As you may have heard, the Canada pavillion at Epcot has stopped selling BeaverTails pastries due to poor sales. At one time, BeaverTails were immensely popular at Disney but interest has declined since they changed to a "reheated" product in 2000 and began closing the booth during the day after 9/11.

My husband has created an online petition to encourage Disney to re-establish the sale of BeaverTails and I hope that anyone who has ever tried (or hoped to try) one of these delicious and unique treats will sign it. I believe that we can make a difference and change the mind of the managers at the Canada pavillion.

I know there are many BeaverTails fans  on this board and I hope that you'll come out of the wordwork to support our cause. I encourage you to include comments when you sign so that Disney can see the interest that there is in this product.

Don't worry -- You can elect to hide your email address so that it is not displayed publicly.

OMG :earseek: I had no idea the Beavertails were gone...my DS Erich will be crushed!

Myself and my family will be signing your petition....lets hope it works!!!

C'mon Beavertail lovers, let's let Disney know we want this sweet treat back!!

Unfortunately, it's not so much poor sales as it is problems with the distributer. :(

I hear they are replacing the Beaver Tail kiosk with Tim Hortons.

I signed!!! Althought I love Timmies I would prefer Canada having beaver tail then a brand name item like Timmie coffee or donuts.

No wonder I could never find them! I never had a chance to try them, so I always look as we pass by the Canadian Pavillion.

If you miss the Beavertails of old, please let the people who can do something about it know:

wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

For those of you who have tried them, I can imagine it would be like if they stopped selling Dole Whip for me!

Please write, so those of us who haven't tried them, and those who miss them (remember to include you miss the "pre 2000" variety) will have an opportunity to once again enjoy them!

That's what they told us last time we were there, it was something to do with the distributor. They were selling the pretzel bread from Le Cellier instead.

We always wondered...are beaver tails something Canadians really eat?

Petition signed. I really wish that this would help, but the skeptic in me says the only way that I am going to get a beavertail again is by going to Canada. Good luck. Maggie

My husband spoke with the distributor and it has nothing to do with them. They would like to resume their relationship with Disney. I've spoken with people that have worked there in the past few years and they feel it is due to declining sales.

I highly doubt that Tim's will appear at the pavillion for two major reasons - their long standing coffee contract with NesCafe (I think that's the coffee company) and their long standing relationship with McDonalds. Remember, Tim Hortons is owned by Wendy's.

I will be bringing this petition to the attention of the food and beverage management team at the Canada pavillion tomorrow. Although writing guest communications will help as well, this petition is a quick way to get the attention of the F&B management and let them see lots of opinions at one time.

:sad2: Signing now,Always stop by for a beaver tail and a song.

We love beaver tails and hope they are back on our next trip.

I've never had a BeaverTail :sad2:

I'm signing the petition..cuz I wanna try one someday :D

I hope for the sake of all of you BeaverTail lovers, that Disney hears your complaints and brings them back!

We really missed BeaverTails this year!! Let's hope they listen or work out their supplier problems and bring them back - remind them that with the opening of Soaring, the traffic in that area will be high over the next few years!!

Has anyone tried the Pretzel bread.... SO GOOD!!!!!!! Yum!

Hope that the F&B people sit up and take notice~!

While I am posting, I have a funny story about the "so loved" NesCafe Coffee. A guest came in and asked where he could buy that WONDERFUL coffee that is served at breakfast at one of the WDW resort hotels at breakfast. Thinking that is must be a special pressed pot coffee, we called to get the name for him. Turns out, what he LOVED so much was NesCafe. We gave him the directions to Goodings and he was SO thankful. Sometimes you just never know!:confused3

I missed beaver tail on my trip in December. I am not too worried though because there is one about 20 minutes away though it is only open in the summer. So yes we do eat beavertail but Tim Hortons is a lot more popular.
