Hey Dudes!!
Steve - It's official, you're insane!! 20 MILES & you were watching MONK??? Man, you ARE a glutton for punishment
. Seriously, though, nice job, man!!

- OMG, 10 miles on Sat? For no apparent reason??
. Wow, impressive. The only reason why I keep signing up for these runs is 'cause I need a REASON to go out & run
. Nice job! Also, re: the Minnie - I bet you could scrap a ride off somone on these boards or just get a cab - I don't think that'd be too expensive.
Mike -
WTG on 12 miles this weekend, I'm jealous. Listen, I figure since you rotate out of work & have a few weeks off now, there's no excuse for you to miss runs. I'm not buying the kids' programs & stuff - nice try though
! Dude, you've gotta run! If YOU don't run you KNOW I'm not gonna run!
Lou - 14.5 miles? Nice job
& what a pace. I'm afraid ya'll be waaaaay out in front of me come Jan. Oh well, I'm used to all that!
Dave - Hmmm...I think I remember you! That's such a cool story about the running club. I think that perhaps I wouldn't "fit in" with something like that...as you know, I don't talk much when I run!! But free hot chocolate is quite enticing! Good luck w/ your job prospects!
Colleen - Sorry your knee's being a jerk! But I'm so glad you were still able to get serious mileage in...seeing as you've got such a loooong taper scheduled
!
Sara - Did you run vicariously on Sat??? How'd the volunteering go? Were you your usual, cheery self?
Chester -
Anxiously awaiting a half report!! BTW, how's your son's training going? IS he training??
So Fri. the weather started in the early afternoon - snow/sleet/rain/icy crap, so off I got again to the dreadmill @ the gym. Not abe to stand a full 60 mins. for the THIRD time of the week I only did 50. I WILL not be returning to the dredmill until after Jan, if ever. It has totally messed up my knees!
. That's all I need for the GOOFY, beat knees! Yesterday I went out for a short 4 miler & was pretty uncomfortable for most of the run...right knee's worse off
. I'm so aggrevated! Oh well, lesson learned. I did have a dream last night that I finished a marathon & was all energetic at the end
. Dreams can be quite amusing!
NYC was great, although quite busy, of course. We hit Chinatown & got some of our teas, had lunch uptown @ our favorite restaurant & went to see the play "The Homecoming"...ok, that was weird...but we wanted to see Ian McShane on stage, so...Then we wandered around for a while & went to Bryant Park where they had all these really, really cool Christmas shops outside (way overpriced but fun to look around). They also put down a huge ice skating rink in the park - real neat stuff. We caught the 5:30 train home which got us back to New Haven @ around 7:20. The only reason why I mention this is because around 8:30 some poor soul decided to jump in front of train & off himself...train activity didn't resume until 11pm. OMG, if I'd been stuck in the city w/ Bruce, unable to "get out" He would've freaked so hard!!
He's one of those people that prepares for absolutely worse case scenario i.e. he brings glow sticks w/ us when we go to the city for the day "in case the power goes out"
...ok? Get the picture?? I told him if that ever happened I'd take those glow sticks & sell them for $20e. on the street!!
Oh yeh, back to running stuff - I've got 20 on tap for the weekend w/ crappy weather forecast pretty much all week here...guess I'll be getting wet!
Did I miss anything? Sorry for the long post
