Hi everyone! Hope all is well in your world. I took yesterday off to take a friend out to dinner with my family. So, I made up for it tonight. Here is the info...

Miles: 7.03
Time: 1:01:27
Pace: 8:44

Splits:
8:45
8:56
8:38
8:52
8:44
8:47
8:30

If anything, I am fairly consistent in my pace. It didn't fluctuate much tonight. Of course, I am laying it all out there the whole time so it should be close to the same pace most of the time.

Tomorrow I have 6 on the schedule and for Sunday, 10.

Have a super weekend! Happy training! Happy Taper! Happy everything!:rolleyes1

Here is my information for today....This running stuff is getting old quick!

Miles: 6.0
Time: 52:57
Pace: 8:49

Splits:
8:14
8:28
8:37
9:09
9:11
9:15

Tomorrow I have 10 planned. I know it will be at a slower pace than today's run. I wanted to mention that my weight has finally dropped a bit more (I was at a plateau for about 3 weeks) and I am just below 190 (189.9) as of this morning. I am sure it will bounce back and forth a bit, but this is a good trend. My goal is 185 by the Marine Corps Marathon in October. It's lookin' pretty good so far. I have lost over 15 pounds since the end of May.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hey Everyone: quick drive by post.

I did 12.16 miles today in 1:52 for 9:12 mpm pace. I felt really strong and relaxed today. Have great runs everyone.

Colleen - Nice job getting in 8. Wow, they start school early in your neck of the woods. Sorry about the poor Canada performance.

Jodi - Somebody called me mary once.....once. :lmao: We have DD8, DS10 and DW all heading out to San Diego on Monday. We head for DL on Thursday morning and meet up with SiL and BiL (DW's sister) who are both going to run the 1/2 (first 1/2 for each).

Chester - Glad you escaped the storm. See you next week!

Dave - Nice jobs on the speedy runs.

Mike - Man, you have really cranked it up. Save some of that speed for the PDR.

Sara - I'm sure I'll have plenty of good photos from DL to share at the PDR.

Hi Cindy, Mike, Steve.

Got in 8 miles in taper mode today. I had to taper, even if I didn't want to, because my left knee is not right (no pun intended). The outside is real sore, almost as if I tweaked a tendon. I figure I will take it real easy next week and see how I feel at DL. Once the race starts I should be fine. Worst case I will pop a few Tylenols when I limp over to the start.

Should be able to check in next week with my NEW iPhone!

Have a nice week.

Lou

Hey Everyone: OK, I finally have a chance to catch up with everyone before the Olympic Closing Ceremonies start.

Lou- I hope your knee is alright. Now is this the same injury that you had before, or is this a new one? Have a great time at Disneyland, and yes, definitely check in with that iPhone.

Cindy- Are you back yet? How was your time at the world? Were you able to stay dry? My brother-in-law got there the day Fay hit, and he was telling us how much rain they were having. I hope you were able to have fun.

Howard- How'd your 10 miler go? I'm really impressed with your workouts, and you are getting really fast too. You are consistently under a 9 mpm pace. Way to go. Tell Cam I said hello.

Colleen- Good to hear from you. Good luck with the start of school, and good luck with your walking.

Chester- Glad the storm missed you. Are you going to Disneyland too? See you at Expedition Everest next month.

DoDo-Bolt- How'd the fuel belt work out? Did you get your bottles filled with your Windex? You'd be all set to become a squeegie WO-man in NYC. Hope the running's going well.

Mike- Are you back yet? You must have gone to the night shift after your vacation. Where have you been man?

Sara- Congrats on getting your hotel reservation for the WDW marathon. Are you planning on doing the full or the half. How'd your running go this weekend? Was it hot over there for you guys too?

OK, to anyone I missed, I apologize. Hope you all are doing well.

Dave: I'll tell Cam you said hello. My 12 miles today didn't go as good as yours, but not too far off.

Here are the results of my LR today. I ran this one at a slower pace so I could go the distance. I wasn't really worried about pace today (for a change). I originally had 12 on my plan so instead of 10 I ended up running 12. In hind sight, maybe I should have done 10. :headache:

Miles: 12.0
Time: 2:03:50
Pace: 10:19

Splits:
9:01
9:16
9:42
9:11
9:18
10:32
10:19
11:59
13:01
9:11
11:04
10:31

I ran a different route today which crossed a lot of roads and intersections. At the 4 to 5 mile area, I ran through a wooded area I have spoken of before (The Northern Delaware Greenway) that is rather hilly and unforgiving. I ended up walking up many of the steepest slopes, thus the slower paced miles. I got out around 9:45 am in 73 degree heat and 81% humidity. It was in the high 80's soon after my run began. It was a scorcher on the pavement with little or no shade to help me. This was my second longest run since school ended at the end of May. My longest was 12.6.

