I think I should preface this with:
I know most people on this board don't listen to punk music - but that's what I grew up on. My mom had always listened to old punk bands (Ramones, Sex Pistols, Misfits, Social Distortion, MDC, X, etc etc.)

ANYWAY, last time I was in MK, I was joking around with Peter Pan when he pointed at my shirt and said "Choking Victim...is that a band?" So I said yes..he then said, "Oh, so what do they sound like? Kind of like Leftover Crack, Rancid, Tiger Army and..." he listed a few more punk bands...and I smiled and said "yeah, something like that." Even though he broke character, that was a huge Magical Moment for me, since some of the bands he mentioned were kind of obscure and just made me feel like I'm not the only one in the park who listens to a certain type of music.

I dunno, I just thought about this story and had to tell...I'll always remember Peter Pan personalizing our meet & greet.

That is so cool!

and I like your mom's taste in music! The very first show (wasn't big enough to call it a concert) I ever went to was X.

Eh, don't ever think you're the only one. I go to DW all the time, both of my parents work there and I'm a lover of psychobilly and rockabilly....my bf is always with me too, actually we're leaving sunday for our first disney cruise and he used to open for GWAR.

LOl - Never would have seen that side of Peter Pan !! :confused3 :rotfl:

Wow, maybe you need to go to DL.

On our first visit there about 5 years ago DH and I decided that punk didn't die, it went to Disneyland!

We couldn't believe the amount of punk kids walking around the park. We spent our days counting Misfits t-shirts.

I'm not too much of a fan of Tiger Army, they're fine on CD but I didn't think much of their show.

U R knot the only Punk who also luvs Dizknee! Been in many a pit and took my gf (now DW) to an Oingo Boingo concert even tho I had had 2 wizdom teeth pulled that day. I do agree that DL has many punks and goths roaming around. I do hope that I find that Pan when I go to DW in Nov.

P.S. On most other boards I am known as BoInGoPHrEaK.

Hey, JRawk, come to think of it, I swear I saw Pete moshing at the Dropkick Murphys show this past March. He's no good at stage diving though, everytime he jumps off, he just keeps flying, kinda misses the whole point. Great show, see 'em if you get the chance.

Hmm... that does seem just a little out of character for someone from Neverland to know so much about punk bands....

But I think it's hillarious. :rotfl2:

hehe, nice to know there are other punks out there!! I think I've seen Dropkick about 35 times (I used to live in Boston).

Did you take a picture with him? If so can you post it? I just worked at Disney and I am "friends" with Peter Pan.

clever..i think his taste in music fits his persona

Brought back memories for me! When I was in high school we had our Grad Night at the Magic Kingdom and the only reason I went was because X was playing. They played in the counter service restraunt where the little alien guy has a show now (forget the name).
