Did anyone else see the one hour investigation about petland selling puppies that come from puppy mills? It was so sad

I didnt see or hear about that! I have to have a look now. My neighbor is high up with Petland. That would not be a good thing!

I think Petland here closed.

Petland had a reputation for sick pups and I'm guessing , if this is true, this would be why.

Petland has been under fire for years because of this. It is nothing new with them. Don't even get me started on puppy mills It disgusts me the way these furbabies are treated.

I know I very active with our animal organizations but it is still sad to see. I am glad that is out there for everyone to see reality.

National Geographic and Animal Planet do these expos every now and then Even Cesar Millan showed puppy mill investigations...unfortunately people still don't get the message and it continues ......

I hope I didn't come off as snarky. After learning about puppy mills, I just suspect every pet selling store. Why do people need to sell pets in stores when there are so many shelters needing to euthanize perfectly good pets? And many of them get in newborn pups & kittens, too. People should just be forced to go to shelters or reputable breeders.

I just think when someone creates a wall or room in a pet store with a wall of cages that have to be filled with cute, new puppies every week, it creates the need and temptation to fill those empty cages with animals from puppy mills. It's basic supply & demand. When people uprise and stop buying animals from these places, which is a portion of their profits, that will help close down the puppy mills.

agree with eveything so far but knowing the boards this is always a HOT topic...its gonna get bad in here just wait people swear their puppy never came from any place bad...guaranteed

Unfortunately, I don't think puppy mills will ever be put out of business until there are strict laws about that type of thing....and it's not something that lawmakers feel is a pressing issue.

I agree there pet store shouldn't be selling puppies and I refuse to buy anything from store that do. This month finally the court let the case of petland go thru after dismissing it many times (Arizona). They have so much evidence linking them to puppy mills and over 100 cases of sick puppies I don't think they are getting out of this one.
I have notice changes in the past few years slowly but surely.