This week alone I ran:

Monday: 5.04
Tuesday: 6.03
Wednesday: 5.04
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 7.03
Saturday: 6
Sunday: 12
Weekly total: 41.14 miles.

I am donating blood tomorrow so I will be taking a day or two off. I think I deserve it.

Have a great week!

Yes, it's actually the same knee I injured last year running in a 10K a few weeks before the Philly marathon. It actually feels better today. I wore a knee brace all day and iced it down a few times. I'll be fine.

Well, I am locked and loaded and ready to head to the west coast. I'll try to check in a few times next week. I'll be back wearing 2 medals. Have a great week everyone!

Lou

Lou - Travel safe and have a magical time:yay: !

Dave - It was H-O-T here too the entire weekend. Too hot to get a good LR in for me:scared: . I can do heat to a point, but the blazing sun is a deal breaker and I end up running with goosebumps and shivering. Not good:sad2: I don't think I am running at WDW '09 - just volunteering:laughing: . I MAY run the full but I really don't feel the need to right at this point:confused3 .

Howard - You rock:worship: and please do take a few days off - you definitely deserve it! Nice job on the continuing weight loss as well:banana: .

Cindy & Mike - Anyone back to reality yetpopcorn:: ? Patiently awaiting details:rolleyes1 ?

Colleen - Congrats to your fellow Countrymen in their medal count:cool1: .

Jodi - How's the fuel belt treating you? The ketchup bottles really are a classic:thumbsup2

Have a great week guys:grouphug:

Good Morning Team,

Ah, it is Monday morning, kids off the school (first day), yoga session complete and a cup of coffee in my hand :surfweb: , doing what I do best!

Lou, have fun on the coast. When you get back we can get the MCM bib transfer underway. PM me and we can figure out the details.

Jodi, so you have new fuel belt, eh?:rolleyes1 Did you not carry water before? So would you do the NYC half marathon again?

Dave, this is kind of late, but WOW, did your family ever burn up WDW!:thumbsup2 You did SO much! I promised DH would would take at least a year break from Disney, so I am trying to plan a cruise for next Christmas, but he prices are outrageous.

Howard, wow, 41 miles a week. I was happy to get that in my longest week of marathon training. Stay healthy my friend!

Sara, funny it was warmer up in your neck of the woods this weekend. It is finally starting to cool off here a bit. Sunday afternoon, the kids and I went out to test out some boomerangs we found at the dollar store. Ah, good fun for a buck!:thumbsup2

SoggySocksLink, have you dried out yet?

Hey Steve and Bill!

Mike, helllloooo, are you out there????popcorn:: Dodo didn't scare you away, did she?

Hey Botties

OH man, have I had a heinous week. Real quick - I'm wondering about this schedule I got off Runner's World. The speedwork is killin' me. I could barely run the 9 miles on Sat., I had to stop 3 TIMES just to walk b/c my legs felt so heavy :confused3 , I'm so out of shape, what gives? I'm ok for the first 3 - 4 miles then forget it! I can't even blame the weather 'cause it was nice Sat. a.m. I'll stick this plan out for Philly, I guess, & see how it does me, but it just seems like I'm sacrificing weekly mileage for speed (of which I have none :rotfl: ).

Hey Canada! - Nice to have the house "to yourself" again for a few hours a day, eh? I carried water b4, but only in my bladder:sad2: ...don't you remember my ketchup bottles?:lmao: NYC 1/2 again?? You betcha! I can't wait!

LOUser :rolleyes1 Have fun on the coast, I'm sure you're gone by now, but you'll read this sooner or later! Can't wait to see the medal!

Chester the.... - You too, have a blast out west. Hope you were able to stay dry as some of FL is a mess!

Sara - Glad you didn't go out in the HEAT - I get the shivers, too. Guess that's called dehydration :rotfl2: . My fuelbelt is cool, but too big. We have to go exchange it for the next size down as it spins around incessantly while I'm running

Howard - Keep runnin' dude, you're an inspiration. Nice job on the weight loss, too :thumbsup2 !!

Davey - :yay: Can't wait for the Yeti! You know, I never thought of that, xtra $ being a squeegie chick in NYC, good idea! What's on tap for you this week. BTW, are you going to Philly or what??????

Mike & Cindy - OK, now we know you're back but just ignoring us :snooty: .

Gotta run, had to come home early from work to take my dog to the dermatologist....i know, i know, can't wait to see how much this initial visit costs. I wouldn't mind, but she's a $5 dog from the pound :headache: .

I'm back!

We landed last night at 10:45 PM at BWI and didn't get home until after 1 - BWI is terrible with getting luggage late at night.

We had a great time! The rain was annoying to deal with, but it could have been a lot worse.

Still trying to catch up at work - I'll try to catch up here later.

I'm back!

Welcome Home Cindy! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Jodi, wow, if you needed to stop three times in the run. It's OK. You are getting stronger...building up those glycogen stores...run like the wind... chalk it up to a bad weekend... next week will be better. (Thought I better shower you with some praise because I want to see you at Philly!)

