Wow, you stay away for 24 hours & all heck (I can't say hell on a Disney board, can I) breaks loose. Aren't we all in a posting frenzy...

Howard - Listen, I see no problem at all with a 3 week training plan...that is, of course, if you cut down your taper to a week :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: . Looking forward to meeting you in Philly (or some other race b4 then).

Cathy - I am SO excited for you & your sister :yay: . What a fun time ya'll are gonna have. But remember, like Mike said, NO FIGHTING!! Let her call the shots, as you know you'll be in Disney like, 5 more times in the next 10 months.:rotfl2: Have FUN!!

Mike - OK, when my niece was little she couldn't pronounce Jodi, so she said...dodo. Nowadays, though, it's used in a deragatory way to talk about me when I'm in the room & someone wants to get a dig in...now WHY anyone would want to get a dig in on ME...well, I've no idea  . Have fun with the girls & try not to twist their pretty little brains too much while Kathy's away. I'm sure her mother will be @ your doorstep tomorrow a.m.:rolleyes1 . I hope Kathy has fun @ Minnie  . Good luck w/ your run tomorrow. Nothing like having to p/u DD from daycare to pick up the pace, eh?

Sara - Hmmmm.. When exactly IS the Lake Placid marathon?? I would only be doing the 1/2, though. I really might just have to drive up there for this...What'd'ya say, Dave?. How was your run today? How did the accupuncturist go?

Colleen - Hey, I completely forgot about your MCM entry. What are you gonna do? Maybe you could sell that thing somehow if you don't plan on going...maybe someone in NYC will buy it from you when you're there running the marathon :rotfl2: :lmao: . BTW, we don't have to stay in NYC the night b4 or of the marathon. I keep forgetting they have a late start time, we can just stay @ my house!

Dave - Glad the hip's feeling better & you're able to get some runs in. Also glad about work, it's nice having "options" sometimes, isn't it?? How far of a drive is the Lake Placid 1/2 for you?:rolleyes1 I've gotta make my Embassy Suites reservations tomorrow!

Chester - I hope you & Tracy have a BLAST @ the Minnie this weekend! Have you "set sail" yet? :lmao: . Awaiting a full report when you get back about how you pushed your betrothed out of the way to get the last cup of Gatorade @ the aid station  .

Steve-OH - Oh yeh, I remember you...I think. Didn't I sit next to you somewhere? Well, I'd say "tell Krista hi", but I doubt you'll be back on these boards for another 3 months, so forget it.:rolleyes1

Lou - Good luck in whatever race you're doing this weekend...I can't keep up with you!! I'm glad that work is busy.

Real quick: I ran 4 miles yesterday in my idjit socks. It felt fine, a little sore on the nastytoes. Today I ran 5 miles & you'd think I ran 20. Just outta breath, hot spots on the feet (guess I shoulda put some bodyglide on, mybad) & all around sucky. Oh well, I'll see what happens on Sat.

Cool!:thumbsup2 How far are you away where we need to be race morning?

Diamond Dave - Sounds like things are getting better on the job front. That's the way it usually works out...people don't realize what they have until you threaten to leave. It would be nice to have options. Good luck!!

Mike - You're a running machine. 6, 8, 20. Cleveland should be a nice marathon. I liked the city the one time I was there.

Howard - 3 marathons in a few months...wow! I bet you'll PR Philly. You'll get better running weather and the course is pretty nice.

Sara - How did you do with your run? Listen to any good iPod running songs lately?

CIndy - Good luck with the 5K and have fun on vaca.

Jodi - Nice job getting in some miles despite the bad feet. I can't imagine how bad it must feel after an ultra.

Colleen - So, did you get into the Embassy Suites for Philly?

Hey Chester, Steve, and everyone I missed.

Work is still pretty insane. It's hard to work and plan to buy the company you work for at the same time. May will be a huge month for me.

Got the Broad St Run on tap for Sunday. Should be a fun race. Lots of people run it and I get to run on familar turf. Planning to run 4 today. Did 3 and 3 earlier this week. No major miles for me right now. After this race I have no idea what is next. Phila Distance Run isn't until September. I may do a few shore runs this summer. We'll see.

Jodi- Did you make your Embassy Suites reservation yet? What do you have going on on Saturday? I just did the Mapquest, and it says it's 5 hours from Rochester to Lake Placid. I'm actually kind of surprised they said it's that far, but DW's Uncle has a cabin on Saranac Lake and he was asking us to come out when we saw him last weekend. So we would have a close place to stay. I'd like to do it.

