Pete's recommendation for NYC hotel?

Does anyone recall the name of the hotel Pete mentioned was a great one in NYC? I think it came up in last week's podcast or the week before. Wasn't sure where to post this question, so apologies in advance if it gets moved to another spot.

Thanks in advance for your help; Porter Airlines here in Canada is offering 50% flights from Toronto to NYC between now and middle of December; can't beat flying out of here for $64!

I just listened to that one a few days ago... he mentioned it on the Alaska cruise episode of all places... It was the Wellington, on 7th Ave.

we just stayed in NYC 2 weeks ago - at The Pearl Hotel - right across the street from where the book of mormon is playing..

the pearl hotel is a new boutique hotel on a quiet street in the times square area - on trip advisor it's ranked 17 out of 431 hotels in new york..

the wellington is ranked 272 out of 431.

however, it's possible the pearl has gone way up in price since i booked it several months ago (when it had just opened)...we got it at a very reasonable rate, but maybe it's gone up since then...
but if you can get it at a good rate, i highly recommend the hotel and the location assuming you're planning on seeing something on broadway...

if you're not planning on broadway, then i'd stay on the east or upper east side...
i hate the times square area....to me, it's everything that's bad about new york....
