I thought I saw somewhere on a messageboard that there is a petting zoo and a poney ride at fort wilderness. If so do you think my 22 month can go on a poney ride if I walked with her?

Also any information if there is a petting zoo, on what kind of animals and where exactly its located.

Yes right next to pioneer hall in fort wilderness ther is a petting zoo and pony rides. You walk the pony yourself around the grounds of the petting zoo. My daughter rode last January when she was 25 months old and loved it. I walked the pony "cricket" around very slowly so the ride was about 8 mins or so. She asks me still can we ride cricket again next time. We'll be there next weekend for a quick trip so I'll be sure to take her again. I think it was $4 per ride.

We didnt do the pony rides when we were there last week, but we did take a bike ride from WL to Fort Wilderness and saw the petting zoo.
It was mostly goats, pigs, a mule and some chickens.
There were also peacocks walking around.

Yes, you can take your little one on the pony ride at the petting zoo at Ft. Wilderness. We had our little girl ride the pony at just over a year old and she loved it! One of us walked the pony while the other held the baby steady. She had a great time. I believe it is $4.00 per ride now.

We have taken our little guy on the pony ride twice, in June of '02 and earlier this month. Both times they asked to make sure he was at least two. I wouldn't want to see any little ones disappointed if they weren't old enough. Might want to double-check ahead of time.

We just returned and never miss the petting zoo. The pony rides are $3 each and my daughter who is 7 was told, "after next year, you'll be too old to ride." You walk the ponies yourself around a little enclosed trail. It's just great. ***It began to rain after my son's ride and they closed down the pony rides so my daughter didn't get to ride. If it's raining and you have your heart set on the ponies, wait for sun. You can buy food pellets for the other animals and the whole thing is very cute. It takes no more than 40 min. to cover the zoo. Have fun! Threehearts

The Petting Farm is lots of fun for kids.

I want to thank everyone who posted. This will help me out a lot.

Now here is a bit of a question, would it be wrong of us to tell the CMs that our daughter is 2 even though she isnt? I mean we could round up couldnt we?