Mike- Would you want my bib for the Cleveland Marathon? I did register for the Marathon, not the half, and I'd love to recover some of that money since I'm not running. No pressure at all though...

Dave - Sorry, I'd take you up on it but I've already registered.

Lou - Have a good race Sunday!

Jodo - Thanks for the 411 on the nickname. We would never use anything like that in a derogatory manner. It's all love girl!

No doubt about the daycare time being a big motivator for pace. I keep picturing me dead along side the road somewhere and my little darling sitting on the curb outside the school! We'll see how it goes.

Gotta go get ready.

Hey McPhunions,

Well, I managed to get 17 miles in during preschool this morning. I could have squeezed 1 more mile in but the run had devolved into something less than productive at that point so I didn't push it.

Now I'm nervous.:sad2: That's 2 pretty bad LR's in a row. One, I could chalk up to a lot of things and shrug it off. Two, you have to worry.

I guess I'll just try not to read too much into it and be happy that today was my last double digit run for a couple of weeks. It's all taper from here baby!

Now the trick will be staying awake for the rest of the day.

What's everyone else up to?

Hey PhillyPeeps!

Mike - Oh please, don't sweat the 2 rough LRs, I am QUEEN of the crappy runs & always seem to at least finish my races :rotfl: . You'll be fine, trust me  . You've been running quite a bit lately & @ optimum pace, perhaps your body is getting a bit pissed off?? So will the girls cry for their mom @ night? :sad1: . My son would FREAK if I left him with Bruce for the weekend :rotfl2: . But then again, anybody would. So glad that you made it on time to p/u DD. It brought back memories of me being the last one @ Nursery School (musta been 5:30), waiting for my mom to get me :sad1: . No wonder why I'm so heinous! She scarred me for life  .

Any updates from Kathy yet? She's prolly poolside checkin' out the Speedos :lmao: .

Colleen - My home is about 25 mins. to the train, then about a 90 minute train ride in. We'd still have to get up @ the buttcrack of dawn, but it'd be sooo much fun. Or, if we wanted, my mom lives only 40 miles or so outside of the City, we could stay there the night b4!! If YOU don't get in this year & I do, I'm going to defer 'til next year. No use trying to pack 2 marathons in in 4 weeks!:headache:

Lou - Don't kid yourself, I know it'll only be about 4 weeks b4 you're signed up for another race. Have fun this weekend & I hope it doesn't rain on you!!

Dave - No, I haven't booked Embassy Suites, but will today...for sure!! Is Lake Placid really that far from you? Sheesh, I wonder where it is from me. I'm going to have to check it out.

Sara - Hey, any running? How's the leg you Crack***re?:lmao: Ever thought of getting the Marathon Ho' shirt? :rotfl2: I'm picking that bad boy up next opportunity, forget what Bruce says!! Really, I could stay @ your house for the Lake Placid gig? :yay: popcorn:: popcorn:: That may be kind of creepy, though, wouldn't it? Like mixing real life with cyber life? Or something??

Nothing goin' on here today...oh, I did sign up for the Yeti Run in Sept. with my son, though. I know, it's a ripoff (since when is Disney not), but I've GOT to do this race. Plus I want to go to MNSSHP, I've never been. Jeez, good thing I have a kid, otherwise it might be a little suspect, me wandering around Disney all smiles, by myself. :rolleyes1

Hey Everyone: I just received a call from the Provost at SUNY/Geneseo, and she "informally" offered me the position. She said she was going to put an offer letter in the mail, but wanted to let me know that she was going to offer me the job. Thanks for all your support... it looks like we won't be homeless and hungry afterall...

CONGRATS DAVE!!!!!! :yay: :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm SO happy for you! Can I borrow some money??? . Good for you, dude.

Ultragirl -

1. More likely than my body being P.O.'d is that I just sucked today.

2. All the girls miss Mommy but seem to be holding up well so far.

3. Now I'm not saying Kathy's not checking anyone out but I can quite confidently say that the Speedo look is not gonna get you too far with her.

I think she did the Fort Wilderness Segway tour this morning and is having tea at GF this afternoon. Or maybe she's just silly drunk somewhere in Epcot laughing at the tourists (oh wait, that's would what I would be doing).

Dave - Congrats on the offer. Now is the time to start really working your current spot. Try to sweeten the pot a bit.

Great Dave! I knew it would work out in the end, it always does. :thumbsup2 So are you going to take it or wait and see what happens with your current job?

Jodi, good idea about NYC marathon. I am not sweating it :scared: anymore.

I will be back later to catch up.

