Another LOL review by Pete....and I have to say I couldn't agree more about SeaWorld's food being CRAP!! We went in 2007 and had a very nice counter service meal at Woodfire's Grill (I believe that's what it was called). I had a salad of chicken tossed in a creamy dressing that was served over crisp lettace with fresh croutons. Served on the side was a fresh croissant.

Fast forward to a year and a few months later and the same salad now looked like something you would get a fast-food drive-thru. Crap lettace, crap croutons, dressing in a packet, and no croissant.

The only decent food I had last time at SeaWorld was an ice cream cone!

Woodfire Grill is the only place I eat at Sea World...but I'm always happy with what I get there. Haven't been there since November, so maybe it's slid way downhill, but it was still fine then.

They aren't in the restaurant business - they're in the Marine Theme Park business. You get what you get.

Plenty of other places to eat. :)

I see on Pete's FaceBook page this morning that they went to Yachtsman Steak House last night and his one word review was "superb". Perhaps on next week's show he will tell us a bit more about how his experience differed.

BTW, Val & I love YSH so I'm not at all surprised that Pete had a great experience there.

If you put restaurants in your theme park, then...Viola! :wizard: You are in the restaurant business. :)

I understand what you are saying and I never expect much out of theme park food, but I do expect something decent, especially in a sit down restaurant.

For what they are charging-they're in the restaruant business. $25 for a meal means that it should be edible.

I've never had food I couldn't eat. I especially like the salad at Woodfire Grill. The cake isn't unyummy, either.

Sea World's food is fine, IMO. I'm not there to have a superlative dining experience. I'm there to see pink flamingos, penguins, dolphins and Shamu.

I haven't heard Pete's review, though.

I really think that if people want excellent food they should look further than the theme park restaurant. If you luck into good food, yea! But if you're looking for a super-duper meal, leave the park.

That's just my opinion. I do see and understand the other side of that. But that's my take. :o

I want to thank both Pete and Kevin for their dining insight. Although I have been to some of the restaurants they review and have not found the same things, I am happy to have insight about the restaurant.

They give me an idea of what to watch out for. I am informed of what I may walk into.

I'm thankful to both of them because when they review a place, they keep in mind that dining out can be a significant expense for many of us and the reviews help us get the best value for our money!

The only down side is that Kevin gave up one of my best Disney secrets: Narcosee's!! Our family LOVES this place and we wanted it to be a secret so it doesn't become as hard to get into as Le Cellier! :lmao:

After hearing that you like Bahama Breeze, I don't think I can take any more reviews seriously. They serve microwaved fish and pretend they have a smoker in back for ribs when they don't. Typical crap Darden fare.

While Sharks is overpriced for what you get, it's not nearly as bad as you made out.

I believe you, but is it really possible to mess up a crouton?;)

The first time we ate there, the croutons were large and fresh...the second time, they were stale little crumbles. No, croutons aren't a big deal...but I was just contributing my opinion on the dining...what was once great now isn't.

I think the main point is not whether or not amusement park food is good or not, but that SeaWorld once had GREAT, award winning food....and now it's drastically different. For those of us there on vacation without a rental car (we always take a taxi to places off Disney), leaving the park to eat isn't an option. We're not asking for gourmet, but fairly decent would be nice.
