Thank you all here. I have crocs now for my Pf and I'm loving them -----although they're not pretty,,, :(

What other shoes work for you? Threw away all flip flops as I'm told (here also) they're a huge NO.

thanks all.

I wore crocs exclusively for the first year after my PF issues started. Now its 2 years out and I can wear other shoes with padding inside. I prefer crocs though and wear them to work. I need some new Mickey tan cloth Crocs but I can't find any

PF is an awful thing to deal with...my mom lives with it and she wears special orthodic shoes...they look normal, so she wears them to work. Since she works at a hospital, she's not allowed to wear crocs, due to safety reasons, but I think she likes the ones she has better anyway. I'm glad you've found something that works for you, though! ^^

I've had PF for a year and a half. In the winter I have my custom orthotics which hAve helped tremendously! In the warm weather I have my Orthaheel sandals & flip flops. Love them! I even got the Orthaheel slippers in December and they've been the greatest thing ever! Highly recommend the brand!!!

Have you tried Feetures? My friend just told me about this and so far in the morning (after wearing it to bed), I haven't had the same pain in my heel when I get up in the morning. She also suggested wearing shoes (like slippers) as soon as I get up. Day 2 and already feels better!

I love my Orthaheel flip flops and wear them in the house all the time. They are not as "cushy" as Crocs, but they have better support for my high arches.

I also recently ordered a pair of Superfeet inserts to put in my gym shoes. I thought I'd try one more thing before asking my doc about expensive custom orthotics. I can't believe what a difference they have made! Not only is my PF heel pain gone, but I have less ankle, knee, and back pain as well. In fact, I didn't realize how much those things hurt until they STOPPED hurting. I just thought it went along with nearing 40. :rotfl2:

We just got back from a week at Disney, and I was really worried about spending that much time on my feet day after day. Sure, my feet were tired, but with the Superfeet inserts, I had none of the terrible pain I'd suffered for MONTHS.

Here's another vote for Orthaheel. They make decent-looking flip flops, sandals, dress shoes, athletic shoes and casual shoes. I always order mine from Zappos as they have a large selection.

I have not had a flair up of my plantar fasciitis since I started wearing them two years ago.

I have bad feet....PF and heel spurs. OUCH! Years of being a nurse and pounding those concrete floors. When weather allows, I wear Birkenstocks. My Mom got me a pair of orthaheel slippers for Christmas and I live in them. As soon as I get home, I put them on. I'm probably going to buy some orthoheel shoes in the future. I've seen them on QVC and now a local shoe store in my area are selling them. Another good shoe, Alegria. They first started out as a "working" shoe but people like me, nurses, liked them so much they now make "fashion shoes." I like them a lot, though they are not cheap. It's the only shoe my hairdresser will wear. Again, QVC.

I actually think some of the crocs are sort of cute. I have the Malindi style and plan to wear them next trip to WDW.

ORTHaheels look VERY CUTE. butttt............. I thought FLIP FLOPS were a big NOOO for pf. ???

Regular flip flops are. Orthaheels are built with an arch in them. . I wore he Tide flip flop all last summer plus on our Disney trip!

I really find that shoes and shoe comfort is so very subjective person to person. Even more so when struggling with issues such as pf. If you already know you like the crocs and find them comfortable try one of the new styles. There used to only be the one option, but now they are coming out with some very cute styles. I personally don't find them to be very comfortable over the long term, like if I wore them for 12 hours in the parks. Just make sure whichever ones you bring that you break them in first (although you don't really need to break in crocs):cool1:
As far as what works for me. I like super light hiking runner type shoes like at REI. Or Nike free or any super lightweight sneakers.

regular, FLAT flip-flops are terrible for PF, but the Orthaheels are great for it. I ordered mine from qvc and have been breaking them in/getting used to them for our trip in 2 weeks. Last year I only wore cheapo flip flops at Disney and that's what started my foot troubles!!

I've been wearing Birkenstocks for years and been pain-free. Got my first pair of Crocs last year and enjoy them. I actually got a pair of Disney Birkenstocks last Fall and I can't wait to wear them in WDW in June!

I can occasionally wear other shoes for short periods of time, but if I push it or go too long, the old pain comes back.
