky run.

Cindy- Congratulations on such great times for both of your races. Sorry, your sister didn't have a better time for the race, but you didn't force her into it.

OK, I'm going to go to the meeting in Orlando 5/15 --> 5/19. I'm getting very excited to have this little solotrip. Do you think it would be wierd to go to the Pirate and Princess Party at MK by myself on Friday evening? The meeting ends at 5pm that day, and the party starts at 7pm.

Mike - Great pics!

Dave - Not bad. You get the job situation resolved and managed to score a free trip to Orlando. I need a week like that. I don't think it's weird to go to the party. You'll probably get to do more at MK anyway.

Jodi - I can run fast but you can run REAL FAR. If we could combine forces we could run a sub 3:30 time at Philly in November. The shortie shorts do present a dilema...do you want to look cool or run fast?

Cindy - Way to go on the races. Nice times on both the 5K and 15K. Looks like you'll be running a sub-4 marathon at Philly.

Hi Colleen, Steve, Chester, Sara, and everyone else.

No running yesterday. I'll squeeze in a few mile (maybe 3) this morning. Not much else to report.

Have a great day!

Lou
