Anyone know where I can get or how I can make a Peter Pan costume? The ones that are sold for adults look lame and bulky. Im skinny and short and can actually wear kids L shirts :) I would wear the ones they sell for Kids at DS but its actually to small on me.

I made a Peter Pan costume for DS to wear in a show several years ago. I found a really easy pattern for the tunic. It was just two pieces of heavy green felt cut out and sewn together on the sides. I was able to easily adjust the length since he's always been on the tall side. We added a brown sash, green tights, and a Peter Pan hat from a costume store. We found a pair of inexpensive moccasin-type shoes that worked well enough. He looked great and it was easy to put together.

thanks!! I kept looking up peter pan shirts but what i needed to look up was green tunic

the thrift shops are always my first stop for costumes... you could look for a green tunic, dress etc and cut it into the right length with a dagged hem (points)... can likely find a leather belt... add some boots, tights or leggings and a simple felt hat and you are good to go...

If you're tiny then you could just get a large men's t-shirt and use that as the base for your costume and modify it as required (I think PP meant jagged hems, as in cut triangles out of the bottom of the shirt/tunic and the sleeves so it makes points, like Peter Pan's outfit). And then add the accessories you need, like a hat (which you could either buy, or find a simple pattern online), a brown belt or piece of rope, green (or brown) tights or leggings, brown shoes (moccasins, or even boots) and a dagger.

I made one for my son when he was about 4 out of green felt. I measured him from shoulder to knee and doubled. Bought the felt, folded it in half short way, found the middle and cut a hole for his head and slipped it over. I pinned up the sides making sure he could move his arms- there is no wrong side. Before I sewed the sides, I zig zag cut the bottom. I cut a brown strip of fabric for his sash. I cut triangles for his hat and made covers for his shoes.
Just found this tutorial which is basically how I made my son's costume but the one I made was from felt and did not open in the back:

This is the one I wore in 2012. (http://www.amazon.com/Pretty-Pan-Co...1407296931&sr=8-13&keywords=Peter+Pan+costume) The ribbons at the bottom can be tied to make the skirt shorter. I added the dark green at the chest area to make it less revealing. The leggings and boots were not included, but the hat, feather, dress and belt were. This picture was staged by Tink, so it is a bit crazy looking, but it shows the whole look. :rotfl:

Yup!! cut the bottom hem and the sleeves into points, like in the above picture.

with a hot glue gun and a couple of the precut squares of felt available in most crafty stores you can make a hat.

this is a nice simple tutorial I just found using a quickie Google seach...

Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions !!!!

What would you suggest for the bottoms? Keeping in mind I am a guy and will be wearing this costume from 3pm till 12am. Is leggins my only option?
