Is it always in French (it's a few years since I've been now)...
I always found with Tower of Terror that having the English narration seemed to just add that little something for me, so it's a shame that they can't alternate the language (or have 1 english and 1 french lift if they have 2 - again my memory fails me as to how many lifts there are) to include as many people as possible.
I think that PM will be the ride that really suffers for us now having ridden HM so many times since our last DLRP visit. As the narration throughout the entire ride on HM is what makes it for us.
Don't get me wrong we'll still love it. But we'll be quoting HM and nobody will be talking.
Was it always just a rumour that ToT had an English and French version? As we've only ever had French even back in 2008/2009.
They tend to see which language is in the majority as my OH has had it in English and in French - mostly in French though depends on the time of year and the CM
I recently read the story behind the theme of Phantom Manor and even though I don't speak French, I think it makes much more sense now that I know what it's about
I also think that because I don't know exactly what's being said it's even scarier

Worth listening to the English narration, it does help make sense of the story, although as I watch I'm saying the french narration in my head.
"Notre visite commence ici.................................."
It was originally recorded in English with Vincent Price, but was soon rerecorded in French with Gerard Chevalier, which is the version we have now, they did however keep Vincent Price's laugh !
I'd forgotten that you walk past the 'metamorphasis' paintings in the DLRP version. Nice they have a similar narration but change it for the story.
It's funny, Vincent's voice, although more quiet than the original "ghost host" is actually I bit creepier I think! I think it's his quietness that makes him scary!
Oooh I'm excited for PM now! It's definitely scarier than HM! Although the story isn't quite so menacing.
Here's the American audio in case you've not heard it before so you can compare.
It's the full cut so longer than you hear in WDW. As it loops a few different ways of saying the same thing so you don hear a repeat when you'rethere I think.
I saw Mr Ravenswood mentioning his site on another forum and read it a few weeks ago - it is really intricate which makes it all the more interesting! Such a fab story .
I would love to take DH on PM this trip (he hasn't been on before) but as we are on our own with the girls there is no way. My DD1 would love to have a go on it but we'd literally never get her to sleep at night if we did - she is terrible with anything remotely scarey like that sadly. She has a very active imagination and suffers from night terrors as a result . DD2 meanwhile would probably laugh all the way around ....
So, we'll have to keep it for our November trip when we have babysitters with us
I had read that people are trying to bring Vincent Price back....?
PS - I'm sure we heard most of the ToT intro in English - I recall the CM asking who was English and a show of hands meant we were in the majority. I have to say, the CMs in there make that attraction - they are first class!
