Peter Pan ride

Yep, half the time it is not open, and as we are all doing the UPS shuffle from the rope, we encounter a single CM at the chains, directing us to line up down to the castle, and not enter into the chains, so in addition to our confusion, we are blocking folks from parking strollers. This was always confusing to me on why the chains were never open for us to fill in, but a CM on a disney thread explained the PP is always last mintue opening. the postive side to the confusion is that brand new visitors avoid the confusion and move on to the other attractions.

My kids are 5, 3, and 1, and we just got back from a trip where my parents also met us there. I told them when we were waiting for rope drop the peter pan strategy and that half the people waiting there would also be heading directly to PP so they better move it! They didn't believe me. and then we got there and they did. haha. My husband and I have NEVER understood this phenomenon, because it is 100% not worth the wait to us. My kids like it but they don't like it more than any other ride, and wouldn't ask about it if we didn't do it. Anyway, we only do it if we're there early for MM, or if we're at the front for rope drop on a non-MM day. Bonus is, if you decide not to do PP, you can knock out a bunch of other fantasyland slow-load rides early while people are in line for it :)

I'm sure it's been said, but Peter Pan isn't much different than it was in the 1980s. They've updated a few effects and changed the lighting on the city, but overall, it's the same. I loved it as a child and oldest has had the opportunity to ride as well, but the last 3 or 4 years, it's been especially crowded in the parks, and it seems everyone wants to ride Peter Pan. It's not really worth it to us anymore. Even when we're among the first people there for rope drop, it seems people just run us over and by the time we park our stroller, the line is already over 30 minutes or alternatively, the ride is malfunctioning and won't open on time.

Well, this is worse case scenario...best case is 2-4 minutes. I am positioned right at the rope at the castle--this puts me in line (without running, but speed walking) in the first 20 -30 people. What I find with PP is that more than half the time, it doesn't open on time. That's how it gets to 20 minutes.

Ha ha...that explains the 20 minute wait then.

We jut got back from DLR. PP is totally not worth the wait and I can't understand why everyone is so excited about it. Our 11 & 13 yr old daughters said it was boring.

Doesn't WDW PP have the walking track like at HM? I was surprised that it didn't have that at DL. Seems like it would be quicker that way.

We were prepared to skip PP this trip, but did end up there right at opening of EMH and were about 20th people in line. So, it worked out. And Alice was down anyway.