Mikey, I hope Kathy is enjoying the scenery at the pool! :beach:

Hi everyone: Thanks for the congratulations. To be honest, I'm not sure what will happen quite yet, but it's nice to have an offer in my back pocket.

Jodi- Yeah, borrow some money, right. So moving from the medical school where I am now to accept a job at a state university is a 20% pay cut! So my DW and I need to figure out if we can afford for me to accept the job. That's a wakeup call isn't it?

Anyhow, it is nice to have the offer, and I really do like the folks down there at SUNY/Geneseo. I'm hoping we can get them to boost the salary a little bit so it's not quite as big of a pay cut for me.

Hi everyone: Thanks for the congratulations. To be honest, I'm not sure what will happen quite yet, but it's nice to have an offer in my back pocket.

Jodi- Yeah, borrow some money, right.

OK, I'll loan you $$ instead :lmao: .

Mike - Kathy just TOLD you that she doesn't like the Speedo look ;) , that's what we ALL say!! Oooh, I wanna do the Segway tour!! I wanna run people over!!:thumbsup2 .

Colleen - Glad I could allay your anxiety! I forget, have YOU ever been to NYC???

Dave - CONGRATS on the offer!!! That's a big weight off your shoulders now.

I picked up my race gear for the Broad St Run yesterday evening at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. They have 24,000+ people registered for this 10-mile race. I thought that was pretty nuts. DW said, "that's because normal people run a race like that. Only nuts like you actually want to run a marathon." She may be right.

Anyway...it will be cool to run down Broad St tomorrow with 24,000 "normal" runners.

Jodi - I'm hoping you don't jinx me with the rain comment because the forecast is iffy for Sunday. However, since I am not normal I can deal with the rain for 10 miles. :lmao:

Heading out for some mountain biking this AM. I'll try to get in 12 miles on the trails.

Lou

Good morning

Sorry I've been absent. The achilles is still sore, so just one 30-minute trial run this week. Let's see...trying to catch up:

Cindy: Hope you are having a great time at Minnie. Good luck!

Mike: Well wishes for Kathy for this weekend! Don't worry about the lousy LRs: yin-yang, my friend.

Sara: Hope the hip is doing well. Hey, I'll probably be around 4:30 for Philly, so maybe I can pace a little with you (I know, I know--no talking!) ;)

Howard: If training goes well, I may be around your pace for Philly this Fall. Good luck fininshing up school.

Dave: Congrats on the job offer. Glad the hip has been cooperating. I am also booked for Emb. Suites for Philly. I think we need a local to suggest a dinner ressie for all of us the night before (we'll ask Lou).

Lou: Good luck this weekend. 24,000 runners?!

Jodi: VA beach; Alaska? OK, totally missed those. I am in for Philly and Jan. 09 Goofy (knees willing). Hope your feet/foot situation is improving.

Chester: Good luck to you and Tracy this weekend. Have fun!

Colleen: Nice job on all the walking miles you are getting in. :thumbsup2 I wish I could do that, but I find when I'm injured I get all mopey when I can't run and I end up doing nothing (well, except maybe for eating nachos)

I apologize if I missed anyone; and hello! Have a great weekend all.

Good Morning Team: I did a long run this morning - 10 miles in 1:35 min/9:35 mpm pace :cool1:. I felt great! :thumbsup2 No trouble with the hip at all. OK, let the kid shuttling begin. Talk to you all later.

Dave - :woohoo: NICE JOB!! Very impressive that you jumped right back to a 10 miler @ a great pace AND without hip pain!!:thumbsup2

HummusSteve - Hey, I've just been rambling about different races I want to do in the future, but I think we're all trying to agree on VA Beach marathon in March of '09. I'm hoping to run Philly in 4:30 as well :confused3 . So we'll have a whole contingency. I won't be mean like Sara, but I won't talk...you can talk & I'll listen (ask Dave about it).:rotfl: I hope the achilles begins to get better...have you been soaking it in warm water & epsom? My toes are better, but my body's still beat, I'm gonna need a little time to recover from this one, I think.

Mike - How are you makin' out?? Better question, how are the GIRLS doing? And of course, have you even HEARD from Kathy, or is she just kinda forgetting about things for the weekend :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :woohoo: .

Lou - :headache: Sorry about the weather comment...you'll be fine, it's ME who stays in when it rains.

Mrs. Wenches - HI!!

OK, so I booked the EMbassy Suites as well for the Sat. night b4 Philly. I think you better make the reseravtions Lou! For whatever restaurant you were talkin' about...what was it the "WaterWell" or something?
