The Peter Pan ride had some of the longest wait times of any ride in MK while I was there and was like this consistently whenever I checked the MDE app. Quite frankly, neither me nor my kids thought the ride was that good- certainly did not warrant a 70 minute wait or a late day FP return. What gives? Was it that PP just happened to be popular that week or is this generally the case? What is the appeal? Or is it that the ride is just so slow that what would be a 10 min wait on another ride is much longer here?

The wait time for PP is always ridiculously long, no matter the season or time of day. I like the ride but it is not a ride that I would wait in line 2 hours for. I think because it is an original to the park and an original to DL that it is more of a nostalgia factor for most guests that must ride it.

I think a lot of it is nostalgia - it's one of the older, classic park rides & I personally have very fond memories of it from my own childhood. It WAS that cool way back before we had so many new special effects & bells & whistles on everything.

Also, it appeals to all age groups and all ages can ride. Peter Pan is still a pretty popular character/story all around for boys and girls alike.

I like the very simplicity and sweetness of the ride. We won't wait for a long time but we often get fastpasses for it.

Very low capacity combined with broad appeal and no height restrictions.

This is seriously our favorite ride. We try to ride as soon as we arrive and it is generally our last ride. We ride it a lot during the first hour or two of opening or during the AM EMH and then we FP it the rest of the day. However, if I had to wait, I probably would. We waited an hour for TSMM one evening.

When my family when in '87, this was our favorite ride. We would say hello to Nana, look for Tinkerbell, quote the lines from the movies, etc. It's just so special to me.

When we were there last September this was the longest we waited for any ride. 40 minutes seemed like it took forever, but I'm so glad we did it. It was my daughters first trip and one of her favorite rides. It's an original and that's part of the fun of it. People remember it from their childhood so it's on the must do list for most.

My DS5 loves Peter Pan and captain hook. Loves the movies. Loves the storybooks. has a complete collection of hooks and a full captain hook costume at home. Any time we go to Magic Kingdom, we ride it at least two times first thing in the morning.

He will probably age out of it in a few years, but for now it is at the top of his list of personal favorite rides together with Jungle Cruise and Buzz Lightyear's space ranger spin.

This was our thought too, the first time we road it. We waited a good 40 minutes to ride it, and neither my wife nor I could understand why people would wait that long for it. But I also feel the same way about Soarin', so I think this falls under the "each to their own" category.

It is a classic, pure and simple. Nostalgia plays a part, but just the scenery, created before all the new-fangles special effects, it's a testament to pure Imagineering. That's why people love it.

If I never rode it again I'd be fine with that.

I do not get it, myself.

I also fall into the "must ride" category. Nostalgia, mostly. Like dumbo. It is crazy though, we hardly have a wait time for space mountain when we are there but pp is always 40-60 minutes unless it has rained and people left the park. And even though my kids are older, we still have to ride Winnie the pooh. It's just what we do.

It's a great memory maker. I rode it in Disneyland in the 1970's with my Grandma and now my kids ride PP with their Grandma in WDW. With us it's a tradition. So many of the older classic rides are gone. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Snow White's Scary Adventure, Skyway. It is nice to have a couple classics. Kind of like Small World.

It is like a lot of the rides at MK. It is an experience ride. It reminds you of your favorite movie, childhood memory etc.. I wouldn't wait more than 30-40 minutes for any ride though. It is one to get a FP for.

This is a classic example of how a FP line slows down an already slow line.
I like the flying aspect of it, but prefer the version at DL- WDW doesn't fly you through the clouds or the star field.

You can't really compare the wait times for PP and SM. People seem to be glossing over what Robo said. Nostalgia and broad appeal and no height restrictions are great explanations for its popularity. But what makes the wait times so long is that it is one of the SLOWEST loading rides in all of WDW. The number of people that can be accommodated per hour is seriously limited. By contrast, SM loads practically at light speed.

We ride this once/trip, and only with a FP. This is one of those rides that FP+ will kill for us. We would never waste one of a small limited number of FPs for this ride, and we would never wait more that 20 minutes for it.

There is a thread, what others rave about and you don't get and PP is mine.
But I don't have the nostalgia factor either. My first trip to Wdw was in 2008.

I love PP (for the nostalgia) but don't understand the lines. We try to ride it when we're there but won't wait any longer than 15 minutes. It's a very quick ride so its just not worth the wait.

It is an original, so there is lots of nostalgia associated with it.

For me, its the imagineering that went into it. When you turn that corner and realize you're going to fly--pretty cool!!

I don't ride it every trip, and if I do I make sure I head straight there first thing. While I love the ride, I too would never wait more than maybe 15 minutes for such a short ride.
