Hey y'all...just got back from 3 days of trade shows, so finally getting a chance to check in...

Marylynn, Emily and I really enjoyed meeting everyone last Saturday...good to see some long time DIS friends, Hockeymom and DH & DS, Baboo and Len, and a brief stopover by MaMadduck...and some new friends, SnowWhite and "SnowWhite's DH" lol, riu girl and kids, and the caine family of five. It was a PERFECT day weatherwise and a perfect setting (thanks SnowWhite and DH for organizing)

Didn't get to see your pics from last trip MaMadduck...next time. Hope everyone had fun and looking forward to our next meet...with more pics and stories and great advice.

BTW, Em took some pictures and I'll get them on this thread soon.

It was a perfect day for our first DIS meet!!! We really enjoyed meeting everyone and hearing about everyones trips and experiences and seeing everyones pics!! My DH is VERY jealous that "some" of us now own DVC!!! Its too bad some couldn't make it but hopefully next years will be even bigger!! We all will have new pics to bring along!!! Looking forward to seeing the pictures Dave, DH had the camera but...... Thanks to everyone that came and looking forward to next years meet!!

I do love to talk Disney so it was a great day. By the next meet we will have a ton of new pictures to look because almost everyone there has an upcoming trip.

Speaking of DVC I got a beach bag and SSR lithograph in the mail today. Kinda neat.(Oh and a mound of papers to fill out )

It was such a great day. And what a nice opportunity to "put a face to the name".
Hockeymom: thank you so much for picking up DDs Pokemon book and then for taking the time to arrange for me to pick it up. It is her favourite Pokemon book. Thanks also for helping me with my touring plan.
Dave: I have considered your advice about how the WDW restaurants our an important aspect of your WDW vacation experience and are I am now planning extra ADRs!!!
Snowwhite and Rob: thanks for organizing the meet. The location was perfect.
Cainefamilyoffive: It was great not to be the only newbie there. You sound so enthusiastic about your upcoming WDW holiday.
Mamadduck: sorry you couldn't stay long. I didn't get the chance to thank you for the postcard that you sent DD on your last WDW holiday. We have it taped to the back of our WDW photo album.

oh BTW- I need to "unload" my Vistana week for Sat. Oct 15-Oct 22 (anyone????.... hint, hint......SNOWWHITE/DHSW) want to start their vacation earlier and stay longer???????

It's nice to put a face to a name so about every 6 months or so we try to get together and meet who we have been talking to on the dis boards. We usually just talk about our obsession- Disney. We hope to have another one in the spring or so after everyone has gone on their trips and have lots of pictures. It is always posted here a month or so in advance.

If you had just joined a week ago you could have attended our meet last weekend! It was a very educational day!

I am NOT telling Rob about that one Wendy!!! He would have us there in a minute! I would love to but its too late for me to start booking more holidays!

It was great to get to see folks last weekend. I'm sorry that we were so late getting there, but work got in the way!
Wendy, I'm sorry that we didn't get to see you, and rui, I think you had just walked away when we were getting there. I'm sorry not to have gotten to meet you.
Since we're the only ones that don't have a trip planned, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's pics from upcoming trips.

It was very nice to meet everyone and I certainly enjoyed myself. I am looking forward to our next meet sharing all of our pics from our trip. Hopefully all of those that couldn't make it out this time can make it next time. I have been working crazy hours this week and this is my first time to actually sit and read the dis. WENDY, your hint is sooooooo tempting, unfortunately I don't think my students would be happy with me. I am very happy for HockeyMom and Family (hmmm HockeyDad??) Brand New DVC owners.......I am sooo jealous too. Very nice to meet the Cain family of Five, Baboo w/hubby, Riu Girl w/munchkins, and Canadave and family.

Hi Everyone
We had an awesome time wish I had brought a Book too write in so much info to remember. We booked our airfare today and ouch. We leave at 6:20 am out of buffalo ha ha to my teen girls they will have to get out of bed real early.
Can't wait to bring back pics and post them and share with other disney friends

Christine, would you mind telling me what airline you are flying with out of BUF? I can't remember your dates, but wasn't it around the first week of January? I am hoping SWA releases our dates this week. I am really hoping to get airfares booked soon. Our dates are Dec 17 - Dec 31 (DH), and Dec 17-Jan 7 (me, DD and DS). I really want to book SWA due to their good cancelling/rebooking policies.

Well, things have changed for us since the meet! Thanks to Wendy, we're going to take her week at Vistana, so we'll get to have a few pics at the next meet too! We're only planning on 2 days at WDW, but that's better than nothing, and one of them will hopefully be MNSSHP! Woohoo!!!!

Yes, the kids are going too. We only have to take Ginny out of school since Michael isn't going for the first semester. She should only miss 5 or 6 days. We're planning on leaving when she gets off on the Friday and driving staight through, which should put us in just in time for our check in, and then when we check out the next Saturday, we'll leave and drive straight through and get home on Sunday. We usually drive through, and Michael should have his liscence by then, so there'll be 3 drivers.
It's so much fun planning a Disney trip that I've almost forgotten that we leave this weekend for Nova Scotia!
