I must have been lucky, I can't say I've ever encountered someone climbing over the fencing.

Cutting in line however... I see a lot of.

When we were there we were really surprised at the amount of people that climbed over the fences to just sit, have a meal, nap, and watch Dreams. It was pretty strange to see.

the whole place looks worn-out and run-down to me, people walking on the grass and flowerbeds won't change the optics...

For a good picture spot or a better view, some visitors forget everything about behaviour and manners.

I've wanted to do DLP for ages now and always been put off by things like this, things that you just don't seem to get in the US parks for some reason and it's so sad. DLP would be so much more convenient if it was up to scratch

alot of the issues are cultural and social, the smoking especially. There is a completely different attitude to smoking in Europe compare to American and thats why the non smoking rules are not enforced. The French and European managers at DLP have no interest in making sure the CM's enforce this rule. When the management don't care, why should the CM's in the park at the rides and attractions care.

The same with the rude behaviour of guests. What is deemed rude or inappropriate to an American may be acceptable to a French or German or Italian. A French or German or Italian might see nothing wrong with going onto the grass, behind a fence but an American might never do this in Florida or California.

The general appearance, lack of maintenance, run down air is all down to money. DLP is only partly owned by Disney, where as California and Florida are wholly own by Disney. For example in California and Florida there is a custodial department, CM's whose sole job is to empty trash bins, sweep the ground and keep the ride and attraction queue areas trash free. This department does not exist at DLP. It is the CM's who operate the rides and attractions who have to sweep the ground, empty the trash bins at their ride and keep their queue areas trash free. That's why there is so much trash around DLP as the CM's don't have the time to operate the ride, load and unload guests AND empty the bins, pick up trash etc

Don't believe the hype!

I've just enjoyed reading this trip report and the park looks fantastic in the photos: http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...rip-report-august-2015.3443687/#post-54352952
Give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised (I know I was!) pixiedust:

I agree with OP and think some guest behaviour is unacceptable such as the photo shown, standing in the flowerbeds is not on and the CM's should be absolutely strict about this. There are fences for a reason!!

I totally agree with this. I can't say that I've noticed that DLP is looking 'run down'. In fact, I don't think I've ever been and not seen something or other being painted. As with all high volume attractions there will always improvements that can be made, however for a park that sees every season from ice cold (literally) to torrential rain and blistering heat, I think they do a pretty good job of upkeep generally.

If only we could control the people that visit and make the mess.......
