Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

Bleh, I've gotta do that too  I just wish that my local gym offered 6 month memberships, I know I'm not going to go for a full year, and - as I'm sure you'll agree with - I have plenty of other things I could be spending that money on

I spent $60 for 3 months...which was more than fair. It's a women's only gym...which makes it less intimidating. The weigh you in, measure you up, and then give you a workout program. It doesn't quite take me to the wedding...but if I like it I'll keep doing it...or see if they have a plan that will get me to the end of the year. (I could handle another $60 plan...just to get me to the end of the year or wedding time) and then see where it goes from there.
:thumbsup2

I went to zumba yesterday and it kicked my bum! Seriously...I was so exhausted by the end of the day I was in bed by 8:30! Sad!:lmao:

Oh, Zumba is my favourite! I started doing it too much, that I had to limit myself to once or twice a week (since you need variety to get the best results).

Your menu sounds so good! I'm not sure what to suggest for your pre-reception...do diabetics need anything in specific?

Zumba kicked my rump...but I haven't worked out for about a year or two consistently...Something about finishing school:rolleyes1

No, diabetics don't need anything specific...just food on a regular basis. So, I saw your pics on my Dessert Party Menu question...and I think I'm going to go with cheeses and crackers...We have an amazing menu picked out...I don't want to take away from the meal! :thumbsup2

The cheese was so good! I cannot remember all the types, but I know there was brie, cheddar (which nobody took because everyone wanted the fancier cheeses) and some type of red wine cheese. Delicious!

I am still hoping Keith and I will be there Nov/Dec! Hopefully we will know soon! There are so many disbrides around that time that I would love to try and see a few!

wow, $60 for 3 months is awesome! If that's all it was here I'd be a member already, I'd be looking at around $700 for a 12 month membership

Seriously! HOLY MOLEY! :scared1: Here you can get a membership for $199/year...and if you pay it in full you get a fee class.

Maybe that's why, here when you get a membership it includes all the classes they offer, the only thing it doesn't include is a private trainer, which I think is then only another $30 a time.

It's the classes I want to go to, otherwise I don't put as much effort in.

I get a trainer too...I meet with her for the first time tomorrow...then at my 6th visit...I get a new exercise...on the 12th visit we re-weigh, re-measure and re-evaluate...Looks like I got one heck of a deal! :thumbsup2

yeah that's great, I might shop around a little more...

First day back at the gym and my body is screaming "What is this all about?!?!" :rotfl: Honestly...it feels good...So, baby steps I've gotten to the gym twice this week..One more day!!!

So, some drama...I emailed MIL and told her I would prefer her not to wear white. I haven't heard from her since. I talked to SIL and told her I felt really bad about the whole thing...and bridezilla like...but she was going to stick out like a sore thumb. She understood...but I still feel like bridezilla. Oh well I said my peace.

Mom and I are staying at GF for the night before and then DH and I are staying the night of the wedding...Mom says that she doesn't think she can come up with her part of the room. Seriously? We've been planning this for 2+ years. I don't get it...but expected it so I saved a little extra. It just makes me mad that she didn't plan accordingly ...What ever.

Um...what else...Tuxes...That is the next BIG thing to do on my list...Other than CA's can I get tuxes? Is there a Men's Warehouse there? Oh to bring or have them dropped off there....That is the question.

I emailed Misty RE: timeline. I have to say Im a bit worried. I have her booked for 6 hours and in her email she was talking about getting there 4 hours BEFORE the ceremony started...Um...that leaves no time for reception and dessert party. *panic* Not sure how this one will work out...but it will. It has so far.

I guess that is all for now. Time to go to work!

Are you doing a first look with your DH before the ceremony? That could be why she's getting there so early, to make sure you have lots of photos together. :confused3

I'm worried about our timeline too, if I want a wishes DP, and photography for that, I only technically have an hour of photos with DF after the ceremony, because we're not doing a first look. We'll probably cut into our reception getting these photos done, but here weddings usually go from 3pm to 11pm, so there's plenty of time for photos and everything. However a 4 hour reception is standard at WDW and doesn't seem like much time, and if I want my DP I've got to stick to that time. :crazy2:

Bleh, I'll stop ranting in your PJ now

Yes... we are doing a first look. But we only have 6 hours of coverage and it just doesn't seem like it will be enough :scared1:
We are looking at a first look, I WANT sunset photos, photos with family (which I don't really care when they get done-my mom wants them) then we have 'pre-reception' aka cake cutting, toast, mickey and minnie (which I think is going to be our entrance) dances, dinner (really who needs pics of dinner?) then fireworks.

Oh who knows!
But this just in MIL said she is cool with not wearing white (sigh of relief smiley here) :thumbsup2

Not a ton to report. I feel like I'm at a stand still...waiting on the DP pricing...

Got contacted by Rosie's assistant to set up a phone meeting...of course this was while I was away from my computer putting together wedding stuff...photos soon (I know I keep saying that)

I tried to widdle down the to do list...I think somewhere along the line it changed...LOL...Little by little it is all coming together! (I think)

I have a tip from my meeting with Rosie, if you haven't already done this. Send her any pictures of ideas ahead of time, or have them all compiled in one document and email them to here while talking about it. This was so helpful in my convo with her, since she could see everything that I wanted :thumbsup2

Definately a great idea - I did this before our phone meeting and this way we could both talk about what I wanted and she could see it during our meeting.

Thanks! I will definitely do this! Our floral is pretty simple overall. All red roses...I'm teetering on whether or not to have aisle petals and then petals to toss...I'm having a hard time trying to decide if I want the aisle petals $300 is a bit steep...but I love the look.
