Peter Pan Refurb Update!!!

Unfortunately, you might want to check the post above yours

Well..I guess it was a good thing I wasn't planning on telling my daughter...lol

we are going June 3rd to June 7th and were actually thought about changing our plans due to the closing of PPF. My 4 yr old loved this last May in August 08. I was hoping she would be able to go on the ride this trip! So it will be open...why does disney still show it on their website calendar of events page as being closed?

Few updates for you!!!

Lets start with Peter Pan!

The ride is now only down from May 4 – 15 for refurbishment. Not the whole of May like was originally stated.

Also
Fastpass service will not be offered at the following attractions through Thursday, April 30: Autopia, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Grizzly River Run, Mullholand Madness and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. (This being noted for 2 days for people who are going to Dis in the next day or so)

I called to ask about this and didn't get much help. The lady was surprised when I told her. She looked it up in her computer and said it will be down till June 7th but may get done sooner. Not sure if that helps

I am not pointing fingers but I hate when threads like this pop up. People get their hopes up over something that isn't true. I always wait a day or 2 when schedules change to make sure it is for real. As soon as I saw this I checked DL's webpage and sure enough it is closed.

They often open the rides sooner than the "official" date--so I hope that is true for many of you.

We love this ride and are very glad it will be up and running by our travel date.

It is what it is. If its down, its down, if it happens to open early GREAT! But you cant fault someone for getting overly excited.

You were just reporting what mouseplanet said. They don't post incorrect facts usually, do they? I wish it had turned out to be true but I have no regrets that it was posted in the first place. :wizard:

I have to agree with everyone and say the best source is disneyland . com itself but Mouseplanet isnt all that bad either. They are usually pretty decent. It just happened that there was a typo that ended up getting corrected quickly to the correct day.

So what is up with the fastpass machines being down anyway? Last week we wanted some for Autopia, it was a 45 minute wait. So we were pretty disappointed we couldn't get a fastpass.

During weekdays they run a different schedule for fastpasses and for example only Soarin' and Screamin' have FP in the weekdays.

Just checking to see what the status is on Peter Pan. Has anyone noticed any changed in MM or morning crowds? I will be keeping an eye out on the schedule and hoping it comes back early.

Yeah I would like to keep this thread alive for updates.....

Are the tarps still on the facade? Anyone at the parks lately or heard anything about if they are completely re-doing the track or is it a simple paint job? Any chance of a early opening?

Would love to hear from someone who has been in the park lately or talked to a CM.

Fingers crossed.

I was just there last week when the Refurb started and it seemed to me that everyone either went to Toad or Dumbo first as those lines grew fast but MTWR kinda went down a bit after everyone rode it once but everything seemed to get really busy fast to me, probably because everyone wasn't waiting in PPF lines anymore.

Just got back and the tarps and a wall or two is still up around Peter Pan. Only some FP's were open - but I think it depended on the day of the week - we went Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Did everything we wanted on Thursday in DL, everything we wanted on Friday in CA, and Saturday brought the 50+ minute waits at both parks.

I also just got back last night..It was not as crowded as it can be..but..it was still pretty crowded...We did get to see the character..Peter Pan..which was great because he is my daughter's favorite..and..since the ride is closed..playing musical chairs with him made up for the ride being closed.
We forgot to do Toy Story..until it was too late because when we went by..(Sunday about 4...it was packed)...but..other than that..we did everything.I hadn't read on here that they lowered the price for the character breakfasts..so..I was pleasantly surprised about that...

We're getting down to the end of the PP refurb and I'm hoping for an early return! Anyone been lately? Are the tarps still up?

Tarps were up last weekend. No PPF for us. Oh well, we rode other FL rides instead and will do PPF in July. :)
