ORIGINAL POST:My DH and I just booked a SURPRISE all-expense-paid trip to WDW for my daughter, her husband, their two kids, my son & his girlfriend and our younger son.
My DH & I are going, too!
Now we need a creative way to announce the surprise!
A little info: We will be going the last week in August for 6 days/5 nights. Booked 3 rooms at POP.
Everyone will have the park hopper, "water park fun & more" option, and the dining plan. Airfare, too.
The ages of the ones to be surprised are: 2, 5, 9, 18, 20, 25 & 28...
most of whom have never been to Disney!
You could always use little pictures or little stickers in the fortune cookies for your 4 yo! Hey, even the 7 yo would probably like that, too! I might do a combo of words and pictures. Like an airplane as a clue since we are flying down.cfrith said:I might do this when we surprise our dd's 4 and 7. Only the 7 yo would be able to read it though. How do you make homemade fortune cookies?
Ohhh! That is wonderful, Michelle! How exciting that will be!bigsis1970 said:Cool ideas -- I am doing a Easter egg hunt with the puzzle peices hidden in the eggs for my kids surprise!!! I bought just the plain white puzzle at the craft store and will decorate it somehow so when they put it together they will see we are heading to Disney the next day for April Vacation week!!! Michelle
what a great idea! thank you!bigsis1970 said:Ok how many cookies are you having made??
You could do 5,4,3,2,1 thing My puzzle is going to say this :
5 hours on a plane
4 parks
3 suitcases
2 excited kids!
1 World
Or you could do a bunch of messages and the last one saying something like -- The look on your faces when you found out we are taking you all Disney -- Priceless
Just today, a coworker came up with the "lucky number" idea for us, too! Thanks to you and my coworker, we will definitely be using this idea for, at least, one of the cookies!SanDiegoDayTripper said:OK, I'm obsessed, I've been thinking about this all day ...
You know how fortune cookies have "Lucky Numbers?" How about things like dates of significant Disney milestones? Or your flight number? Or the phone number of the hotel? When everyone starts talking about the weird numbers they have, just say nonchalantly, "Oh, 248? That's funny, I just booked a flight with that number" "(800) XXX-XXXX, oh, I just called that number to confirm a hotel reservation" "1955, huh, that's the year Disneyland opened"
"08/02/06? oh, that's the date we're leaving..." "FOR DISNEYWORLD!"
OK, can you tell I love the drama of a surprise!!![]()
carolfoy said:Ok heres my suggestion, place two words or more in each cookie so that everyone has two words that are totally random, they then have to make a sentence out of them, i.e.
we're
may 12
to
on
going
and
we're
disney
hotel
staying
in a
disney
so when they're done they get 'we're going to disney on may 12th and we're staying in a disney hotel'
or words to that effect
