Pet Loop, check.
Kennel during the day, check.

Getting the dog to the kennel? We don't have a toad or rent a golfcart. Would talking our small dog (a senior Shih Tzu) on the bus (on our lap) to the kennel be considered a no-no? Walking too?

I suspect yes, but what else could we do? Hate to have to unhook the motorhome for such a short drive.

Carrying him on the bus would be a definite no-no, but I don't see a problem with carrying the dog to the kennel in a carrier would be a problem.

Some of the pet loops are quite a hike (especially carrying a dog in a crate)--I'd call the front desk or the kennel and ask. I asked at the checkin gate one time, and they just seemed confused about it. It was our first time to camp with the dog and I didn't know how he'd do. We were renting a golf cart but didn't have a toad, either. Thankfully he did fine and we've never needed the kennel.

Thanks, hadn't thought of bringing a carrier/crate. Sounds like that would do the trick. If we do bring the dog, I'll be sure to mentoin it to the staff, they may already have some plan in place, if not, I'll suggest that they do.
