Few updates for you!!!

Lets start with Peter Pan!

The ride is now only down from May 4 – 15 for refurbishment. Not the whole of May like was originally stated.

Also
Fastpass service will not be offered at the following attractions through Thursday, April 30: Autopia, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Grizzly River Run, Mullholand Madness and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. (This being noted for 2 days for people who are going to Dis in the next day or so)

That is the best news!!! We are taking my 13 year old niece on her first ever Disney trip at the beginning of June and I was so sad that she wasn't going to get to experience Peter Pan... Now, if only we could start F!, DEP, and the new fireworks a few weeks earlier! Oh well, you can't get everything that you wish for and Peter Pan is worth the trade off!

:cool1: Awesome. But I wonder if even more projects will be curtailed or come to a screeching halt soon? That's not awesome in the longer-term.

Where did you find your Peter Pan info?? I printed out the schedule yesterday for our trip the end of May and it still shows up on the refurbishment list.

We love PP and hope it is going when we are there. :lovestruc

Darn! Our last day in the parks will be the 15th... so close!

Its on Mouseplanets weekly update

Sorry, I can't get on board with this. The official schedule has Peter Pan down for all of May, and for planning purposes I'd have to go with the official schedule rather than Mouseplanet, especially since Mouseplanet gives no reason for the sudden shortening of the refurb period. The more likely explanation is that Mouseplanet made a mistake.

Thank you for that ray of sunshine! Even my 13 year old was bummed when I told him we weren't going to get to ride it this trip! Hooray! Here's hoping there's more good news to follow...keeping my fingers crossed that they'll either run the Electrical Parade or have some fireworks for us, too!

Don't get too excited. If you look at the Mouseplanet page in question, you can see it's pretty clear they made a mistake. The dates listed for the Peter Pan refurb are the same as the dates for the Hungry Bear refurb. This is simply a typo, there is nothing to indicate that the Peter Pan closure has changed.

bubble burster:lmao:
Well, isn't that a bummer.
Sorry Mystic_path....I really wanted it too, we're going about the same time you are.

Note: Disneyland has different schedules for fastpasses and today only Soarin' and Screamin' had fastpasses. Has been that way for a while now. Weekends they may add more fasspass locations.

Toy Story single rider line was closed today.

Im still keeping my fingers crossed!

Cool. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that the World of Color show will be finished by next week. :rotfl:

By the way, Mouseplanet fixed the page to show that Peter Pan will be down until June.

*sniff* I had re-inspired my DH's enthusiasm with the good news earlier. Now I have to tell him it was a typo. He's kinda convinced us first week of June visitors are getting ripped off.

Ah bum... I don't even like the Hungry Bear restaurant... :rotfl:

Closures and refurbishments
  • Hook's Point may be closed but I have not seen anything official or online.
  • Illuminations will be closing its final candle shop on April 30th, 2009. They are not taking phone or email orders. Everything is for sale form 75% and up. Store fixtures also. They have no more online site and the DTD shop is the last in existence.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean – closed April 27-30 for refurbishment. It is not listed on the current schedule as being down in May.
[#]Cosmic Waves is currently closed and in for a major overhaul. This is that giant rotating marble ball and play area that has not gotten guests wet for ages. This is not on the schedule for refurbishment and is not really of importance so would not make the refurbishment schedule of DLR. It is a major project involving digging around the marble ball and end date is not known.
  • Astro Orbitor – closed April 20- June 12 for refurbishment.
  • Fantasmic closed all of May
  • Peter Pan closed May 4 to June 7, 2009
  • Hungry Bear Restaurant – closes May 4-15 for refurbishment.
  • Opera House is closed until September return of Mr. Lincoln.
  • King Triton's Carousel – closed March 9 – May 21, 2009 for refurbishment.
  • Sun Wheel – closed through May 7
  • Redwood Creek Challenge Trail – closes May 18 – 22 for refurbishment.
  • Dinosaur Jack’s Sunglass Shack is scheduled to close permanently on May 26th, 2009. It does not fit the new theming and while cute may be history.
  • I was at DLR on April 24th and the Golden Zephyr was down for unscheduled maintenance. The reopening is not known at this time and I will check later to see its status.
  • Souvenir 66 and Corn Dog Castle close June 1, 2009 and may not be back until 2011. You can still get a corn dog fix at the red wagon near Plaza Inn.
  • The Vineyard Room is closed until October 3, 2009

That is from the May Check In and is my list of all the known and rumoured closures. A lot is down in the month of May.