By the way, heel is feeling much better. I think it was the new sandals I purchased in Canada. I walked too much in them and they don't give me the support I need. I am back to my tried and true Merrells.

Colleen - AS IF...:lmao: I'm not getting stronger at all, just weaker by the week. Oh well. Glad your heel's better. See what happens when you wear stuff from Canada :rolleyes1 . Did you sign up for Philly yet?

Cindy - :yay: Welcome home! I'm so glad your trip wasn't as bad as I had imagined it to be! Can't wait for a report!popcorn::

BTW, $268 later & my dog is still itching :rotfl: . Apparently we need to start by switching her food. Instead of buying her venison or buffalo meat dog food (puh-lease) I told them I'd make the "home recipe" alternative. Pinto beans & potatoes. Yep, my poor pup can't eat anything but that for 2 months!!:sad2:

Cindy Welcome home:yay: Glad you had a great time and can't wait for the trip detailspopcorn:: .

Colleen - Congrats on the new found alone time :cloud9: . Glad the heel's feeling better now that you're back to the tried and true. I have sandals that aggrivate my PF and I always seem to forget it until I feel the pain:headache: .

Jodi - Doggie dermatologist:rolleyes1 . Sorry your high maintenance pound puppy has a serious case of itch and if the pinto beans and potatoes don't do the trick, hunting season is right around the corner:thumbsup2 . I'm sure you can score a few deer to keep your pooch in venison for a while:laughing: . Sorry the weekend LR was rough:hug: .

McPhilly fellas - :wave2:

5 miles for me yesterday with some biking to boot. I'll do another 4 or so this morning:banana: . I got my PDR confirmation card and race number yesterday so I have a little added inspiration to get out there:cheer2: .

Good Morning Team: Yesterday was my speedwork day. I did 6x 800 on the track. It was a gorgeous day, 70 degrees, sunny and clear. Felt really good with my run.

Sara- Great job with your 5 miler. You're doing fantastic out there. How are your legs feeling?

Jodi- uuugh, $268 for the doggie dermatologist? That hurts, especially if the puppy's still itching. Sorry your 9 miler was so tough. Maybe your speedwork is too fast, and not giving you enough time to recover? :confused3 As far as Philly goes, no, I haven't signed up yet. I should know in a couple days though whether I'm running it.

Colleen- Glad your heel is feeling better. The yoga and coffee sounds great. We had a great time on our Disney trip. It was the longest vacation we've ever had, and we had sooo much fun. I think we're going to take a break from Disney next year too. I'm looking to see if we can go to Williamsburg, VA for our summer vacation next year. It might be a little cheaper since we don't have to fly. My DD10 princess: loves all the history and old fashioned stuff. So I think she, in particular, would be really into it.

Cindy- Welcome back! I can't wait to hear about your trip. popcorn:: My brother-in-law is at WDW now, and I'm really curious how the rain was. Were you able to get any running in, or were you planning on just taking a running break (that's what I did on my trip)?

Lou- Travel safely to California. Can't wait to hear about the DL half.

Howard- Wow, 40+ miles for the week. That is really impressive. WTG! :thumbsup2

Hey Philly Bots!

Nothing to report, just figured I'd stop in & say "hey".

I'm diggin' the cool weather!

No run today, just 3 miles yesterday a.m.

Bruce also got me this "weapon" for my birthday that I can clip on my shorts when I run early a.m.:rotfl:  Well, it's like a thing w/ a trigger that shoots out 2 streams of stuff that'll make you hurt - pepper liquid or something. I keep trying to tell him that if someone did bother me, as soon as I opened my mouth they'd hi-tail it outta there (I mean really)....I can't wait to use it :yay:  :rolleyes1 popcorn:: . No, really!

You guys think I should bring it to Philly? Or better yet, the Yeti 5k?

Nice job on the speedwork, Dave. You too, with the 5 miles AND biking, wench.

Hey Bud!! Are you going to the Yeti solo??? Or is the wife coming along?
Dana's coming along. She's coming down on Thursday evening, and we're having an adult weekend. We're going to snack around the food and wine festival Friday night for dinner, and then I'll do the Yeti on Saturday. I can't wait. The convention I'm going to is at the Contemporary, but they had to give us a split stay. So we'll be at the Contemporary a couple of nights and then they move us to the Yacht Club. Works for me - even closer to the Food and Wine festival. :thumbsup2

How are you doing? Your posts have seemed a little down lately. Everything OK? Are you running tonight?

Hi everyone! I donated blood yesterday so I took yesterday and today off. I feel like a slug, a slug that helped some cancer patients and people with blood clotting issues that is.

I get back on the wagon tomorrow after work. I am looking forward to it.

Keep up the great work in preparation of our upcoming events.
