So glad to finally meet the rest of the fan club! We were recently at a friend's house for a bbq, and one of the other guests asked me which is my favorite ride at WDW? Hers was Space Mountain, I believe, and her family is thrill rides all the way. My response? This 41 year-old could only reply that I can't decide between Peter Pan and Small World. I feel the same as other posters -- it's all about the nostalgia and the magic. I'm instantly a kid again vacationing with my parents. The logical side of me is fully aware of how the imagineers designed the cars to move through London, but the side of me that loves the magic is awed everytime we ride through the scene.
Honestly, one of my favorite places in all of WDW is that special corner in Fantasyland just by the old skyride station, with the entrance to Liberty Square behind you, and SW and PPF to either side. It's just too special.
As a musician, I'm really surprised only one person (sorry if I missed someone) mentioned something that really evokes the magic -- the MUSIC! Everytime I hear "You Can Fly" on a live365.com station or elsewhere, it stops me in my tracks and I instantly feel good.
Then again, Disney knows how to appeal to all of our senses. It's up to you which one is going to be your trigger.
Have a great weekend!
